    Preseason and regular season tickets?

You sure timed that question perfectly. Seeing it was announced just now.

Crosby's 2012 Season now in Question

Crap I just wrote a long response and the kitten hit refresh on the keyboard. So here is the abridged version. Many writers believe class counts for something in getting into a hall of fame. I believe fame should be dependent upon how they hold themselves as a person. He dives, he whines, he acts in a way that if my son did that I would scold him. He does things that non-marquee players would be called cheaters for... It isn't all on him, it is the superstar culture but he does act poorly, especially for a hockey player. Do I think that will keep him out? No. It might if he retires now. Also he really hasn't the numbers to get in, the reverse Osgood argument. I put it this way. Hypothetically, if he plays 10 more years and because of his concussion he has balance issues that lead to him never getting more than 30 pts again. Would he get in the hall with 16 years and about 900 pts? I don't think he does. Based on that rational, I don't think he gets in if he were to retire now. His entire career, albeit impressive, is not complete therefore you wouldn't bestow that lock upon him. That is all I was saying about your statement about him being a lock no matter what happens. I think it premature. Honestly, I will use every argument used against Osgood and others because I only think it fair to be consistent. I might be wrong about him being a lock, but that is my viewpoint. I am however quite confident that beyond skill, there is nothing impressive about Crosby as a human being and I dislike his attitude. That should count for something when there are people looking up to him.

    JLA question

NP. One more bit of advice. If you can find tickets in row 22 you will likely have your back right to him. Malts is a regular there now, and Fischer is too.

    Rick Rypien found dead

I think we should all take note on how money and playing a game for a living doesn't stop depression. I know most of us could not comprehend killing yourself when you were to make 700k for playing hockey for the year. I most likely wouldn't make 700k in my lifetime if the economy doesn't improve, but apparently he was more likely to kill himself... I think this is a good lesson in priorities. Take care of your relationships and family, it is far more important than some money.

Who the Wings Targeted in UFA

That is just how you define perusing. If someone calls you and says they would like to play for you, and you say here is a contract, you could call that persuing. I think of it as targeting. Did the Wings say, let us go get Vokoun? No, therefore I wouldn't say we targeted him. Feel free to disagree, but that was my opinion on the matter. I think it was Osgood or bustConks the whole way until Vokoun presented himself. Semantics? Perhaps, but that is what happened.

    Kesler Sighting

I really have to go with the former on this one. It really does come down to team character. Franzen hasn't acted anywhere near as bad as some, and it appears to me that someone had a talk with him on that. It comes down to philosophy some think that if you aren't cheating you aren't trying. The Wings believe that to be false when coming to faking calls, but not when it comes to the faceoff circle... so the entire team has a rep now. Just like the entire Penguins team has a rep for whining. Respectively it goes back to Draper and Mario for the philosophy and reputation perpetuating. The right team would fix Kesler, but he never is going to play for us. Therefore I would have no problem calling him out on his actions.

Brunnström to try out for Wings

Though Emmerton should be getting ready for a fight.

    Bold predictions for the year!

Grand Rapids will make the playoffs. There you go bold prediction.

Brunnström to try out for Wings

I strongly believe he would have been better off playing in GR than Dallas. This is the proof. I have to say though... he is going to end up being picked up off waivers... I predict by the Islanders. Just call it a hunch.

Could have been worse or better. A bird in the hand; no?

Link? nm I found it... I have to disagree though with Puck Prospectus... We are not number 1 in prospects... ...but we are number one in being able to restock. I am unsure to what he is trying to get across.

Crosby's 2012 Season now in Question

I think you are high. He is close to being a lock for the HHOF... but I don't think most voters will justify 6 years as a true career. That might be blind distaste for him, but I just think most voters look for reasons to exclude people. I tell you what, if Crosby gets in right now. I will be extremely pissed if Osgood doesn't get in. Which really is better? An amazing short career, or a consistently strong long career?

    Rick Rypien found dead

Sad to see anyone die young. Even if you didn't like him. I thought he was a bit of a prick, but it is hard to see that happen to anyone. I think of it like when Jiri went down on the bench. Ended his career and even though I thought he wasn't as good as I expect out of a Red Wing, I was extremely sad to see his career end that way. I feel the same way about Rypien, but with the added sadness that the people he knew have to suffer a loss as well. I wish the best for all those hurt by this... It is also a tremendous shame that the new Winnipeg uniforms will have to have a memorial patch on them so soon. It is however most sad to know that suffering like this can become so unbearable that it leads to such a justifiably selfish act of suicide. I have experience in this.. I must say that there is no way to truly sum up how bad this really is for everyone involved. Anyone indifferent to suicide is callous and maladjusted.

Who the Wings Targeted in UFA

As far as I know, Vokoun contacted the Wings... so I would say he was not targeted by that rational.

Crosby's 2012 Season now in Question

I really hope he never plays again. I don't get any pleasure out of saying that, I just think that certain players hurt the game more than help it. Crosby fits into that because so many little ones look up to him and all he does is play extremely well skill wise and extremely poor ethic/gamesmanship/sportsmanship wise. I am in the opinion that nothing is more important now than to be a good example to the kids on how to act gracefully in whatever they do. I am awful sick of dealing with people who think it is okay to act the way Crosby and other superstars act.

Kings fans visiting JLA in December

I want to welcome you preemptively to the city of Detroit. It might have a bad rep and has seen better days, but it really is no worse than anywhere else. Stay out of some neighbors outside of the downtown area and you will be fine. I might also suggest trying to get a ticket to the Lions game if there is one while you are in town. The team is getting better and the Stadium is one of the nicest around. If you don't count the service fee, you will have no problem getting good tickets in that price range. Almost all the seats are good ones at the Joe. Outside of the bathroom that is... If I knew I was going to the game I'd offer to show you around... but my finances cannot assure that... but have fun and good luck to you and your teamAnze and Dustin.

    Question about Grand Rapids

I wanted to get back to you guys and say thanks. I thought I hit "post" before on my earlier thank you. I guess it didn't go through... Anyways I enjoyed my third trip to GR and the websites you suggested made for an enjoyable trip. Thanks a bunch.

    Hemsky

I would be pissed if they trade for him actually. Unless it was Hudler for him straight up. He doesn't impress me enough to justify his salary. Also, I have zero faith that it would happen... They need defense bad, and we won't be giving that so... ... yeah.

The NHL Changes Proposed For Overtime.

I love the Trapazoid. I think it makes the game far more interesting, and if the goalies want to stop it, they could get to the puck before it crosses the line into the corner. That would really be interesting. Honestly, whenever they talk about rule changes I cringe. The game is pretty smooth right now. I would suggest that something has to be done about the face-offs and officiating, and the head shots as well. Besides that, let them play boys.

    Kesler Sighting

I don't like to get in players faces about anything on their free time, but I would have loved to tell him how much respect I lost for him in the finals... Then of course remind him all the respect would return if he one day signed a cheap contract for the Wings.

    Weber Arbitration hearing...

If you follow twitter, you will notice that the entire hockey world is shocked how things are going down with Shea Weber and the Preds. First off, is the fact that the salary number is 4 million off between the two sides. Second is that Weber wants out apparently. Third is this notion that he WON'T be UFA next year but it will take two years... and finally is how much this means to Nashville... I thought a thread for this would be nice. Moreover, I want to know how someone who is 27 next year isn't going to be UFA. Doesn't the CBA clearly show that he must be UFA... they are saying that he hasn't played enough games one year... and I don't think that really is affects his UFA status. I must be right... because no one brought this up until just now... so is this some obscure rule that I haven't heard used before now that the Nashville lawyers dug up or a mistake... Anyone have anything else to add?

    This writer has no clue

Yet another article with NOTHING right in it. It would take longer to tear that apart than it took to write it because there is no reality in it. We have a ton of prospects, Kronner and Helm are worth more than Hemsky to us, and the only way that we make a move for a forward is if Hudler is a part of the deal. Those are the major errors there, but screw this writer. The other trades are stupid too. Hemsky for Del Zotto?!?!? Then he suggests that isn't enough for Hemsky? I would consider that a bad deal for NYR. Wolski wouldn't be moved either, he just signed. Letang is laughable. You really think they would ever part with him for a forward when they already have too much in the line of top six forwards? What a Moron. The guy clearly makes it apparent he is just dreaming how he slowly changes his writing from this is the rumor to the rumor should be... The guy is a moron homer. The last sentence is proof. Letang ... on the oilers... makes me all smiley. Junk.

    Kovalev complains in Russian media

Honestly, Kovalev was, at his peak, the most skilled offensive player in the league. He however never became the best player in the NHL. He had the ability to do almost anything he wanted with the puck at any given moment, but he never consistently took advantage of it. If he is taking this identity of a man who didn't show up every night as an insult... then I would like to know what excuse he would like to give? He was the Datsyuk of his time and could have put up goals like Pavel puts up dangles, but he didn't and at the end of his NHL career we are going to question why. It is a real shame he doesn't question it too... but that is most likely why he never became a true legend.
