They can sign any two players to be the richest players in the league... No problem. Do they WANT to do this?
-
You don't have a press conference usually to announce an extension. This is bad news.

It is foolish to predict as of now. Smith, gustav , and Tatar are the only ones you can realistically say are close enough to talk about. Even then I feel the jury is still out... at least when talking about elite. I don't think there is any reason to think anyone will be elite. I feel Gustav could put 80 pts up for a few years. I feel the same about Tatar. Smith is a top four

I highly doubt we will land a ton of people. However, I wouldn't mind having more free draft picks like this kid and Schultz. I don't think many of these goals happen in the NHL. My hopes aren't going to be high with this kid... but at least he would try to score goals and play hard. If he isn't a puck hound I say don't bother. I would like to see a guy like this in a depth role but we don't have room there. If we could make a big deal improvement... but there is no way what we need will happen. Just make it clear this guy isn't going to be a Hudler replacement. Not yet at least.

f*** YOU AND YOUR 18000 SEAT PLANS. LETS MAKE THE GAME SO EXPENSIVE NO ONE CAN GO! BOOOOOOOO! I AM ******* PISSED! -
Thanks for blocking the footage in the USA... this s*** is interesting as hell to me yet I can never see it because they don't make any effort at all to play it. Johan just scored and I missed it because I am looking everywhere for some sort of feed.

He fits in the accounting section under expenses against the cap.

The Wild have players that pursue the puck.

Report: Luongo officially requests trade out of Vancouver
Majsheppard replied to edicius's topic in General
Welcome to Columbus Luongo. Good-bye Nash. -
I'd respect him more if he publically called out the fans in the series for acting like classless fools. Chanting you suck in a line where Zetter forgives Weber and they both act classy should be a learning moment for the trashy Preds fans.

Okay hear me out. We can't get first, we can only get fifth, sixth, or fourth, and fourth would require a bunch of winning and help from Nashville. Even if we get fourth, it gets us one more home game which might not mean as much as their stellar defense... I am going to say it, the Wings would do better to fall to sixth and face one of the LA, DAL, PHX, SJ bunch... Dallas and LA look like the most likely ones to finish third. We can take Dallas easy, and LA would be tough. The bonus would be no matter what we can say if we fell to sixth, either Chicago or Nashville would be out in the first round. I cannot come up with a better argument than that... yet I have to say it everytime I am at a bar and come across someone rooting for the Wings. Sometimes you have to root for them to lose so they can win. I just hope their are no more injuries, and the team starts looking better like they did against Carolina at times... but beyond that I hope they lose every last game to get to sixth. I figure they need to be at or below .500 to get sixth and playing the last game against Chicago gives us an excellent shot at taking a dive. It needed to be said. 3-4 would do it...

You are all forgetting, he said he would most likely be done when Lids retires. Lids said he wanted to retire when he didn't feel up to hockey anymore. Lids played like a player not up to hockey anymore, and had his ice time go down and while I AM NOT SUGGESTING HE PLAYED POORLY, he did seem less interested than in other years. I think he won't play next year, and I hope I am wrong. If he doesn't, it is quite possible Nill is in charge next year. This whole thread could be null in void. Also, why would Suter and Parise choose to come here? Nashville just proved to be better than us. There are other teams out there that have promise. s***, I think I would go to Edmonton if I were them before Detroit.

him and Lidstrom are prob done. It just feels that way to me.

DOUBLE STANDARDS MUCH?!?!?! I have seen worse, and I would be okay with this hit being punished ONLY IF CONSISTENTLY!!! I swear, the Weber non-hockey thing was worse than this... but not by much. I really am sick of this ******* NHL BS.
-
No, I want all the naysayers who negged me and such to have their crow and eat it too. The point of the thread was to point out we weren't going to beat them in the first round, but we could beat them later on. We needed to get a grove we didn't have yet, and if we played PHX we might have won. WE KNOW NOW WE DIDN'T BEAT NASHVILLE!!! That proves that 6th would have been a better outcome. I took the crap for laying it down how it really was. You folks should stand up and recognize that IT WAS how it was. Eat the damn crow.

I am sorry but none of those four players are going to be here next year.
-
LA is who I would like to see. Ottawa is one of my faves. Hate it or not, a PHX NAS/ anyone and FLA conference finals would really stabilize the game and raise revenues. However, f*** Bettman and his business plans. I hope it is the worst money maker possible. I also hope Nashville loses the next round. Their fans are classless.

I am sorry, but today you learn you have inoperable Red Wings Cancer. his name is... JUST KIDDING!!!

The Franzen contract isn't bad. I stand by the concept that we need another big time forward to allow us to balance the top lines for chemistry. There just isn't any way to put Franzen and Pavel together without destroying that line or the second to compensate. Pavel Fil and Franzen would be the best bet.

I had Nashville making the finals as soon as they drew us. I am sticking with it. I just feel they have an absurd d, and Radulov should provide enough offense for them to get to the finals. I love the playoffs except our series. It was fixed from the get go and Shanny proved that to me. We also are the only team that doesn't race to pucks. I would love a Florida Phx final. It isn't going to happen mind you.
-
I actually hate him. However, he has our number. This is a strategy I would like to adopt. Go after all the people that can beat us by themselves. Klein Scuderi, Pavelski, Sharp and others that just seem to always beat us.
-
1) Cleary actually played better than most of the team on one leg, I wanted him gone before this series and honestly I don't see any clear cut improvement with someone else. I wouldn't be upset if he is moved, but it doesn't have to happen. 2) Smith and Nyquist are going to be on the roster. Tatar might be, I don't sheahan should be at all. Mursak should have been playing the entire year in more situations. Babcock really screwed up there. 3)Helm and Abs will be resigned. However, Abs might be part of the problem. 4) I wouldn't bet on the Wings being able to get either of these guys. Suter just watched his team steamroll the Wings. Why would he want to leave now? I am looking at their cap situation, and they could realistically keep him and sacrifice depth. In fact, he could go anywhere he wants with Parise as they are friends. The Wings will try, but I don't see this as something we should realistically bank on. I also don't think Parise would fix our problems because he would play into the Wings mentality. 5) Lidstrom might not even come back. I don't know what was going on with all the conservative use of him in this series and leading up. He might feel he is too beat up to keep going, or at least that he doesn't want to do it on discount. Bonus: We need to fire Babcock.
