No I read this before on mlive and the freep, Leino and May alone would cover the cost and the player cap. Both will be waived, because no one is going to give us late picks. We would make them look stupid even if they gave us a 7th rounder! Edit: Ah, the article does say that it is 700k for Franzen and 1.2 for Lilja. I would have to say that some defensemen needs to be moved unless Meech is going to play forward and you move two forwards.

I know there are alot of Wings fans in Phoenix, and I keep hearing that the yotes are looking to move Mueller. He was suppost to be a huge prospect, and now he is on rough times... I want to hear from someone in the desert about what his problem is, if he can salvage his career, and most importantly if he would be a good addition via trade if the Wings were to focus in on him. Anyone from Detroit who wants to chime in on whether or not he would be a good target can of course do so, but this is not a rumor or a wish, just a fact finding thread. My personal take is the kid looks like a kid. I haven't seen enough of him to confirm or deny his value as anything beyond what I have read of him.

For pond hockey you really only need skates and a stick. A stick is something you will have to just keep trying out to find what is good for you. Honestly go buy a couple of cheap wood ones with different curves and just try them out. It will take you years to figure it all out because you will get better along the way. Skates will make a huge difference, and you need to learn about it. Go into a quality hockey shop that knows their stuff and ask questions and try on at least one pair from the same price range from every brand. Bauer skates will fit different from CCM and so on. Just find a pair that feels comfortable because that is all that matters, especially for pond hockey. I recomend not spending less then 100 if you plan on using the skates over 3 times a week. However for pond, I use a fifty dollar pair of skates, because they don't get used that much. Really you dont have to worry about spending alot to get started. You will worry about price like 5 years from now when you are starting to get good enough to play in leagues, and you know that the light expensive stick is what you want...

His cap hit is fairly high. I don't think Leino and Meech or Lebda would balance out with Lija and him coming in... It would most likely require moving Williams as well. It isn't something that is likely. It may be possible to acquire him and send him down to GR. I don't think it is going to happen, but I always like to know.

Yeah, but what would you want from them? They really don't have anything worth wild. I cannot think of one player in our price range that would contribute to the team, and they have like zero draft picks. I guess maybe a third for Leino? Maybe we can give him Bertuzzi too!

If Leino and Lebda were dealt together, then the cap would balance out. (sarcasim) Oh wait, no Lilja would still put it over the cap. I would think Lilja would have to be in the trade, that won't happen. This is bulls***. They need to shed one player to keep under the player cap, and thousands of dollars to stay under the cap when everyone comes back. Adding a 1.45 mill player makes no sense. I think that he could turn into a real player somewhere. I just don't see it working out here, with our continuing cap problems.

Trade Leino now!!!! a 4th round pick sounds right. He totally does not play our system, and has been awful in our last losses. I don't know why Babcock replaced Miller with him. I really don't. Get rid of him now before you have to put him on waviers. Meech at least could play the team style.

Except that you only get three years of Pro-Hockey before you need to be called up. I would rather see him get the exact same treatment as every other Red Wing and Make the team when he is older and be a product like Zetterberg or Pavel year one. Which means just let him get in one year in juniors, then let him use his three year contract up and then come to Detroit four years from now.

Boston's mistake? The Eaves for Ward deal was done to clear space to resign Kessel right? Wrong. They just signed Morris for 3.3, a whole 800k more then Ward. While the player might help them, did they just commit cap suicide?

I tell you what, I think they expect Wheeler to replace Kessel straight up. I just want to know what they are thinking about the cap going down next year and Lucic being RFA. Is Morris 3.3 all going to Lucic? If it is, I say we consider trying to get Lucic next year. Provided we can move Stuart's overpriced ass.

Not going to happen. What I would actually look at is the possibility that Boston does resign Kessel and what that means next year. Lucic is a RFA next year. I wonder if the Wings move Stuart (which I assume is the reason they made the no trade clause expire the year the cap is going to fall) and someone else away to clear cap room to attack a cap tight team with an offer sheet. okay I am just dreaming, but Lucic would be the perfect addition to the team.
