NONONONONO Fedorov jumped ship for MORE MONEY, not a chance to win. Oh and he also was a member of the Wings for way longer then four months.

What's the expectations for Zetterberg this season?
Majsheppard replied to Phazon's topic in General
All this depends on how Babcock lines em up. If you put them on the same line, I think it actually will limit production. Just because odds are one of our dmen will pick up at least one of the points most of the time. I do think Hossa has a shot at the Rocket. This guy is the premier sniper of his time. Ove is the heir but Hossa now has the people around him to make him reach another level. I think if you keep Pavel and Zetter together and seperate from Hossa, they will get awful close to their same numbers, most likely slightly better. It really depends all on if Hossa can gain chemistry with someone like Val or Franzen. Of course Babcock could go and foolishly take Zetter and put him on the second line and move Val up front and Pavel's production will slip a tad, unless Hossa is the third guy on the pairing, and then Zetters production will slip. Wait I have gone crosseyed There are too many variables, lets just have fun and watch it all unfold. -
Tickets, when are they on sale huh?
-
Yeah, but then Franzen Val or Homer has to come of the top two lines. Homer I am pretty sure doesn't belong on the third line, and Franzen and Val earned their spots.... I just don't see how you give him top six when he is so good on the third line.

If we lose in the Finals, is '08-'09 season a failure?

Just ask Hossa. -
Official: Wings vs Blackhawks in Winter Classic

Im pissed. WTF can't it be here. We deserve it way more. -
I only worry that all this praise of Larsson is only because of Lundqvist. I really havent seen enough of him to make a decision personally.

What a great deal for TB
-
Man Chicago is going to miss him.

I know, I know, but we can all dream. I just noticed that Daniel Carcillo is still RFA.... I am not a fan of offer sheets, but it would be amazing to get someone like him. What would you give up to get this guy, and his 13 goals and 324 PIMs?

Nashville Calgary Anaheim Oilers Jackets Leafs Avs Ducks In no particular order save Nashville with a bullet. EDIT: I will have to agree with everyone else and add the Pens, I think they were really annoying during this run, and their bandwagon status is sick, although in fairness we were the same way twenty years ago.

Yeah, dumbest bet of all time. That would be like betting that the Patriots go undefeated, they got close but to beat the all time record by that large of a margin is insane. If you made a bet that they won 60 games or even tied the win mark I'd give you a shot.... I mean they were on pace at one point in the year before Feb. to best their record, and we all know what happened. I remember at one point looking and seeing them have to win 4 games for every loss to make it or something like that.

Sorry, but it is going to happen. Burke can only make bone-headed moves. He much rather move Schneider to save money for two guys who cannot decide if they actually want to play.'' It is just a matter of time.

I agree with everyone that Eklund is a pompus ass who makes things up and rarely gets anything right. However this list he came up with I agree with nearly completely and I thought it was worthy of sharing. Some quality adds in there for any team, is there any of them you would like to see go to any particular team? Any additions? SOME KEY REMAINING UFAS The Fab Five (Of Painstaking Indecisiveness) Mats Sundin: Proving money can’t buy decisiveness… Joe Sakic: “looks” to be returning. Should be returning Teemu Selanne: “likely” to be returning. Please return and play in Montreal Peter Forsberg: He is. He isn’t He is. Flip Foppa…. Martin Straka: Is he or isn’t he depends on who you ask in his own camp. True Possible “Difference Makers” Pavol Demitra-The cream of this crop..Vancouver appears to be once again out in front.. Sergei Fedorov-Had a real resurgence in DC, I haven't seen the guy that happy at the rink in a long time. Amazing spot for him, but NJ has some play, as will Montreal. Jason Williams- Really young and talented 27…can play power play point and Chicago will regret not tying him up. IMO Mark Recchi-At the trade deadline he wasn’t moved because Atlanta was trying to get him back Brendon Morrison-Decision coming Monday.. Solid Center. Ladislav Nagy- injury hampered last year… but he is a sniper and maybe the best natural scorer left. Owen Nolan- Huge revival in Calgary, but he should really return to San Jose given the state of affairs True Puck Moving D-Men Steve Montador- Slowly making a name for himself under the radar in FLA. Good alternative to Boyle in Ottawa. Bryan Berard- Proved very valuable for the Islanders last year, could he be Philly bound? Joel Kwiatkowski- talked up highly by many as a one of the best puck moving d-men outside the NHL as he starred for the Wolves in the AHL. The Thrash would be wise to snag him. “C Worthy”: Character Additions and Great Team Players Brendan Shanahan-Any player who can lead the NHL can lead your team. Has already received offers and has always wanted to play in Montreal. Jason Smith-Another go-to-the-end of the earth guy. The Sabres are looking at him and with great reason.. Teppo Numminen-Seriously has potential for comeback player as well. Teppo just does everything so well that you often don’t notice him until he is out of the line-up. Flyers like. Rhett Warriner-One of my personal favorites. I really feel the Sabres to need to jump. Back to Buffalo? Michael Peca-Again Peca will Peck and Prod you. Hate to play against the guy, but love to play with him. Back to Buffalo or Atlanta? Jim Dowd-Huge defensive player who you can put out at any time in any place. Philly or NJ good bets. Grit and Heart Darren McCarty-Really pull for this guy. Was awesome to see him win the Cup. Bryan Smolinski-Bryan can play serious minutes and has the ability to step up. Stu Barnes- Solid shut down forward who has been a cornerstone and staple of the Dallas Stars. Joe Dipenta- Always feel he is perhaps one of the more versatile D-men Solid Depth Forwards Trevor Letowski Sephane Yelle Matt Cooke Sergei Brylin Chris Gratton Jeff Hamilton Randy Robitaille Brad Isbister Aaron Asham Martin Lapointe The Solid Depth D-Men Nolan Pratt Marik Malik Jaroslav Modry Bret Hedican The Comeback Players Could Be’s Sandis Ozolinsh Geoff Sanderson The Specialist Yanic Perreault

Yet if he signs with them next year, this same guy will praise him. This is getting out of hand, we are much more hated then I ever realized. I hate the internets sometimes.
-
I think this is slightly oversimplification. We still don't know how Filpulla fits in, or if any of the "interchangable players" will blow up or fizzle out. Yes maybe he is willing to put these deals together, and it could happen I just wouldn't bet on it. Franzen is prob going to get at least 4 million if he has any sort of a year, so that 3 million is absurd. Assuming the cap will continue to rise is not wise either. Truth is, Holland will do what he can for the team, and it really is too soon to make any predictions for next year.

I totally understand, but some of this is crazy. I cannot fathom how some people are trying paint Hossa as greedy for NOT taking a huge contract from the Oilers. Or that he betrayed the Pens. He was a penguin for all of a third of an NHL season. It would be way different if it were Malkin or Crosby. Just as you said Pens fans are upset, you have to admit that some are going too far. I would care a bit more if I haven't gone to games at the Mellon arena that had less then 2k people in them prior to the gift of Crosby. We were in the same boat in my lifetime so, I wish you well. Finally with all the "players" lost, the Pens did prob the second best job of cap management in the entire NHL this offseason, and replaced some guys with more players. If they can find chemistry they will once again be the best in the East. I suggest you enjoy your next season, it looks to be a good one.

it is just so hard to say we don't need you to someone like Chelios.

Behind the Scenes look of Wings Championship DVD
Majsheppard replied to NeverForgetMac25's topic in General
I wish Chelios would guest star on scrubs next year and bring the Cup. I could write that episode. Make him all like JD for that episode try and get him to be a mentor to him. Lol. Janitor would inscribe his name on the cup.... I am halfway done already!!! -
BTW, did anyone notice the Sweedish guy brought this up?? He is more offended then myself, who lives in the City. I just find it kinda funny. Maybe we in Detroit are just so used to it, we can't care anymore.
-
We haven't really discussed the possiblity of Lids playing a low amount of games in his career because of the absurd amount of Defensemen we have. Obviously you want your best player on the ice, but he is also the oldest regular starter on the Defense. Odds are he will get alot of rest at regular intervals. I don't know how many games that will be, but I would guess 10 or so throughout the year heavy on the back end. That may hurt his point totals. Only Babcock and God really knows, I know Holland wont share.

You forgot Kronwall, and I am not even joking.

I don't give one rats ass about what ESPN thinks about anything. Period.
