right,...uh huh,..cause there's a direct corilation between your two points. None of us are arguing about how it's effecting ratings,...we're arguing how certain goalies in the league are gaining an unfair advantage by wearing Pads two or three times what is actually needed. Your point actually backs up my own. Equipment has changed, goalie pads are much safer and lighter than they where 20 years ago, so having them be two to three times larger is pointless.

he won't even make it to the playoffs with smyth and now svatos out.
-
basically, the people defending the usual suspects of goalies,...Giggy, Legacy, Luongo, etc. Are mostly young people who never saw Ron Hextall, Grant Fhur or Andy Moog play the game. It floors me to hear some people sprout on and on about "well you never played goalie etc. etc." I played goalie with 1980 pads the other day, i got them for cheap. After a couple of seasons i got brand new pads. Suddenly i'm the next Dominic Hasek in my local beer league. There is a huge freaking difference.
-
really? works just fine for me,.... well here's another example. Andy Moog,..probably around the same time period,...look how small his equipment is compared to yet another example from jiggy. http://www.allducksgraphics.com/wallpapers...s/giguere08.jpg

Look man,..i know you like your team,...we all like our favorite teams but please look at the two pictures and tell me something isn't wrong about that. Yes what giggy does is legal,...but so where Banana curve sticks for a while before the NHL cracked down in the 60's. If the NHL makes giggy wear what Fuhr is wearing there, do you really think he's going to be successful?

http://www.pe.com/imagesdaily/2007/04-12/ducks12e_386.jpg Okay we've done this before, but look at giggy,....look at the freaking size of his chest pad, it's enormous. Now look at Grant Fuhr, from probably,....88. http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/224010.jpg?...84831B75F48EF45 And people wonder why scoring is down, are you freaking kidding me?

it's a pretty well established trend that goalies who need lots of shots (like luongo) don't do very well in motown. Hasek has adjusted due to his age and experience, but a young goalie like Bobby lou might not do have as well as people would think only facing 13 shots a game.

Should he? Yes, Will he? Not a chance in hell. An to any person who tirelessly tries to defend his actions over and over again,...please tell me where we should place the blame on the sad state of the NHL right now. The owners? Which ones? The players, that was debunked post lockout, the fickle fickle fans,...utter bull-hockey (pun intented) He's the guy in charge,....it's no more stupid than every slack jawed college kid in america blaming every problem our country has on Bush, but ya know what? A good bit of it actually is his fault, and since he's the guy in charge he deserves a good share of the blame. If a team is tanking despite a good roster, the coach is the first to go. That's just sports, So why is our great and wonderful sport being run by a guy who is almost univerally hated across the board?

Before all the freak injuries started to pile up Kronner was the MVP of nearly every swedish tourny he played in. No matter where he's played he's been a top end D man. Is he there yet? No,...but his improvments year after year are phenomial,..now if he can just stay healthy.
-
A MONSTER ****** even,.....
-
i'd like to see federov,....but as was reported at the deadline,..some people in the wings orginsation were hesitant to trade for him. Will see. i'd also love to see hossa if we can afford him. Stillman would be great to if he doesn't re-sign in carolina.
-
We need this one bad,.....
-
what's really amusing to me is the hawks track record with injured "star" players. Daze, Ruttu (before the trade), now havlat. I think the team doctors over there just plan must suck.
-
without the idiot penalty to lilja,....this is a win.
-
I see a D man getting waived,...with stuart up there having lilja and lebda is just retarted.
-
here's my thing, i know he hasn't played yet but honestly,....i think ken holland is crazy like a fox. Detroit has made a habit of taking players that had "lost it" and turned them into extremely effective players. Look at Dan Cleary, before he came here he was basically out of the NHL, now he's a pivotal part of this team. For D look at what Markov did last year, he went from a guy who had potential but never really lived up to it, to a guy who had a career year (granted his D partner was nick lidstrom so,...that's a big reason) Lilja (sometimes,...not tonite though) Samuelsson (when he's not sucking) we're a team that seems to resurrect careers and i think stuart is going to be no exception. When this season is over, i think we'll find he'll be a force And lets not forget! Sammy is off the point! that alone makes this deadline a success!
-
seeing ericson, meech and quincy out there shows me there is ZERO and i do mean ZERO need on this team for lilja. He doesn't use his body He has an awful shot He fights maybe twice a year and oh yeah,..once every three months he directly attributes to losing a hockey game. He needs to go to make room for someone else.
-
i'd put meech up there first,...but that's just me.
-
you know what,..i'll bite,... that's the second time i can remember lilja losing a game for us. The other was a pivital game 5 against the ducks where he gave selanne the game winner. You can say whatever you want,...this should have been this,...that should have been that,..but at the end of the night Lilja will play great all night then make a bone head move that gives away the game,....he's gotta go.
-
meech is a freaking monster.
-
this is why we got stuart,...because lilja CANNOT be trusted in game breaking situations.
-
there's no way we don't make a move now. We won't sell our future,..i bet not a single roster player makes a move off our line up. but that's how we do things around here.
-
with this deadline the way it's been, and the ducks getting selanne and nediwiner back, Ottawa's gotten better Colorado (who could be our first round opponent) has gotten better Montreal has gotten a crap load better Dallas has gotten the one thing that's always prevented them from moving forward,...secondary playoff scoring as i mentioned the ducks got better since the begining of the season We have to make a move if we want to stay competative. This team isn't good enough right now to win the west, let alone the cup.
-
they tried to make me go to claaasss and i said,..no no no...
