Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo
Majsheppard replied to Travis's topic in General
Honestly, with how amazing the NHL was last year in parity and quality. This off season has been an unmitigated disaster. This reminds me of hot potato more than professional sports and I am not overly excited for next season. I don't think the NHL can top last year and the Wings are on a down swing. Too bad I still will watch it, because it is the best game to be named. -
Not true. He is not under contract with any NHL team, therefore there are no rules against saying he was going to sign.
-
I am so confused...
-
I would rather roll with our own guys now. Just survive this free agency, next year there will be more and we won't have to over pay. We can win with a trade.
-
I dunno, the way this offseason is going, he might be able to sign and with the buy-out make more money than before!!! This is getting out of hand. However, the NHL 11 simulation shows us with Kaberle and Drury... I am getting scared.
-
Have you ever been to a hockey practice? It is just like that but there are some kids that you don't know, but assume will be your heroes in a couple of years. I suggest doing it at some point, but honestly if you have the extra money and time in September the game is more interesting.

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons
Majsheppard replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
I am waiting for all the naysayers to come eat their crow about him retiring. -
Maybe that is why there is all this talk about Stamkos being lost to a team like Detroit. He wants to lose his job while making his next job easier by letting us have the best player in the league. Yeah, I said it. Best player in the league... after Dats of course.
-
Kaberle won't happen because it is what Detroit always does in NHL 11, and the game is always wrong.

Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

PLEASE COME BACK!!! This whole 6.6 extra cap space isn't working out the way we wanted... Maybe you could pull a Farve? -
Seriously, how mad would Yzerman be if we stole Stamkos? Let us all just sit and think about that for a moment... I said it before and I will say it again. Stamkos will get resigned. If they have to pay him a ton, they will. If they have to trade someone, they will. I still think Vinny gets traded to the Habs. Maybe Richards comes back, and the team is better than ever.

per Bob McKenzie... What do you think?
-
This story confuses me... They don't want to spend 3 million on him over the next season... so they refuse to spend 575k on him now to let him go? Perhaps they saw how few D men were left and said okay... we will try trading him again on July third.
-
Besides, re-entry would cost them 1.5 million against the cap, buyout costs them 575k against the cap. Which would you do?

Wisniewski likely to reach July 1 without deal from Canadiens

At this point, if someone traded for my UFA rights, I would politely inform the team, I am going to UFA negate the deal. -

I will eat crow if he doesn't make it to UFA. I swore up and down that trading for negotiating rights was stupid, and especially so with Wiz. I think it is a poorly kept secret that we have mutual interest. Even more so that Ehrhoff is looking for 5 million a year. -
hahahahaha Maybe if they want all their cabbies dead. Don't forget Gomez! 7 million for a top center that should be a third center would help give those d a target!
-
The offer from the Wings is rumored to be 2 million on twitter.
-
You're Crazy. I wonder what drugs Snow is on to think that he is going to be able to sign Ehrhoff. That 4th was a huge waste.

I am hoping this is a fun night, thought it would help to have a unified thread to have everything dumped into. I will start off with the Brule for Smyth Flip.\ Gary apparently has made some friends in Winnipeg. Also offering a twitter retweet if you want to follow there. EJ was a nice touch. I will handle the draft update on picks. TY First pick might involve a trade. Rumors were a flip for the third pick. Oilers would pass on the best player for the better fit that way. The Wings trade out of the first collecting the 35,48 picks First Pick Edmonton Oilers select Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, C Second pick Colorado select Gabriel Landeskog LW Third Pick Florida Panthers select Johnathan Huberdeau C Fourth Pick NJ select Adam Larsson D Fifth pick Islanders select Ryan Strome C Sixth Pick Sens select Mika Zibanejad C Seventh Pick Jets select Mark Scheifele C Eighth Pick Philly select Sean Couturier C Ninth Pick Boston select Doug Hamilton D Tenth Pick Wild select Jonas Brodin D Eleventh Pick Avs select Duncan Siemens D Twelfth Pick Canes select Ryan Murphy D Thirteenth Pick Flames select Sven Bartschi LW Fourteenth Pick Stars select Jaime Oleksiak D Fifteenth Pick Rangers select J.T. Miller C Sixteenth Pick Sabres select Joel Armira RW Seventeenth Pick Habs select Nathan Beaulieu D Eighteenth Pick Hawks select Mark McNeill C Nineteenth Pick Oilers select Oscar Kelfbom D Twentieth Pick Yotes select Conner Murphy D Twenty-first Pick Sens select Stefan Noeson RW Twenty-second Pick Leafs select Tyler Biggs RW Twenty-third Pick Pens select Joe Morrow D Twenty-fourth Pick Sens select Matt Puempel LW Twenty-fifth pick Leafs select Stuart Percy D Twenty-sixth pick Hawks select Phillip Danault LW Twenty-seventh pick Yzerman selects Vladislav Namestnikov C Twenty-eight pick Wild select Zack Phillips C Twenty-ninth pick the Riot select Niclas Jensen LW Final pick of the first round Ducks select Rickard Rakell RW Thanks again for everyone who participated. Thanks for all the positive remarks for my work today. I appreciate the sentiment. See you all tomorrow.

Ehrhoff's rights traded to NYI, then traded to Buffalo
Majsheppard replied to Travis's topic in General
I don't care, I do not want to get involved in this trading for a few days negotiating rights. Also, if I was a free agent I would never allow this to happen. I would call up the team and tell them to ask for the trade to be negated because I intend to go to UFA no matter what. This is teams getting greedy, like hording water. -

Wiz looks like a great fit on paper. Honestly, there is no one that makes me giddy. I just think we CAN and will sign Wiz. So I am okay with that. I really wouldn't mind Ehrhoff either. In fact at this point, I will take anyone. Seriously, there are so few left that I just want some bodies. Just make sure we can trade them at the deadline or later if they are worthless. The cap increase has caused the league to be seriously screwed up this offseason. -
There might be no choice but to leave the money there. Plus it could lead to trades further in the season and make the next two years easier in terms of keeping our own. Other options. Maybe Larsson gets a shot for Osgood. Tatar or Nyquivst perhaps gets called up, in place of Miller or Eaves if not signed. All of this supports my suggestion that we go after Richards. Also, Jagr might be happening now.
-
Also I doubt he would make it to us in a re-entry situation. I was blown away by how little he progressed in the last two years. When the Wild trade came, I was surprised. I am not surprised by what happened in Minnesota, that team is a mess now.
