Agreed. The only problem I see with this line of reasoning, there can be some who refuse to let sleeping dogs lie. He could be a problem if he is in everyone face about religion non-stop. I doubt that would fly in a locker room on any team though. If a Lidstrom tells you to tone that down, you don't think it would?

Lol, guess no one wants me running the thread tomorrow. No worries.

He was always inconsistent.

Habs shopping Wisniewksi's rights + for a 2nd rounder
Majsheppard replied to crazy13's topic in General
See my post, they won't. Even if they did lose out on him, not worth a 2nd. We are the Wings. We can sign a UFA. Honestly if we missed out on him and had to go down and sign someone like Andy Greene or Montador. We could take that second pick and trade for someone better. BRYZ WAS TRADED FOR A 3RD!!! That was a while ago, and included the number one goaltender, where there is only two quality UFA's. Liles got traded for a second for crying out loud. Not the rights. -

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. If this were to happen, and I give it a 1% chance. I would demand Holland retires immediately. Ugh, I wouldn't make that deal even if there was a contract in place. Bottom line, he is from here. If the kid wants to play for the Wings he will have his chance to play for us. If he wants money more than that, would they ******* be able to convince him to sign before the UFA anyways? When you are talking about a UFA, unless that guy is going to be the most coveted player at the position why would you give up a second rounder? -
Ales Kotalik to Buffalo. As per @renhockey, Flames will be moving Ales Kotalik back to Buffalo

Honestly, I am not giving Holland credit or damning him. It just seems not taking a player in the first round doesn't matter as much right now as we all figure. Really, if any player we could have drafted would contribute to this year I would be blown away. I don't like missing out on trades, but no one said we could get Burns, or that Burns would ever be consistent. I can't say what will happen, but I just don't get all the hate flying around. Not a great day for the Wings by any means, but not a horrible day. Remember, the draft is dependent on how good you have been doing, and we have been doing pretty good. I also want to say that we should wait and see what happens down the road.

Have to temper that. Maybe so, but that is because he was terrible since he got to Toronto and had a bunch of Draft picks from trades. He also left many better picks on the table because he made awful trades. Factor in his mistakes and this draft doesn't look so great. Oh and he STILL does not have a number one center. We STILL don't have a number two d man, but if we don't get one Kronner moves up, if he doesn't get the Center no one moves up. Really, Bruke still sucks by comparison.

Final pick of the first round Ducks select Rickard Rakell RW Well, that does it for the first round. I am sure everyone is upset. I am not upset, but it feels rather empty. The Wings sure don't seem to be aggressive enough for my liking, but July 1st is a good place to start doing that.

I thought originally that Rocco was going to be our pick, but we would get him later than expected. I get the feeling that this will be what happens. 35th pick?
-
Twenty-ninth pick the Riot select Niclas Jensen LW Also, rioting has broken out in Vancouver. Still could. Would rather trade our first from next year anyways... It is going to be a late first round pick!!! EDIT: Easier for geography sophomores.
-
Complain now, and not apologize later. That is a good strategy in the era of short attention spans.

Two of the picks we have made with our second round in the last few years, Tatar and Calle Jarnkrok. That is two out of four... Not too bad.

I am left reeling (and quite pissed the Wings couldn't get either Richards or Carter!)what will the new Philly team be like? Something also tells me they might not be done. Does this affect our ability to extract a player like Colburn or Carle? Would this make them less or more likely to take Hudler? What about their desire for a center? What does this do to Brad Richards value? Will our younger viewers get the Soap reference??? Who won, Kings-BJs-or Flyers. Answers?

Twenty-eight pick Wild select Zack Phillips C

Yzerman takes another guy the Wings would have in their targets.
-
They should have given up a draft pick to make the move. If I were Florida- I would have wanted a first rounder and Campbell for the biggest scrub in the system. Twenty-seventh pick Yzerman selects Vladislav Namestnikov C EDIT:BOLD!
-
I have a feeling Yzerman takes Rocco. Failing that, he might be the guy to take a goalie.
-
Twenty-sixth pick Hawks select Phillip Danault LW
-
Typical internet --- Spend four hours updating a thread, and all you hear is how you made a typo. Campbell to Florida confirmed. Who would waive a NTC to go to the Florida Panthers?!?!
-
Also not broadcast in the US, except on NHL Network which is unavailable to me. Steaming anyone?

Twenty-fifth pick Leafs select Stuart Percy D
-
I bet they might be using some of these picks to make a move for a Dman. I bet pick 48 might be in on a deal for a Carle, Scudari, Colburn or what have you...

Twenty-fourth Pick Sens select Matt Puempel LW

I am not surprised or disappointed. There is no one that blows you away, and some of the good ones might still be there. Also there might be a move back up. Besides Morrow just taken.
