Holland did nothing of the sort, if you go to the press conference you will here him say what happened. He gave a modest long term offer to Hossa, not expecting anything, knowing that he said he would like to be a Wing. When he told him he was going to make a decision tomarrow and that we were still in the mix holland waited. In the morning his agent asked if we were willing to do a one year deal. Holland said yes, and when the said money, he said I promiced Nick Lidstrom no one would make more then him. Hossa said deal. Holland didn't bend him over, Hossa wanted to come and made it well known he was willing to compromise. Its huge testiment to Holland that the Organization is so respectable that it can cause this kind of behavior in a guy that 4 months ago said he wanted to make the maximum.

How can anyone be unhappy with any aspect of this team. Greed unbound. You are missing something, Lebda has wheels for sure. Beyond that he is pretty standard. I personally think Lebda moves faster when moving up the ice then moving back. Meech makes a better pass, has better on ice awareness in the offensive zone, his foot work laterally is better, has better hands, and a better shot. I will say that right now Lebda has better poise and defensive positioning, if he was only more patient.

Ericsson isn't going anywhere, Quincey is still going to get a shot at the team. A longshot, but a shot never the less, unless Val gets a big offer we have to match.

Colorado didn't just win the cup if I recall correctly, as for the tigers.... They weren't really a well rounded team, they had an identity and strenghts and went out and tried to strenghten those up. Instead of sureing up their weaknesses. We on the other hand won a cup and our greatest weakness was secondary scoring, though not enough to really stop us from winning. We just sured that up like no one could ever. This is like if the Boston Celtics went out and signed Kobe Bryant this offseason. EDIT: Oh and they got him to take 30 percent less then he was able to.

Rozival is frickin a good player IMO. Yet Stuart and Kronner are better and are getting paid far less. We are spoiled spoiled fans.

Yanic Perreault, C I love this guy for one reason, he wins face-offs. He is a vet and would fill a fourth line need perhaps.

I really like Brian Smolinski, on the fourth line that is. I didn't think he was available.... Nolan has turned down us trying to aquire him before because he wanted to stay put, I kinda think he is done. No others on that list peak me.

You can make the case for Chicago. They were the only team in the West to have a winning record on the Wings, and they added the best Goaltender and Defensemen (depending on who you ask) in FA. Plus their core is young and improving. I don't think they are better then the Wings, but you can make the arguement.

I'd rather bring him back then sign Bertuzzi.

Worst place for him to go. That system is going to wreck his stats, I also don't think they are going to make it to any more finals unless something drastic changes. We will just have to aquire him in four years at the dead line now.

I didn't say they were going to get him, but he put an offer out there and will wait and see if he takes it before making a move on someone smaller. Just imagine if he signed Ryder or someone like that for 3 million then Hossa accepts a deal on the table and now we have to move someone!!!!
