PHX had the best draft, and I am not including Olli in that. If they go out hard and get Campbell or Reddin and perhaps another top four they will be the most improved team.

I think PHX needs to go hard after the top Dmen out there. If they can snag a top two and a top four Dman, they are definately making the playoffs. If I were Wayne I'd demand Campbell to go with Ed. Then try to pick up Liles, Rozival, streit, or someone and then dominate.

To be honest, only Oprik, Pascal, Fleury, Staal, and Hossa impressed me in our series. Malone I wanted, but now I do not.

I actually said in a thread before the season ended, I expect within two years every single central team to be in contention for the playoffs. I am thinking even more so of it now.

WTF is Philly doing to their team??? Serriously. Prospal had great chemistry with Briere, gone. Umberger was the second hottest goal scorer in the playoffs up to the point they were beat. I think they screw with their roster way too much.

I couldn't agree more, even though I like Stuart. Wade would be like getting another Nick Lidstrom, a poor man's of course. Plus I don't think it would be for that much, he has been down for a while and if you snap him up while people are gushing over Campbell then you would be fine. I did note that Scotty really likes Brian.... I have to say that I disagree with the concept that we cannot pay a Dman more then Kronners 3 million. How much has the cap changed since we gave Kronner that contract? I think if you gave Stuart 3.5 then it would most likely just account for inflation via the cap??? I really think making a hard line isn't a great idea. You can give him 3 million adjusted via the cap. The team philosphy should be to have a pay grade for role, but things change year to year. Let us say that Franzen has a sick year and puts up like 60 goals, and wants to get paid. Would Kenny play hardball because he doesn't want to pay him more then his idea for a third forward? Is he going to refuse to pay Zetter more then Pavel, even if he demands nine million?

Check out the draft prospects. I do not remember there being so many right handers on the top end. There could be 8 righties going in the top ten. Also the rankings have alot more defensemen, many of which are "undersized" but are described as great puck movers. As another thread stated this is a trend that just was started because the Wings dominate. I wouldn't mind picking up a few more righties, if nothing else I can buy their sticks during the sales. Any thoughts, or any other draft quirks you have noticed?

I'd trade Lebda and keep Meech and Quincey and the lot. Of course that would be dependent on Stuart. I don't think you would get much more then a third for them, but a third to us is like a first to any other team anyways.
