LA would most likely have the ammo to do a young guns trade I could see them moving Brown along with a ton of youth.
-
I remember when everyone wanted us to go get him... I hope he has a fine post hockey life.
-
Yeah, I can't see this working out under the cap for more than one year. Plus their team is already stellar.
-
They said, we want a centerpiece. People who think Franzen would bring Nash here are insane. I never said I would do it either. I said let's not even talk like it would happen. The point is they aren't trading Nash unless they are the winners of the trade. Period. EDIT: Don't talk to me like I don't understand trades, they would enter rebuild mode, but they are in danger of ruining the franchise. THIS IS WHY THEY LOCKED HIM UP LONG TERM. Making the situation different than with Kovalchuk. Check twitter. They want bigger pieces than we have to offer. Franzen and Val aren't big enough. I am just saying that WE DON'T HAVE THE AMMO THEY WANT.

Zetterberg+ would be the cheapest we could get Nash, so let's not even talk about this. I do think Boston would be the most likely Candidate for Nash, but I wonder if Tuks would be a part of it. I would imagine that they would try to package Krejic and Horton would be a part of that trade in that trade.

Absolutely nothing is happening in terms of rumors or leads. Even Eklund who makes s*** up doesn't have anything to talk about. It is like a metaphor for the job market.

Any team that makes the playoffs.

Sigh, I guess we will just wait and see.

Okay, but St Louis didn't break out until he was what? I had to go look it up but it was 28. He had his first big year getting .85 PPG when he was 27-28. He had his first AHL action at 22 where he got 26 pts in 25 games. Tatar at 21 years of age is at .75 ppg 46 games in... Pretty close so far... actually Tatar is ahead of St Louis' development. The big difference is Tatar is taller and weighs the same, which means he can pack on some muscles. You just are sooooo sure that he isn't going to be anything though... Even though your first post was all about wanting to know about him because you don't follow his progression?!? I am sorry, but there is something wrong with that and I hope you don't hold it against me if I don't go to you for my scouting needs. I just can't figure how you can ask why he is so good, then get told why only to respond with complete indifference. Sounds like you are just flaming against the guy for no reason if you respond to some info with a basic, you are wrong. Am I saying he is St Louis? No, but he plays a similar game. I am pretty sure he will get more than 1/10th of the output of St Louis which would be about 83 career pts. Oh yeah he already has 82 pts left to go, and he would be at worst another Hudler. He has 200 pts nearly. Tatar has already shown himself to be more willing to go to the dirty areas of the ice and be willing to get the dirty goals along with more skill to get the slick ones. He isn't there yet, but he is already so ahead of the curve.

A few points. 1. I am fine with him being the backup for the rest of this year, but I would still see if there is a trade to be made but refuse to give up anything valuable. Next year... I still would look for better. 2. Nothing stops us from sending him down at any point... he would just have to clear waivers going down and coming up. If he gets claimed coming up then we have to pay half the salary. If we send him down, we might have to keep him down. 3. I still would have loved to have Osgood playing, because even if he wasn't better than Joey, he would be better than Ty. I would have loved to see him adding to that win total right now. 4. Congrats to being a huge part of a record Joey.

Good for them. I didn't want a Quebec team... but with the stupid uneven divisions, I want two expansion teams to make things fair. Plus two more teams might make the skill level go down and might make the goons come back. Add two teams to wherever they can support a team.
-
I tell you, they were a team I thought was going to be a lot better last year. They improved their team and are pretty scary on paper, and are now playing like it.

The Devils just put in a one year deal with Zach, meaning he will be UFA next year... The Production Line tweeted half jokingly that him and Weber were coming to the Wings next year (e5) lol right? But joking aside, this is a possiblity that he get traded for this year, maybe at the deadline... We can fit his 6 million in if we clear just a little bit of space, and this talk of wanting another true top six forward could be satisfied by this. Just a half joke... but there is enough here to assume that Holland might go after him, if the price is right.
-
Obviously you have never seen him play. He is a St. Louis clone. He has a sniper shot and is fleet of foot. Plays bigger than he is, and has a head for the game. He is behind Nyquvist because of age, but is ahead of the other three you speak of... Even though all three of the prospects could end up being better players in the long run. Out of our forward prospects I would list Tatar second behind Gustav or third behind Calle. I still say when you are looking at them, you have to take in account of who they are playing. I know it is hard to tell when looking at a stat sheet... but then again Tatar has been playing against much harder competition in the AHL. Tatar is playing professionals. Going up against the NHL prospects. The kid is still a kid, and yet he is one of three players in our system that is ready to play in the NHL right now. I just don't get how you can look at a stable full of excellent horses and say this one is worthless because these other ones are winning more easy races.

And some airtime on Hockey Day in Canada to boot. Looking good Jurcks!
-
That would be horrible over payment on our part.

I am friends with God, Elvis, and bigfoot. They all say that the Capitals party hard in the old style of the word. They drink so much milk, they sometimes get heartburn.

I love almost our entire team, and the couple guys I don't love... are just because of their contracts. Really, everyone seems to be playing at a level you would expect for their role. I just would like to see some of the top end guys improve, but I believe it is more because we have a few too many tweeners. Guys that are a bit too good for the third line, and not good enough for the 2nd.
-
Selanne seems to be the only one I think will happen, and that is dependent on Teemu wanting it.
-
This thread might take a negative turn! lol. Kidding, congrats Homer. How much do you have to love this guy? A character and tenacious to boot.
-
I know what he has been doing. That is why I said he could be a trading piece. I am not saying I want these guys gone. I am just saying if you are going to make a big splash, you have to move top prospects. Out of our top prospects I would be okay with moving these guys.
-
Yeah, and if the league is complacent with this sort of bulls*** where people are going to scalpe the hell out of tickets... then there is much wrong with the Winter Classic system.
-
I doubt he ends up here. I also wonder if he would make the team any better. He is a two line, three line tweener. I think we have a couple of those already. The Wings need in the short term a true top six sniper.
-
Good for you. I however live in Metro Detroit area, and have no job. I haven't for the entire time since I graduated from college. It would have been nice if the NHL realized this is somewhat common in the area. That is all.

Red Wings hope Winter Classic can persuade Nicklas Lidstrom to return
Majsheppard replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
Now, can they spin it so he takes league minimum to return too so they can add two major pieces?
