Still one of the best. Honestly we need to figure out a better cast among our top four. Another top six winger that would actually compliment Zetter would be good.

I'd like to see a OTL loss be .5 pts and 1 pt for the win no matter what after regulation ends... I don't mind the shootout, just the affect it has on the standings. I don't like the idea of 3 pts or whatever. It just doesn't seem legit.
-
Yeah, saw it the other day. It would have been cool to be on the ice for that. "This is hockey, and this is the beer you will never see at the rink."
-
Brad Boyes and Hecht are UFA so maybe they are for sale... No defensemen are up at the time... maybe Robin or Jordan who have year left each after would be something they were looking at.
-
You have to love this guy. ... I mean besides his stupid childish celebrations. He better get that out of his system before he makes it up to this level.
-
I still say he should be our first prospect traded for improving the team. Him or Ferraro.
-
I don't get why you buy this guy out... Just put his ass in the Minors and you still pay him but he doesn't count against the cap. Buy him out and it counts against the cap. If I was Montreal I would trade everyone away I could and get under the floor and call Gomez up to barely get the team over the floor... then go to the lottery hoping for a s***tsburgh or Oilers style team fix. Extreme youth.

I like Plekanec... I don't think they will move him.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?
Majsheppard replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Again, what more do you want for a player making the minimum, causes no trouble not playing every night, and can be used in every situation and at least be counted on not to make a mistake. The other night when he coughed the puck up and lost a goal, he worked his ass off and got it back. Miller will not yield anything better in trade then what we already have in Miller. I am sorry but people who don't get the idea of value in players don't understand how to build a winner. I am sure you would rather have someone on the team that will drop the gloves or try for a big hit, and while doing this is an anchor to an entire line, and costs us games. We don't need goons, we need hustle and heart. Right now Miller is in the top half of our team in that yet gets paid peanuts. Emmerton and Eaves both deserve the boot before Miller. -
This is a guy who never broke 15 goals in a season... I think it has to be a fluke... if not then the Oilers would be stupid to trade him now.
-
Again, why do we need to add a dman? We have 9 guys we can plug in right now.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

<5% I still don't get where depth is an issue... scoring depth maybe, which equates to top six forward. Can't get one of those without giving up what Holland says he doesn't want to... It just seems like more and more the market isn't what we need to help us. Not enough sellers, too many buyers. I think Morrow, Selanne, or JVR are the only trades that make sense. Morrow prob is the only realistic one. I would like JVR, but it would cost a defenseman now... I don't they want any of our guys enough, and I don't really want to give up Smith. Kindl would have to be the main piece unless we could fool them into taking E. Even then it still would be pricy. I would imagine they would still want prospects and multiple picks. -
I don't want Gill at all. Moen would be okay, but I don't see the point of giving up anything to get him. I don't think he magically makes us better. He might not even make it on the ice because we have a log jam on the third and fourth lines. I'd be all for Bryan Allen on the cheap. Though again, I don't get why... We can lose three Dmen and still be okay. Ian White Nicklas Lidstrom Niklas Kronwall Brad Stuart Jonathan Ericsson Jakub Kindl Mike Commodore Brendan Smith* (M) Garnet Exelby (M) Doug Janik (M) Honestly if we can't win with these guys, I don't know what Gill or Allen will do to change that. Malik is completely right about the cost being high on everything.

The new report is Eaves has a concussion... He might not play again this season. I imagine this as good news though, we could add someone and bring Eaves back in the playoffs when there is no player cap.
-
He should just cut the damn pinky off.

Details to come but Joey has been called up. Per Darren Dreger. @DarrenDreger: Following up @aaronward_nhl and news on Jimmy Howard injury. It's suspected Howard suffered a broken finger. #TSN We all saw Van Zant take a look at Howard on the bench quickly last night. This is what must have happened. With the way Conks has been playing... The Wings could be in serious trouble if Jimmy is affected by this injury to the extent of missing time or playing worse. This is too bad because his glove has been sick this year. Will the Wings make a trade for a tender now? Can the Wings maintain their place on top of the league without a solid goaltender? Will Jimmy be good to go for the playoffs? Will our younger viewers get this Soap reference? EDIT: updates.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

Tatar I believe has much more potential than Nyquist... Nyquist is way more advanced now and NHL ready. It is just a gut call that Tatar superior skill set will translate to more goals in the NHL. Honestly, Gustav might end up getting more points with a more well rounded game. I just keep thinking Tatar is a first liner down the road, where as I keep seeing Nye as a second line guy. I really don't want to lose either, and neither does Holland. The new rumors have Kenny as being gunshy again to trade anything away. -

Players that I could care less if we lose are bold Players that I would move but it would be painful to me are underlined Players that I wouldn't want to move are italic Players that CANNOT BE TRADED ARE REDACTED BECAUSE I WOULD RIOT All of this is assuming we make a trade to improve our team. NONE OF THIS SUGGESTS ANY VALUE TO THE PLAYER IN TERMS OF TRADE. This is just my estimation of what I think our organizational strengths are. Valtteri Filppula Johan Franzen Drew Miller Cory Emmerton* Chris Conner (M) Gustav Nyquist* (M) Tomas Tatar* (M) Fabian Brunnstrom (M) Brent Raedeke* (M) Chris Minard (M) Teemu Pulkkinen* (E) Pavel Datsyuk Henrik Zetterberg Darren Helm Justin Abdelkader Joakim Andersson* (M) Francis Pare* (M) Louis-Marc Aubry* (M) Jamie Johnson (M) Calle Jarnkrok* (E) Riley Sheahan* © Alan Quine* (J) Brooks Macek* (J) Jesper Samuelsson* (E) Julien Cayer* © Dan Cleary Todd Bertuzzi Jiri Hudler Tomas Holmstrom Patrick Eaves (IR) Jan Mursak* Landon Ferraro* (M) Mitchell Callahan* (M) Willie Coetzee* (M) Trevor Parkes* (M) Andrej Nestrasil* (M) Tomas Jurco* (J) Marek Tvrdon* (J) Philippe Hudon* (J) DEFENSE / GOALTENDER Defense Goaltender Ian White Nicklas Lidstrom Niklas Kronwall Brad Stuart Jonathan Ericsson Mike Commodore Jakub Kindl Brendan Smith* (M) Garnet Exelby (M) Doug Janik (M) Logan Pyett* (M) Brian Lashoff* (M) Travis Ehrhardt* (M) Sebastien Piche* (M) Gleason Fournier* (M) Adam Almqvist* (E) Xavier Ouellet* (J) Max Nicastro* © Ryan Sproul* (J) Richard Nedomlel* (J) Benjamin Marshall* © Nick Jensen* © Mattias Backman* (E) Alexei Marchenko* (E) Jimmy Howard Ty Conklin Joey MacDonald (M) Jordan Pearce* (M) Thomas McCollum* (M) Petr Mrazek* (J) I know there is going to be much talk about this list as absurd, that we can't get much of anyone without offering up more. I say we use draft picks instead of these prospects. Sorry to those who think I am undervaluing the tougher and bigger guys in favor of the skill guys... but I am. That is what we use and are good with. I just find these players as having a better chance of having a big impact. -
Moen is not a top six forward on our team. Shouldn't be on any team really. He is a good checking line guy... but honestly I don't get why everyone wants him. He is good, but he wouldn't be a significant upgrade over what depth we already have.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

I said in the post that there is no regard to if they can be traded or if they have value. Just people that are off limits in my book. -

Gleason Signs Extension with Hurricanes
Majsheppard replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Good for him, although he would have been a great replacement for Stuart. Rutuu for sale? -
Last time I checked... we have too many forwards with plenty of depth... we don't have top end depth... so why would Moen help our team? Because he is a tough guy? I could care less about that, sorry but Miller can play better defense than Moen, Mursak has better upside, and Eaves can bring more offense. I just look at the roster and I don't think adding depth forwards is necessary unless we move a bunch of forwards in the trades. With the way the Wings are playing I don't like that idea. I didn't even bring up the fact Nyquvist could play too if needed. I definitely do not want to give up our prospects for these guys. Morrow or Rutuu for a depth forward, one of our north american forward prospects, and a draft pick. The only way I am fine with a bunch of moves is if we get rid of some of our "trash" and UFA's. Like if Stuart Ericsson Hudler and maybe Bert or Cleary are the guys being moved for big upgrades. I just don't see that happening so why screw around? I think Rutuu is the best long term bet, but we have long term prospects... none that fill that role though... Morrow fits better short term and could be more cap friendly in the future. I would just like to know what Holland considers moveable.
-
Rutuu is the same as Morrow though... it is younger and could equal the offensive output of Morrow and bring the same attitude while being five years younger.

Both Suter and Weber have said that they just want Nashville to take the game seriously and match Detroit. They have never seen the commitment there to go add on to the team and make it a winner. I believe that this year Suter is just making it clear that you have to go add players at the deadline to have any shot at resigning me. He has to know that Detroit is waiting to give him a big contract and make him the number 1 Dman of a winner next season.
