Best offensive defensemen are Gonchar and Niedermeyer, quite easily. Best of this era is Leetch. Best ever.. Well, you know who. best of this era is paul coffey as he has more than enough stats to warrent it. Paul Coffey isn't THIS era. This era is late 90's/00's.. Well that's the era I was referring to. starting with the 98 season i've heard gonchar and leetch as the best of the OD-men gonchar 1997-1998 Capitals 72 5 16 21 2 66 2 0 0 0 134 3.7 1998-1999 Capitals 53 21 10 31 1 57 13 1 3 0 180 11.7 1999-2000 Capitals 73 18 36 54 26 52 5 0 3 0 181 9.9 2000-2001 Capitals 76 19 38 57 12 70 8 0 2 0 241 7.9 2001-2002 Capitals 76 26 33 59 -1 58 7 0 2 0 216 12 2002-2003 Capitals 82 18 49 67 13 52 7 0 2 1 224 8 2003-2004 Capitals 56 7 42 49 -20 44 4 0 0 1 127 5.5 2003-2004 Bruins 15 4 5 9 6 12 2 0 0 0 34 11.8 leetch 1997-1998 Rangers 76 17 33 50 -36 32 11 0 2 2 230 7.4 1998-1999 Rangers 82 13 42 55 -7 42 4 0 1 0 184 7.1 1999-2000 Rangers 50 7 19 26 -16 20 3 0 2 1 124 5.6 2000-2001 Rangers 82 21 58 79 -18 34 10 1 3 1 241 8.7 2001-2002 Rangers 82 10 45 55 14 28 1 0 3 0 202 5 2002-2003 Rangers 51 12 18 30 -3 20 5 0 2 1 150 8 2003-2004 Rangers 57 13 23 36 -5 24 4 1 1 0 165 7.9 2003-2004 Maple Leafs 15 2 13 15 11 10 1 0 1 0 41 4.9 now lets compare those two to our very own nick lidstrom lids 1997-1998 Red Wings 80 17 42 59 22 18 7 1 1 1 205 8.3 1998-1999 Red Wings 81 14 43 57 14 14 6 2 3 0 205 6.8 1999-2000 Red Wings 81 20 53 73 19 18 9 4 3 0 218 9.2 2000-2001 Red Wings 82 15 56 71 9 18 8 0 0 0 272 5.5 2001-2002 Red Wings 78 9 50 59 13 20 6 0 0 0 215 4.2 2002-2003 Red Wings 82 18 44 62 40 38 8 1 4 0 175 10.3 2003-2004 Red Wings 81 10 28 38 19 18 3 1 3 1 194 5.2 as you can see in the late 90s-20 lids has out preformed both of these guys in almost every catagory.

they picked a rookie, now lets follow there example and do the same.

I'd crap my pants if we got Hutchinson. I've watched him play in carolina for a while during the preseason. I'm no scout but i think that kid is going to be an offensive star. We dont' need that half as much as a big strong checker but it'd put points on the board.
-
thanks man! found one for 70 bucks.

Which store was that?! I don't live in Detroit, so I need to call these guys ASAP! Yeah, I'd like to know where the store is, too. It was the PIAS in Ann Arbor, it was a sidewalk sale type thing and was for the weekend only........Sorry. Actually if you check around Sporting Goods buy/sell stores you can find some good deals on jersey's. i don't care if it was,....i'd give a lot to get a paul coffey jersey,.........

feds equals=solid defence, awesome scoring ability, and clutch playoff goals (see 97,98,02 playoffs for ex) Dats equals=Great moves, good scoring ability, no defence at all, a ghost in the playoffs. Plus, please believe he's gone in two years.
-
feds, without a doubt. Could you imagine the kinda foward d we'd have with him back on our team? Draper on one line, fed on the next,....gives me goosebumps.
-
kids got alot of potential too. Maybe moving him to a team with alot of veteran leadership would open this kids game wide open.

Anyone read the holland interview. he says don't expect a marque player, where not going to get a top six player. Does that scare anyone else? Isn't frizen a marque player (i mean he's not great but he's gotta be worth something) Bondra is a name, even though he's old. Seems to me holland is looking to sign people to just fill jerseys. Not good.
-
we better get this guy for no more than 500,000 he's like 42 for bobs sake.
-
for the love of bob! how old is he 42?
-
sounds like the second comming of bob probert,.........do i dare?
-
he came pretty close to that norris last go around. I say if he wins it he will be more than worth it.
-
how far off is this big snake guy? I know he's just a prospect but he didn't hesitate to drop the gloves pretty freaking quick against a much bigger opponent in camp. Maybe we could call him up when we needed too?
-
agreed eva, osgood has two cups under his belt. One of which he won as the starter. Plus he's extremly well know to the team and the wings front office. I doubt highly they would go out and get him, and him sign for a song, only to play back up. It's osgoods job to lose.
-
probably right, my nerves are fried after reading the updated dats situation. He might actually sign with us,......it's just to much for me to handle,..jezzzz make up your mind.

http://hockeyrumors.blogspot.com/ scroll down a little and you'll see what ekland says are the various teams looking at luango. I think it's pure speculation but i wouldn't come out of my room for a week if colorado signed a big name goalie to frustrate us all season.
-
i dunno about that one. hockeytraderumors.com hasn't really struck me as anything but a place for wild rumors. will see though.
-
are you kidding me? a great player of equal (or maybe a little lesser skill) plus a gritty young prospect,... for the love of steve, do it holland!
-
do the leafs have the oldest team in the league now?
-
this sounds like some leafs fan started this one after a wet dream he had about them finally winning the cup.
-
if this guy can play he's going to be a huge star in detroit. We love fighters and how could not love a guy playing on your team called big snake.
-
business is a cycle, edmonton has been rather ordinary for along time. I guess the cba does exactly what it's supposed to. Besides a canadian team has to win the stanley cup this decade. It's like an unwritten rule of hockey. To be honest if the wings can't win it, Edmonton is my second pick.

congradulations you spell better than i do,...here's a cookie now go away.
