It is my belief that Helm will start the season in Grand Rapids and Kopecky will take his place on the fourth line. However I am not sold on it staying that way for the entire season. This isn't a rating of their skills, I just think Helm going down and being protected is valuable in itself.

Actually its a compliment to the team. Read it like this... You could go live in LA where everyone wants to live or you could go to Detroit where there is a shot every year at winning a championship. You know no one wants to come to Edmonton over NY or LA, but when it comes to playing hockey it was once like that, and we really want to get back to there. If it turns out 2.25 I will be so happy. I would rather he just come in and make a contract, this is very unlikely for him to get paid so much that he doesn't get back in the Wheel but if it is then I will be upset.

The NHL would not let us win the lottery, they would rig that for sure. Although, I still think that I would rather have a top 10 pick then Val, just because we most likely will find another amazing depth player like Val somewhere, and adding a blue chipper could give us two amazing players. I really do think that Hudler is ready for more ice time anyways. I love Val, but losing him in exchange for at least a first rounder won't make me lose any sleep.

Hossa has scored 100 points before, and Hank and Pavel are getting close. Will we have three 100 point men on our team? Will Hossa chip in 50? I actually am hoping Homer does get turfed from the top line, he is best on the PP between Lids and Ralf. Zetter Pavel Franzen Homer Filp Hossa I might even suggest him going down to the Fourth line and getting top PP time. If you demand a Z P Hossa line, may I suggest putting them as the SECOND power play line? Think about this boldness, Lids and Ralf paired with Franzen homer and Val so Franzen and Val can fight for the puck down low and Homer can screen for those rockets, meanwhile if they don't get the job done, the second line would be Kronner Stuart and ZPH or the (zounds-goals per hour line?) would get that stuff done. Think about how many times the euro twins drew the penalty anyways, they should get a quick minute rest before going out and playing clean up. I bet they would be the best PP unit in the league. the rest of the lines would shake out according to who shows up, and I will be the first to say I suspect that Maltby may be shorted minutes this year. I wouldnt at all be surprised to see the lines end up being Draper Helm Cleary Kopecky Hudler Sammy They will mesh because its only one person to bring in, and he is hungry and plays our style of game. Franzen is more important then anyone save Zetter to sign next year. Just to set the record straight.

I heard 3 groups of people in my travels today discuss Hossa and hockey in an ignorant fashion. The point is they WERE talking about hockey. Sellouts may still be sporatic, because this doesnt solve the economy. No doubting that this made the expectations of the Wings a repeat, and Detroit loves a winner. They have offically usurped the Pistons position, and if the Tigers miss the Playoffs, they will surely be number one in the D again.
