When you consider that Hossa will not be back because he IS going to play with Gabs next year, that means that we have an extra 3.79 million to work with in dealing with everyone else. Franzen makes $941,667 and should get near the same deal filpula gets which is 3 flat. That means all that money is gone there. Franzen gets signed and Zetter gets signed for the cost of Zetter and Hossa this year. I think Hudler will be back somehow, but it will require a little more magic. I think the Filppula for 3 million was a bad deal in hind sight just because he doesn't provide what Jiri or Franzen does so to try and ask for them to take any less then 3 million just doesn't work. However, I didn't think they would get Zetter to take less then Pavel. Grab the popcorn.

I still do not see how saying Sloppy seconds is drama. I really don't I have heard way worse stuff in lockerooms. If he used the four letter equivelent I could see this kind of reaction. That is one hell of a contract to eat over such a dumb infraction. Personally I would rather see people like Pronger kicked off teams and suspended for doing dumb s*** on the ice that could actually hurt people, not just their feelings.

BTW Why is Rafalski so far behind Lidstrom? He is playing just as well as Lidstrom this year, we should be voting him equally.

I hate the idea of any city or state getting more then one of the same sports team. There are already so many instances of it that it hardly seems like it will make a difference. I only hope it would be a team from the east or the Preds that would be relocated. I really do not want any expansion teams going east. I want them going west so we can go east.

Hudler played well so far. Babcock pisses me off sometimes, he gives Huds all of three games to prove himself and will hand his job to Samuelson who continues to prove himself a screw-up. I wonder if Franzen didn't score those two goal and Hudler did, would we be seeing Franzen get a demotion? I wouldn't mind seeing cleary get a promotion, but Sammy? Hudler played well on the third line in the playoffs when he was on it. So I am fine with that. Sammy get on the fourth line and off the first PP and stay there will ya?

Yeah I wish Mike Milbury isn't there.... If the cap doesnt change much 8.25 seems plausable. The thought however that he will take Pav's contract is very comforting, but doesn't seem to have any thing to make it likely outside of my greatest hopes. I still stand by the fact that out of all our UFA's we need to keep Zetter and Johan. I would also like to keep Jiri because he seems to be important to the lockeroom. He is a charecter all the guys love.

BTW, if they keep Hossa and lose Franzen I will be pissed. If they lose Hossa and keep Franzen I will be fine. If they keep both I will be stunned. Hudler I don't think we will worry about now because of Leino. I think we will wait and see. I bet things will work out fine. If we are smart Sammy and Lilja will disapear and we will pick up a couple of million to play with. Plus I kinda think Howard will disappear now as well. Lots of options. I orginally thought we would sign both. All i can say right now is I am very happy with Leino. I will say this right now for posterity. Much like I forcasted Johan would surpass Homer. Leino will prove a better player then Hudler. Mind you I expect Hudler with the line his on to put up 60+pts. on the conservative end. I think at some point we may have to decide whether to keep Hudler, Val, or Leino. I think he might be the one to keep.

I buy it. BTW I love how people scoff at someone because they won't state their source. Newspapers do it all the time, you should give a little bit of benifit when someone says this. Not total confidence mind you, but don't dismiss it in the same totality.

I do not agree with Downey being better then Mac. Darren can chip in a little more offense, and can fight just the same. He has to be more trusted in the lockeroom then Downey. Either way the Wings philopshy has been to have a fourthline that will contribute offensively. If they stick with that, then its one of the youngsters. If they buy into the must have an enforcer its one of the older guys. If they want the best of both worlds its Darren. Maybe they will go with the cheapest, which I believe is Darren. Not sure.

It is Leino, but he also could stand to benifit the most by going to a top line in GR. Also he is more expensive to have on the roster then Downey or Mac, although if the Defense situation works out he would be a fine addition. Helms speed is great and I can't wait to see him develop, but I am more intrested in seeing Leino develop.
