Before I go to my NHL REFEREE class this afternoon, in the below pic I should: A) Call him for goaltender interference, and disallow the last 2 goals, and also two goals from last week? B) Call Homer for goaltender interference and give him a game misconduct and a noogie? C) Allow the opposing team's goalkeep to skate over and kick him in his mouth? D) Automatic 2 million game suspension? EDIT E) Skate over and rooster tail him in the face, and kick him in the nuts - per three posts down there. thank you wingsfan75 I'm trying to learn. aloha

The last hockey game I've been to was a Spitfire game. The refs were met by the Windsor Police at the dasher boards at the close of the HORRIBLY called second period. The cops also led them back to the ice to begin the 3rd. I agree with you. Much the same way I feel about politicians - I would like to see A LOT more turnover in the industry. Tired of hearing about 'experience'. Doesn't seem like it helps.

See that's just it I guess. This isn't a training league. It's the Red Wings of the NHL. The only place in Detroit for a guy do on-the-job-training is with the Lions. Come NHL playoff time. you can't run with the dogs if you're gonna piss like a puppy. He's had "a few years" now, and all I see is a 5 on 4 every time he's on the ice. So I guess the answer to your question is: "A few years."

Reminds me of a story from years back in MI........HEY! Stop clicking! Set still. Damn. OK now.................. So it's first thing in the morning, and I'm smashing my gutters with a spade shovel. (So far so good yeah?) They were full of ice like ^^up there^^ only with about another 2 inches covering the outside of them and with some LARGE icicles hanging to the ground. Didn't know if the gutters were going to remain connected to the fascia for much longer. Also that roof was a 3/12 pitch so 'ice dams' were a legitimate concern. So I'm smashing away, smashing, smashing - 2-handers, backhanders - and the next thing I hear is the head of the shovel snapping off the handle and then HEAR it wizzing right by my left ear at about 5000 mph. Must've missed my face by an inch. Just one of those instances where ya kinda stand still, look around, take a deep breath and just walk away.

On a lighter note though: This is further proof that I really gotta stop screening my calls during the intermissions. I had this feeling back in the late 90's that Bowman used to try to get ahold of me for some gametime incite - this just confirms it. That whole team has my number and I shall now just pick up. Here's all I know about Big Stick Nick. Exactly like when Vladdy was on the ice: When I see the puck enter our zone, and then note that Nick is the one falling back to engage, I get that exact same feeling - a feeling of "Whew - ah - ok - everything is gonna be OK for now. Nick's got 'em." Y'know? Like my stress level is allowed to drop to zero for 28-30 minutes each game. I appreciate that. aloha
