Oh well, guess I have to go back to hoping he can be packaged in a deal for Weber or maybe some debt relief. Maybe if we throw in Hawaii and Alaska plus a first round pick, we can get 100 Trillion forgiven. I can see it now, Eva is going to say that Jiri Hudler will become a weapon of mass destruction for China and they will score even more points. I am also assuming points are scored in China via how many people you have, not so much assists...

It surprises me from reading the boards, and the emotional damage it does to me personally. There are a couple of years as a fan that shortened my life span for sure. Are you kidding me? It is quite easy to see goals scored on the close end, and if you are sharp at following the puck you can tell on the other end as well, sometimes before the puck even goes in. My season tickets were last row in front of that press box, best seats ever because they were cheap and very good. This is so true, it makes me mad that people want to destroy the Joe for some new rink. I just can't imagine any arena matching how good the sight lines are. There would most likely be less great seats due to corporate boxes in the lower bowl and maybe even obstructed views from fancy layouts that can't beat a boring rectangle. Who cares about the concourse or bathrooms, the arena is about seeing the game. All I ask is that my arena has great seats that normal people can afford. I would like to take my children to the Joe and have money left over so they could play hockey.

I wish we could fleece a team for a number 2 pick like Boston did and Washington might have done.

Tim Gleason I do think that it is entirely possible that this is what he is going to do. Again having read EVERYTHING on this, it is more about the concept that Holland is still trying to save cap space like he expects to use it THIS YEAR. That doesn't mean he does use it, but he is definitely kicking tires and keeping an ear to the ground. The Weber angle is just stapling Three rumors together. Apparently Weber LOVED playing with Lidstrom almost as much as Lids loved playing with Weber. Two, Weber is mad about the arbitration rights/intrigued about becoming a UFA and wants a short term contract which might be a sly way of saying get me out of town. Three, Holland is looking to make the team better and is saving money to do so in a peculiar manner. It adds up to nothing but a bigger rumor. It also could signify that Hudler has got to go and this is what he wants the most in return.

I agree, because he is the most well rounded player and always plays up to his competition. He is always going to manage to push the team to play better, and has a nack for being the best player in any situation. Not saying it will always be that way, but he enjoys the game enough for it not to surprise me. I tell you our Forward prospects are STACKED! If there was no cap and all these guys came into their prime at the same time we would end up with two teams worth of NHL talent. No joke. (not saying they will be great teams, but they would most likely beat your dregs)

I think Everyone just knows that if there is a big trade to be had, that would most likely be the piece that Holland would be willing to trade that would hurt the least out of the MAJOR players in our organization. I think it would hurt way too much though..l I doubt a Fil trade will happen unless we get a clearly better player. I.E. That won't happen. Holland will trade picks though... Things will make sense the later in the season it goes. I also really believe that we won't make a big deal until we know what we have in Commodore, White, and E. You don't sign and trade, but you do trade a signee at the deadline no prob. We have d in the pipeline that can be decent. Kindl would suck to lose, but not if we get back something to help us win now.

I also wanted to throw in, the reason for this is because Holland is playing the cap like he wants to keep about 7-8 million in cap... which is suspicious... It IMPLIES trade. I feel he is going to do his due diligence, but he won't make bad trade just to do one.

The rumor is that the Wings are still trying to trade for a top D man... I have heard that many times. Word has it that Holland is trying to convince Nashville to trade Weber. I have heard it whispered across the internet in many questionable places. The idea is since Weber wants a short term deal, the Wings are trying to convince them to move him as they won't be in the same division again. Still believe it is a possibility, though a long shot. Nashville doesn't want to do it, but they will consider it if it becomes apparent that they will lose him. Therefore, it won't happen until at least later in the offseason after the arbitration. I still think they won't make a move until the deadline. I think Holland expects Lidstrom to want to stay to play next to Weber, so he will be willing to overpay to get him. However, if it ends up Weber gets his one year contract I think he might wait till next season to go after him. Again, longshot. I think it is a long, long, shot.

I doubt this will take them out of lottery territory...

I don't know if he has it in him to have a renewal... I hope he doesn't turn it around while under contract of the Blues, but maybe for another team I would wish him luck.

I predict many responses saying Osgood isn't Hasek... I would like to add how much better sports medicine is now then even back then. The surgeries has such higher success rates. I think this is a fair reminder to people. Though, let us just face it, some people just hate Osgood. I never have seen a player so marginalized by opinion as Osgood. The guy could come back this year and win 82 games with 82 shutouts followed by 16 shutouts and a Stanley Cup and their would still be people who discount him for playing on a good team or some other reason. I by no means suggest he will do anything even remotely close to that, but I do honestly think he can handle whatever load they ask of him. Including, if need be, another Stanley Cup run. Osgood has nine lives and has only used up a few of them. Besides, they are going to sign him to a minimum contract and use the savings to make the team better at the deadline.

I had fun with the kid on Twitter, telling him straight that he needs to stop looking so much at being the next Mike Green and work on the defensive end of the game. He took it very maturely and said of course he needs a bit more Lidstrom in his game. I was impressed. Honestly, I do not think we need a defensive liability who gets out of position in order to get some offense. I know that the team won't let him develop into that. Good future. I am so excited for all the prospects.

Looking really good still in the propects camp. I will let George Malik say it for me... I would be very happy with another Brad Stuart.

Aubry is looking like a standout in the prospects camp. He really looks like something special in development. I would stand to say that a future where there is a Helm Mursak Aubry line could be a bright one. Here is what Malik has to say on the subject- and I agree.

Yeah, but they would likely go off of the cap for a year to keep Weber on the team. Also if they make the team worse by trading to stay under an internal cap now, they risk pissing Weber off only to leave when his short term deal ends.

I am convinced that the Holland is going for the cheapest route possible because there is going to be a move for someone at some point.

A. If Howard gets hurt, then he would have to start. If he doesn't then Osgood would be just as good. B. 40W 38L that says it all. Losses are high, he doesn't win cups. Osgood? 129 GP 74 Wins 49 Losses 2.09 GAA .916SV% 15 Shutouts Yeah, so the numbers don't really impress me as much. C. Don't really want to get into any argument over Osgood, or the teams in front of both these guys. I will be the first to say that the Sharks had a ton of really crappy under performers in the playoffs, with no clutch skills. However, the Wings have looked like that the last couple of playoffs. That is, they don't look hungry. Nabokov has been around that, so I wouldn't want to trade resources to acquire him. Sort of the way I wouldn't trade to acquire Detroit Lions. Might sign one, but never trade for it. Right Dallas? Well, if everyone is so worried about health... Why not sign Osgood, and trade for Nabs later if he doesn't work out?

I would rather keep Hudler, just because Nabs never was a great playoff goalie, and Garth Snow is a tool.
