truer words have never been spoken, i havn't lived in michigan since 1994, during that time the lions sucked and the wings did okay but never made to much noise in the post season. almost 15 years later i've seen several trips to the western finals, 4 trips to the finals, 3 cups, several presidents trophies etc etc. the lions,..um,....had barry sanders,......man that guy was amazing,...um,.....hmmm,.....yeah,.... a lions fan could teach a maple leafs fan a lesson in waiting for a winner,...and that my friends is saying something.

i've been cross checked in the thorat, not a fun thing to happen to a guy. I remember it was completely debilitating and after it happened i had to crawl to my bench, choking from the shock. Then i got mad, really really mad. It's a despicable thing to do to a person, because it's almost impossible to do on accident and it's something that's going to injure someone no matter how you do it. A big hit in open ice is cool, even a slash or heck even a spear can at times be something were it wasn't ment to be as bad as it was. But if a guy checks you in the throat he's meaning to take you out of a game.

Now about this year, Yeah everybody said that about them when they got Jagr, but we both know Jagr is a highly temperamental athlete and despite being a bit cocky, i don't see AO as being like that. He's played for much crappier teams than Jagr ever will. Add that to the fact that nylander is an pure playmaker and it wouldn't surprise me to see AO win the art ross and rocket richard this year. you know what i find sad? one of the most successful teams in pro sports (sucking in the regular season is new to them) is having to beg fans to come watch. Granted they havn't sniffed a stanley cup birth since the 70s but they made the playoffs for 20 years.

Defense. While pavel's Defensive game has improved significantly from last season Z is still one of the most underrated two way forwards in the NHL. Had he not been injured he'd have certainly garnered a selke nomination.

my personal favorite is one i can't really remember who the player was, but he was the maple leafs goalie (belfore or cujo) and a player scores by running through the goalie no call is made, so the goalie goes nuts and tackles him.

great carolina plays Detroit in Detroit,...like anyone in michigan wants to see that matchup,...Now if it was the other way around like it was two years ago it'd be a sell out. So my poor carolina butt can't see the wings for the second straight year,....#$%% you bettman.

I disagree, and i think every wings fan over the age of 24 would easily look you in the eye and say "no bowman, no cup". Mediocre coaches are a dime a dozen and i am no way implying that babs is one,..that's yet to be determined. But to say that a hall of fame coach can't put a team over the top,...when a few like bowman have coached several different championship squads is a little off.

know what i picked up on this article? Feds isn't stupid and doesn't play typical NHL PC bull crap. "i'd be honored to play for such and such team,.etc. etc." Could he have more grace? Absoutlty,....but i can count to a 100 of other athletes (the over whelming majority of them non hockey, who have this kind of "i'm in it for the money" attitutde and it's perfectly acceptable. In fact it's what makes them the ESPN goldenboys that they are.

biased i believe, but i don't think it's the same biased that other sports have. I.e. Not for profit from gambling or the like. I think there's a tremendous biased towards Canadians teams that most people scoff at but, i for one seem to see every game i watch when a Canadian team is in town. I also believe that there's an understandable in some cases but in others not, baised against certain players. Some of this biased is totally appropriate; i.e. the diving calls sean avery and paul karyia get. Some are not,..like how certain europeans get whacked, attacked, and generally cheated at whenever they have the puck and it's never called (Datsyuk is a good example, but Z gets it alot more)

nope, has not. In fact there are a number of guys like him who've had decent careers that no one's really heard a peep out of. Mike Johnson, Alyn McCauly, and Jason Allison havn't had a single rumor that i've seen attached to them getting signed.

point is in most people's mind (and i'm not GM) given vrbata's career year last season they could have gotten a better player. Adams had great linemates in carolina when he really established himself as a great roleplayer, But he had a terrible season playing on the Canes third line and didn't do much better on one of the worst teams in the league in PHX.

I noticed a few days ago that his Contract was bought out and i was like,..well surly someone will give him a look, he's fairly young and has been nominated for a selke in his career. I know he's had some injury problems but surly it can't be bad enough to force him to Retire or anything.
