EXACTLY.....could not agree more. Watching hockey on some nights, I do NOT care how good the D is or the scoring should be or how hot the goalkeep is - if you're getting pushed around like a bi**H every shift and no calls are being made? You're not going to win that night. Complain all you want that night - OR - have someone who can take care of it in the first period next time.

In the time it's taking me to type this, Captain Yzerman could have ANY player on this roster pack their bags, board a bus and get sent away to wherever. Quicker than Babcock could is my guess. Besides, the risk? League minimum and a few months of regular season hockey.....maybe 5 minutes ice time a night. Max him out at 8 minutes. Hell - scratch him or bench him. I voted for Manny. (Kind of a bummer we have these 2 to choose from.) I'd just like to once again thank Bettman for coming up with a system that forces successfully run, winning, 100 yr old teams to rebuild in 60 days! While the shoddy, neglected, unpopular, poorly managed, short-term teams just sit back and whip out a stack of contracts and the checkbook and drink a glass of "Insta-Contender". I agree this "Datsyuk and his agent thing" is starting to get that Sergei vibe. That smell only gets worse with age. I do not want to see him go anywhere. Ditto for Zetterberg. I also agree with the above post about Drury. That guy has some voodoo magic over the Wings. Tired of seeing him drive games into OT because he scores with 10 seconds left. And then maybe scores the winner. We'd be better off somehow signing Drury for one season and then just benching him. He needs a time out. If Stevie could line up with Datsyuk and Zetterberg for awhile? Stevie's game may have changed, but you don't put the biscuit in the basket 700+ times and just forget how to score all of a sudden.

Can't we just move Legace up and spend elswhere right now? Most small market teams will be doing the exact same thing a year from now. The Wings can relieve them of a goalkeep at their leisure at a later date. Maybe for a bargain.
