Seriously though folks, we need to start working as hard as the Jets fans did to get their team back in order to get us to go East! Join the movement to get Detroit in the Eastern Conference and look at what our community can do to influence the league!
-
What would you suggest? I am definitely not the expert on this. I simply picked something short for Twitter due to limitations. Anyone who wants to get on board should contact me and just keep spreading the word! Let's get the number of people on board into the thousands quickly!
-
I have established a Facebook page and a twitter movement already! Join me and like "Wings Must Move East" On Facebook! Tweet about #MoveDetroitEast as much as possible and spread the word we deserve to go east! Keep up the ideas and effort, remember if social media and protests in the streets can topple dictators, it can topple Bettman!!! Also does anyone want to help Admin the Facebook page. Looking for someone passionate who knows how to make people take notice! I can only do so much, and need the help of thousands of great Wings fans, but a couple of affluent ones right now would help even more!

#MoveDetroitEast This is the start, Atlanta leaves to go West, Detroit is the only team that deserves to go East. retweet! Join us and tweet this to everyone you know who loves the Wings or hockey!
-
I want them East for better times, we become more attractive to Free Agents, we become cheaper to run as a team, we return to our history of playing rivals like Toronto, and we return to being able to stay up and watch games without having to go to bed at 1 am EASTERN STANDARD TIME!!! I hope since you are from Toronto you might consider going out with a sign in front of the NHL offices at some point, or even organize such events. You could have a huge impact on us becoming a better team overall. I also say that moving east helps the eastern teams financially, so it should be a net gain!
-
Just make sure we know we can't boycott the home games!
-
I agree, so let us start a website and petition. Tweet about it, facebook about it, go out with signs and show the league about it and let us actually stop buying tickets to Western Conference away games to make it known that we are going East!!! Honestly we can just sit back and let them screw us over, or we can make them do what we want. We are the fans, we pay their bills, so we should have our say. The truest form of Democracy is the boycott!

Thanks for the update, I would have never heard of this piece of news. I will say that the original post shouldn't get slammed so hard as it was the general feeling that Stuart wanted to play on the West coast because of his family. I always hoped we traded him back that way before he left for FA as well, not because I hate him because I would not want to lose him for nothing. He always steps up his game in the playoffs and his skills are needed. Yet, I think the fact that he had a NTC for every year but the last one signifies that the Wings were expecting they would have to trade him as well.

I just was tweeting with a sports writer for a Canadian Newspaper and we agreed that Gallant might be a good fit for assisstant coach if MacLean decides to leave.

I was pouring over the stats of many players and then I came to RFA Daniel Carcillo. My question... Do you think he will be able to turn his career back around or did he already make it past his prime? Bonus question? Would he be any use to the Wings? EDIT: I can't seem to format this well...

Interesting possibilities in trading with Philly.

The reason they want to move a big player is Bryz is going to be a Flyer. -
I really wanted it to be Wings Bruins final... sigh. I would have gone to all seven games.
-
Let's go Boston!
-
I have always loved Scotty.
-
Quote from your link. Grimaldi only question is size (5 foot six) the rest is absolute. So yeah Holland will draft Rocco Grimaldi... In the fourth round. Mika Zibanejad is my pick.
-
That's because they enjoy people who play so poorly at the biggest moment and love early playoff exits. It would be nice to get off of the Oldest team in the league status. Or get off the second to last in team height or team weight.
-
I understood why people wanted him when he was in PHX, he was damn good there and showed promise of improving. He has been awful for a few years straight... I just wonder if he could turn it around because he could be a very cheap player.
-
The Boogieman as a replacement assistant coach? What does everyone think of this rumor? Good fit?
-
Why do you think someone would pass on a head coach job to be an assistant here? Is there anyone you actually think makes sense? Bobby won two Memorial Cups which is a pretty big deal. He could be a head coach with more experience and fits what we need in a coach.

One Rafalski retires, another Rafalski is signed. Take a big step this year Adam, I want to see you on the second PP in four years in Detroit.
-
Thomas Tatar, Pulk in prospects. Franzen, Zetter. There are four there, while I would love to have another, I don't consider that the top priority. Besides position has nothing to do with it, the desire to shoot the puck does. Anyone who plays hockey knows everyone falls into a mindset. You either are more confident in setting up or shooting. Position really doesn't fall into that, it is more about your skating ability and how aggressive you are at applying pressure as well as faceoff ability that determines position. We need better defense for sure, but unfortunately losing Rafalski means we lost puck moving d ability as well. Our problem that kept us from winning was not who we had in ability, but who we had in desire. Now we are going to have problems in who we have, and maybe desire. Holland has to find the guys with the right intangibles first and worry about the rest later. If you don't believe it, check Helm vs Hudler, Bert, or Franzen. Helm bests them in only two things, desire and speed. We need that edge to wear on more people on the team. Just look at the top prospects in the system and you know we are thinnest at D, and if we bring up Smith this year we really have only three d prospects worth a damn and they are all at least two more years away and all are number 4 dmen AT best. Although i think Almquivst could be a rafalski type.

I am just rewriting what Pierre LeBrun says, and to be honest he can be hit or miss. He just states that the team failed again and they are looking to shake things up and picked three people, stating that Setoguchi is the most likely to be moved. Personally I would move Marleau asap. If you left Zherdev out I would be okay with that... I would much rather have Tanguay as a cheaper top six guy. I also think you are underestimating EVERYONES contracts that you are adding. You need to recognize that as the cap goes up, the average salary goes up. The inflation is making your offer unrealistic. Bieksa will not take less than four. Nor should he. Five is pushing it depending on the length though. You are thinking he deserves a contract like Stuarts, and he does. The thing you don't realize is Stuart's contract with inflation would be somewhere along the lines of 4.5 which is what a good deal for Bieksa would be.

Bob Boughner. Just do it.

Pierre LeBrun thinks that San Jose could trade some players away including Setoguchi and Pavelski. I would love to aquire Pavelski, if nothing else to keep him from scoring on us!
