I expect something to happen first though, and I don't expect this to be cheap. VFil and Hudler might both be gone now. Only if it leads to a Dman, though major dominoes have fallen. It is not a given as to what will happen now. I also expect this to be heating up fast. Let us start talking about crazy scenarios, because things just got nuts this offseason.

Jonas Brodin might be available, and could be just as good as Burns. Just saying. Also with the possible need to trade Val and Hudler, we could get someone better still. I do not know.
-
Oh okay, well then Pavel is a right winger. When Zetter mostly plays at center...
-
We need to draft a defenseman with the first pick this year, but I would trade next years pick.
-
Based on NHL 11 I can trade Hudler for Stamkos. That should be enough.

Best looking trophy ever!!! #NHLAwards Just saying, Ted Lindsay trophy is the best looking trophy ever. Ian doesn't deserve anything, goon.
-
Ted Lindsay award. Awesome.
-
I say we help the Kings out by giving them Hudler to soften the blow of losing their top winger... Maybe get Scudari out of it.
-
Brad Richards.
-
Can we merge these threads together with a more classy title, something befitting the perfect human being.
-
They don't offer the GM position, so I don't think I will apply.
-
Rumor has it that Oilers might trade down to three and take Larsson. This would be an epic shake up and would weaken the Defensive options for us down the road. Though it would be an incredibly smart move by the Oilers.
-
I would love to see us pick up Rob Scuderi in a trade this weekend.
-
Excellent article. Some good names I wasn't even thinking about are there. Including Mitchell, and Rob Scuderi. They wanted a winger bad, and maybe now we can convince them Hudler is that guy.
-
Okay one more... They should be looking for a way to sign their top two Defensemen, not the Dragon Balls...
-
Simply put we have 4 players to sign and enough money to pay them each about 4.7 million and one is just a backup goalie. (assuming we move Hudler) We are pretty good even with the 6.2 million.

20% Wing 25% Penguin, 55% KHL payday. Just saying. I agree with this, but there is the fact that we lost because we didn't play hard enough. We were already more skilled than San Jose, maybe even Boston. We lost from being beat in the battles for the puck, and we would have been beat by a few other teams as well. I do not want him, but he wouldn't be the worst addition for the right price. I have a few forwards I would prefer before Jagr, and I really think we need to be wise with our money.

Best post ever. Honestly, I have found the less I deal with ESPN the happier I am. I have just proven this fact by changing the channel to ESPN and seeing Jim Rome STILL talking about LeBron. It made me vomit, and I cannot be sure if it is the bug I have or ESPN. I guess I need a control group...

I am starting to think that Fil and Hudler will be traded this weekend for a defenseman and Brad Richards will be our number one target. Holland is talking about skill far too much and we have the money now. BTW now we are looking at about four players to sign (one forward, two d, one goalie) at just under 4.7 million per if they all took the same salary to max out the cap without having any extra pieces. That is pretty healthy cap wise. (assuming we move Hudler) I expect four signings two of which will be in the first 24 hours, then who knows. My gut is that one of the defensemen will be the second tier guys Holland likes to go at, Andy Greene fits the bill the most. Tanguay might be available, and if they were to move both Val and Filpulla. I would try to make him a target. 3.5 is what I am hearing he would demand. We can handle that.

They will need 6 more dragon balls in order to get the Stanley Cup. A magical Dragon is what they need to get that wish. If they got the four star Dragon Ball, then Goku might have played for him. A good Kamehameha wave would be the best way to score on Jimmy.
-
Burns seems like a strong possibility.
-
The trade was because the ownership might not pay him and would rather trade him. That isn't going to be a problem in Winnipeg right now.
-
I don't agree with that statement. I really don't think that they had anything in goal to write home about. Now they will have one of the best there is in the game. They undoubtedly have overpaid, but that is what it took. The only thing that matters now is if they can win a championship. I only care about prying Colburn from their fingers and Carter if possible.

I don't think it is speculation. I bet Babs offered him the job and Hitch said no thanks flat out. In the modern era, it is better to just take a job with a sports journalism group and wait for a head coaching position to appear then to take a step backwards.

It makes zero sense to have Smith as a 7th guy. If he is going to be a spare part, have him be that in GR. This however should mean we keep 815k in cap so we can call him up to play. Kindl could be number six and Janik I wouldn't mind as number 7 which would mean savings to spend on someone else. With how little there are in terms of options, I wouldn't expect us to go such a route either. Unless we are going to make a trade. Burns is feeling like a possible scenario. I also would not be surprised if we made a move at the draft. Our season comes down to Hudler and what he can do for us.
