Let me clarify my argument isn't that leagues are only intrested in making money , the difference is they make money, and make SMART moves to make money. The NHL does not. Everything you've listed,...has worked, Everything i listed is something the nhl did that didn't come close to working.

There would be riots in this country if suddenly bud sileg goes,..."well the yankees and red sox are storied rivalers,...but i'd rather have them play the royals and brewers 15 times a year instead. So i'm going to move them out of there divisions and make sure they play each other once, every two years". or in football Detroit vs. Green bay? Dallas vs. Washington? Naw,...lets have the texans play the newly expanded Portland rain clouds on thanksgiving day from now on! um not when refs in your sport have been accused of fixing games, then it's not even close to innocent.

you will never,..ever,..ever,..win a stanley cup with only guys who are pure skill. Every Stanley Cup champion dating back as long as I can remember had one guy on there who did nothing but work his ass off every shift. Ellis plays playoff hockey in October,..if he's still doing it in June, he should have a place on this team.

Common Gary, when T.O and Detroit (two of your biggest draws at the gate league wide,..i'm talking more than just home games,...we play phx,...it's a red wing crowd) come up with an idea that's please to the fan, you say no. This idea would help alot with the travel constrantes on the wings, despite playing two more games,..but bettman is hell bound on keeping the wings playing western conference teams as much as he can.

um,...no it's not. It's saying, I the great gary bettman have fantastic idea, totally unrelated to the fact that most teams hate the schedual! We'll have a new schedual, were everyone can see crosby play once. The thing about Common sense is that it's not so common. How about the new Jersey's, they being slaughtered by the fans, the players, and the media. What does gary do? Come out with a statement to the effect of "everyone is really impressed with the new jersey's, they improve the game." He's a tinker, everything always has to be fixed in gary land. If he messes up, he doesn't admit guilt,..he just sidesteps it and comes out with a new idea watch,....if Bettman goes along with ESPN and gets off versus, the word "i made a mistake" will never come out of his mouth. I live in North Carolina, so do at least three other people on this board.

He wants to quiet some of the public debate on scheduling,... Gee wonder why,...could be because everyone hates the schedule, but you won't admit you messed up.

well,...i'm assuming something like all 30 league owners will have to vote him out, and i'm also assuming it would have to be by a large margin. None of which will ever happen as the owners love Bettman.

i'm sure someone who thinks their smarter than me, will come in here and tell me how wrong i am. But for once i'm going to do a LGW rarity. That's right folks, i was wrong. I was wrong about Aaron Downey. Anytime there was a debate, about if we needed a guy like him on our roster vs. anyone else. I was staunchly in the "what does an enforcer do?" catagory. After this game (and yes, it's one fight, one game,..i know that) I'm here to say i was wrong. Kyle Mcfairy is a punk, he ran our best players, tried to injure Z and generally ran around the ice like a kindergarten bully on coke. The whole time i'm watching this, i'm going,..man i wish someone would fight this guy. I'll say this off the bat, he's not Bob Probert, but when it was his shift, he answered the damn bell. He went right over to him, said "lets go" and stood his ground. After their fight (which i give downey the edge) the sharks we're complety deflated and the gooniery stopped for the most part. I want to see what this does for us in the long term. I'm still not convinced totally, but if he can keep this up and the effect keeps up. I might turn into an enforcer slappy yet.

That when Franzen comes back, our team is going to look better on the ice. I just checked the GDT and Kopesky is on the second line,...gag. I know he's not the rebirth of cam neely or anything, but i think he could pot in 20 and maybe jump start flip too.

I'm not hating on Kopecky, but even you have to agree with in saying, he's not a top six forward. He's more suited for 3rd and 4th line duties at least at this stage in his career he is.
