That goal he scored, won us our first stanley cup in 52 years That fight he had in march of that year,...that helped too. so did the game winning goal from that same game. He had problems,...sure He spent his money foolishly and probably deserves to be where he's at. Like it or not, if you became a redwings fan after 97, you did so in no small part due to Darren McCarty. Without him fighting Claudia there is no cup. It showed everyone we would not be initmidated Without that goal the avs would have won that game, and the battle of the joe, would have lost all significance. Without THAT GOAL we'd still be looking for a championship (you could argue we'd have got 02' but no way we win 98 without winning 97 first). You don't like the guy,..cool But his place in Red Wings lore, is right up there with all the greats who wore the winged wheel.

ozzie just seems to be able to handle these >20 shot games ya know? he never was a goalie that needed alot of shots to stay sharp. We all know hasek can be tempermental,..what are we gonna do if he doesn't play to ozzie's level?

Again you're seeing so big a picture you're not seeing the finer points. It's bad for the league period. Recently an NBA referee was nailed for point shaving. Recently a star NBA player has complained that league was fixed granted your example works,..but throw in a rumor that a large majority of NBA refs are child molsters and suddenly it's not so far apart now is it?

personally i can't stand when someone shows up wearing a jersey of a team that's not even playing. it's a different situation here in Raleigh though,...for example when i went to the sabers and canes game (bitter rivals btw) i saw a sharks jersey, an islanders jersey and a bruins jersey,....they stuck out like sore thumbs.
