I heard a rumor that the contract offer was very low. That MTL might have also offered him a slightly better contract but both are sub par by his standards. The fact that Holland asked for an answer before July first and now he says he won't decide until after most likely means that we aren't planning on him suiting up for us. However that doesn't mean we won't go after him later. I think we liked the idea of bringing him in and then being secure in trading pieces away.

Philly has to have more up their sleeves!

It sounds like there might be big moves, that we might not be able to swing. It seems like we might have too much work to do in order to make the team better in trade.

This is going to make LA so much better off. Unfortunately it means one more team competing for players we might want in the Kings.

I don't know what this is going to do to contracts this year. Going into it, people like Richards were prepared to take small pay cuts. I doubt that is the case now. This might be the worst time to have a ton of cap. We might have to overpay. I hope we can get some players on long term contracts that look genius two years down the road.

I just want to point out that I am in favor of moving three of our former first picks right now to get someone to help us win now. Ferrero, Sheahan, and Emmerton are all on my trade block if I was in charge. I am of the opinion that we have so much offensive depth in the farm that I would move these guys to get a boost.

Richards would have fit better in Columbus than Carter. This is the biggest problem with the trades on the Non-philly team end. They should have just flipped the teams.

You don't think he would waive that for Detroit? I don't think that would work. I would think that it would have to include Val or at least throwing in more top prospects. I would hold out for Sheahan, Emmerton, Kindl, Hudler and a top pick. if I was Minny. Could prob get more.

Another thing like the weather, is whether Jagr feels like playing. All signs can point to him making it rain, only for it snow.

Scudari played at the highest level in the league against us in the Stanley Cup Finals and was their best player. He plays with more grit and heart than Montador. Points are not what I am looking for, I think this is the type of player we were missing. I believe we are going to get at least two right handers elsewhere. Not that I hate Montador, I just think Rob could be the way we get rid of Hudler.

This just means that we have more work to do. The Kings just got a ton better, especially if they dump Smyth and can replace him. The odds we make a deal now with the Kings might have gone up. I am hoping Scudari can be gotten cheaply. Maybe Hudler and a pick can do that? Those were two pretty good returns. The Kings deal was better than the CBJ deal, but the cap situation still doesn't feel perfect. I bet he tried really hard to get Hartnell thrown in.

True enough, I don't think anyone is disputing that.

Giroux is a winger in my mind. I just don't know what could have brought on the second trade. Perhaps he thought he would be better off blowing it up.

Did you notice how after the time off went away, the injuries poured in? Doesn't look good for us.

Helen St James is reporting that a contract has been offered. Pit doesn't seem as interested. The third team involved must not be a real destination. If Jagr targeted the Wings, he got his wish. Now we are down to negotiations. Answer is expected before July 1st. I expect an answer before the Draft tomorrow. If Jagr joins the team, the team might go in a different direction in the draft. A trade is going to happen, adding Jagr is going to make the trade bigger. Though that part is speculation.

Who is going to be their number two center? Is Leino coming back to the Flyers?

I thought we might be in on him, might still be if he doesn't waive the clause.
