so i'm watching the Carolina/Pittsburgh game. Towards the end of the first period, carolina is attacking the zone and a penguin gets the puck and tries to clear it out of the zone, by way of the boards. Well a ref is against those boards so he jumps into the air dramaticly trying to avoid the puck,....right into Nick Wallin. It was ridiculous, Wallin is trying to hold the zone and all the sudden the butt end of a zebra comes flying at his nose. Anyway, he decks Wallin and the poor guy gets up holding his nose, after the ref's butt destroyed it. So to answer Sir drakes question, A ref didn't quite fight a player, but he did ass check him in the face.

rafalski adds something we havn't had on this squad in a while. His passing really opens up the ice. Before lids and matty would just stand there and blast the puck, most of the time it didn't work so much. For example last year,...we don't score that pretty goal on the 5-3, because they never try that down low pass.

Marleau just needs to get the hell off that team. There's about 4 teams in the NHL he'd be a superstar in, and SJ needs a few things. I know he's the captain but i can't help but htink if there's another early exit he's out.

one thing i don't get is why NA players go to russia. With the way things are done over there i'd be scared to death. It's a lot of money but i dunno.

Hey man,..i teach 5th grade,..trust me, they may not be in kindergarten but you'd swear there were some kids hopped up on something out there. Normally they run the playground too, until another kid comes around and whoops their tail. I got one in my class, obnoxious little fart. A good foot shorter than everyone but thinks he's 8 foot tall. He had been picking on this one kid all year calling him fat, and stupid when i wasn't paying attention. Well one day they're on the playground and that kid drops him to the ground and beats the heck out of him,....i took my time breaking it up

Right, and that's what we need. I'm not a propent of a huge monster of a player who fights Derek Boogard because Brian Rolston slashes Pasha and breaks his fingers. That's pointless in my opinon. I want a guy who actually goes after people with a purpose. When we play the ducks and pronger is doing his usual goon stuff, i want someone to knock his block off, not whoever plays for the quacks who's a fighter.

no doubt,..i'll happily eat crow all day if it's about wings players excelling. Now,..i'd love to eat crow about Kopsky and grigs.

Yeah i'm mystified why the kings havn't tried someone,..anyone to play. I'd have thought by now cujo would have signed there.

Spectors reports that Carolina wants to shop for an offensive D man. They tried very hard in the offseason to aquire one but where unsuccessful because one of the players listed in the trade (walin) wouldn't waive his no trade clause. The other bait? Eric Cole. Now, we've got quite a few young D men. A few of which are of the O-D varity. Lebda and Kronwall specifically. Now the price for Cole might be a bit steep, and he's a bit injury prone (same as kronner) but after watching this kid play for several years, he's lights out. Seriously, he's every LGW fan's wet dream. Big, physical, Power Forward who scores 25-30 goals a year. I'm not saying Carolina would ever trade him, but for what it's worth (and tha'ts not much) the rumor at the draft was they were shopping him and walin for erhoff. Surly we can put together an offer for him? (yes i also know, that the canes owner and the wings owner, do not get along)
