I live in Raleigh, so i'm praying for a canes/wings final. It's going to happen too, bank on it.

I'll also point out, that with a terrible call against the wings,...things are going to go the wings way call wise from now on.

I want to see what Thomas does against an unrelenting, crease crashing opponent. I'm just not sold on the guy, sorry. Ward is playing out of his mind right now and the Canes are riding an enormous wave of momentum. Don't get me wrong the B's are a great team, but I think carolina might have this in 7.

Believe it or not, we bought out Whitney,...he got another name in Carolina "the wizard" for his unbelievable shooting accuracy through a mess of guys. I'll take who we've got any day though, and this coming from a guy who watches a lot of canes hockey ( I live in Raleigh)

To be honest, we're facing some of the same problems. It's the motivation that will determine who wins this year. Remember that series against dallas when they were scoring at ozzie from center ice? Everyone said we were done. We weren't, we arn't, and until someone beats us in a 7 game series we're the stanley cup champs.

I've watched quite a bit of Canes hockey latley (i live in Raleigh). I gotta agree with a few guys and disagree with a few others that Staal is that teams MVP. Or rather, the combo of Staal and Cole are. Ward has just been consitant this year. He's great at times, average at others, but he hasn't dipped into the land of suck like he had in years past. Simply put he's just been an NHL starter. The same could be said about Staal, but since the return of cole (and subsequent pairing of rutuu with Staal and cole) that team has been on fire. i can't think of another trade in recent memory that has worked out so well for a team. Before Cole's return clingy to the 8th seed for dear life. After Cole's return, Domination, to the point they're in 4th.

Size and strength wise? yeah, totally. Skills wise is a different matter. The only way a woman could play in the NHL is if she was A. a goaltender or B. Fast and aware, like Steve Sullivan M. St. Louis fast. Even then i've seen both of those guys get rocked, that's not something the hockey public would want to see a pretty young female hockey player have two of her teeth knocked out by Dion Phaneuf (points to the first person to make a sloppy seconds joke) The problem with the woman goalie scenerio is that Most goalies are either very large and cover up a lot of the net (or have padding that makes them that way) or have incredible positioning and agility. The latter have a tougher go of it obviously and it's pure skill. A woman goalie would have to be in the best shape of her life to play the position AND be incredibly dexterious. Will it happen, (beyond the lightning's gate stunt) Probably, but women's hockey has to come A LONG way for that to happen. Playing a few times every couple of years isn't going to get it done.

Um, Cammi Granato Much? She's already the first woman inducted into the U.S. Hockey hall of fame.

I just think it's crazy; obviously like i said, hockey is secondary. But a few days ago Kovalev was Lazy and he sucks. The media and that entire organization hung him out to dry. Now, i bet he goes to a team not in a tail spin and goes off the wall.

A thought popped in my brain about all this,.... Hockey comes second obviously but, what if Kovalev knew all this and that's why he's been in a funk all year. I wouldn't want to be a team with that going on either. Who wants to bet, he gets called back up, goes F#$king crazy and becomes a hero again.

When he wants to be he's among the best players in the game, when he doens't he's among the worst. He's very jagr like that. If he lands somewhere other than MTL he'll be fine. I'll say this, Montreal and Russians don't seem to mix, they sent down one of the brothers and now Kovalev,.....Remember Samsanov? He was doing much worse than Kovo and manged to resurect his career in Carolina. Also more than anything this shows what a total joke the all star game is.

Pavel is freaking brilliant. If he ever learns english the way Lidstrom knows english, he'll be a mega star in this league, he's very charming.
