It is true that TB is vulnerable to getting Stamkos sheeted... but Yzerman would make a trade in the time period allotted to ensure they match. He is the franchise... I actually would love it if they went after Stamkos, he trades Vinnie to make space and ends up picking Richards up to say eff you to Toronto!
-
This one is going to make people laugh... Eklund, the town moron, is actually suggesting that Detroit will try to steal Stamkos via offer sheet from Yzerman... Holy s***, the guy needs to be committed.

This list doesn't mean anything until the teams actually start talking to the players. It is speculation, because if any GM says they want to target a guy it is tampering. You can't target people still under contract elsewhere. People like Ed and Wiz are said to be Wings targets because they make some sense. That doesn't mean we won't go after Richards or Laich or anyone else on the list. In fact, this list did not have the Wings on the Hossa list back when we signed him, until right before we signed him. I also promise you that the Wings have more interest in Bieksa than Ehrhoff.

The only comparison II can think of right now, is your avatar and epilepsy. Seriously, that thing gives me a headache how fast it goes. Edit: No offense intended. Just constructive criticism.

Habs shopping Wisniewksi's rights + for a 2nd rounder
Majsheppard replied to crazy13's topic in General
Thank God WE are not like that... Last time we were in this situation. We filled all our needs and replaced a great player with a worse player generally, that was a better fit and in their prime. Raf fixed problems and was an upgrade. I don't think Wiz is that sort of player, but he is a good fit on paper. If he is such a good fit, we won't miss out on him. Simple. I am not going to be heart broken if we don't sign him, but if we don't sign him and Holland tried his best on July 1st. Then to hell with him. If he wouldn't want to play for Detroit before anyone else, I don't want him on the team. The Wheel on the front, not the name on the back. -

Hudler has trade value. That is why I want to trade him. People who think you can't get anything for him are wrong. Holland must have heard every bad deal offer in the world and a couple of good ones too and haven't found the right one yet. I would suspect at this point that he is with us unless we sign someone better. -
I just say that you make it so something like 40% of their salary stays up. Then 33% buy-out makes more sense in the offseason and you could still get cap relief by sending someone down, just not total cap relief.
-
The first figures suggest that the cap will go up significantly next year as well. I say sign everyone that will help that we can fit under the cap. We can always make a trade. COUGH COUGH CHICAGO COUGH! Sorry I had some Philly phlegm in there.
-
Agreed. I said before the draft that it was a good one to trade up or trade down. Big drop off after the first 12, but the next 40 were solid development picks.
-
Saw it in the video report of him during the draft. Said he often rubs his teammates the wrong way by practicing and using trick moves in games. I have no idea how to track that footage down. It was on the TSN feed. I will pack the suitcase myself. Throw in some vodka and caviar so he doesn't go hungry and we will slip out the back.

The odds of a Jagr deal are decreasing by the minute. A trade would light a fire under the possibility, but the Wings don't seem to have anyone on the line.

Jurco is going to have all the skill needed. He just needs to mature a ton. He is a cocky ****** bag who thinks it is important to look good rather than win. That habit could break him, and many GMs knew this. Worth a risky 2nd round pick though. Only one player under six foot in this draft. Pretty good for one of the smallest teams in the league.
-
I would lower their grade to a B based on some of the risk involved. However it should be a B+ because of their potential and the draft position. I think on a whole the teams drafted very well.
-
There might still be trades to have. But... I thought that was what the internet was for... I know, that is why I said that in response to someone thinking we are out of money. He clearly has money.
-
The Hawks got better too, they got out from under the contract and will have more maneuverability. I don't know about that money issue at all. He was looking at buying the Pistons and didn't. He has a bunch of money, I think we just are dealing with the cap life. 15% chance next year.

So... wasted pick.

Alexei Marchenko is a very good two way defenseman who can be effective at both ends of the ice. He plays an aggressive style back in the zone, but without being unnecessarily dirty. One of his top features is his ability in avoiding PIMs. He is also an excellent team player and listens to the coach’s assigned tasks. Marchenko has a very good technique and puck handling, as well as a very good skating, both forward and backwards. His passing game is well above the average too. His downside as offensive player is that he doesn’t have a great shot and he has to improve in this area. He also needs to bulk up and fill his frame for the more demanding North American game. He has a bright future in front of him. -Russianprospect.com

ALEXEI MARCHENKO Russian D last pick...
-
Seriously... this filler crap on NHL is terrible. Why fill when you have 200 picks to talk about?!?
-
Have absolutely no need for a goalie this year.
-
Thomas Spelling from Denmark would be a good final pick IMO.
-
Good fight. He also hits pretty well, though in that link he kinda went for the headshot.
-
Looking over his fights, kinda turtles too much.
-
The organization is like a magician, they are all "HEY LOOK OVER THERE!!!" While all the scouts go to a country to look at the prospects we tip toe over to some random game and see a fourth liner, write his name down and exit through the back door. Draft genius.
-
This is why the Wings do well in the draft, it always seems they are looking where no one else is. Sweeden breaks a draft record and we are drafting Slovaks. Trend setters perhaps.
