    Hate

Alot of Hawks fans over there on their board are d-bags and have completely irrational hate for the Wings. I agree with the previous poster that generalizing all Hawks fans like that is wrong because there are intelligent posters over there who may say that they don't like the Wings but at least respect them as a team and have better things to say than "Detoilet sucks and so do their fans." There was a story on one of these boards of how there was a Red Wings fan carrying his infant son at the United Center and he nearly got shoved to the ground with his baby son because he was wearing a Red Wings jersey - nobody confirmed that story, but it's stuff like that that really make my blood boil. It's good that hockey is becoming popular in Chicago again, but some of their fans really don't do themselves any favors by the things they do, like doing nothing at Red Wings games other than chant "Detroit Sucks!" and stuff like that.

    FSN +

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Pistons fan. But I seriously don't see how their games take priority over the Stanley Cup Champion Red Wings. And same for if the Pistons had won the title last year and the Red Wings didn't. Anyone else see where I'm coming from?

12/26 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Predators 3

Per MLive - Update from Friday's practice in Nashville: The Red Wings will use the same lineup they've had the last few games, as Chris Chelios and Derek Meech are healthy scratches. Coach Mike Babcock said he hadn't decided if Chris Osgood will start in goal Saturday in Colorado or whether Ty Conklin would start on consecutive nights. Osgood, after a two-day break, practiced for the second time, his fourth time on the ice after straining his groin on Dec. 15. He said he would be ready to play Saturday if called upon. "I feel pretty good,'' Osgood said. "The rest did me good, I feel sharp out there. Every little nick I had before is gone.''

"Kill the Wings. Beat them into the ice. Slash them. Cross-check them. High-stick them. Punch them. Maim them." "I honestly don't care about the score at all, I just want to inflict as much damage to them as possible. I want atleast 10 of our players to be kicked out and/or suspended. I want atleast 5 fights in the first period. I want multiple instigators against us. I want fights between us and the Red Wings fans. I want blood spurting from the noses and ears of the Red Wings. I want the game to have to be called off called off early because of the mayhem." "If someone wearing red doesn't have to be helped off of the ice, fire Murray." Must make them at Letsgoblues feel all special inside to say that

Bettman: Oilers need a new arena

Call me crazy, but I have a soft spot for the Joe. Upgrade the bathrooms, but thats all. As someone said, the Joe shouldn't have to cater to the people who go to be entertained by everything but the game. And who gives a flip about what kind of food there is? You're there to watch a hockey game. If you go to enjoy a meal, then go to Olive Garden. Hot dogs, brats, pizza, nachos, popcorn, Cheli's chili, a few places that have turkey sandwiches and whatnot, and ice cream - Wow, what a s***ty selection. There isn't a single obstructed view seat in the arena. Not too many other places can say that. When you sit there, you get to think that this is where Steve Yzerman, Brendan Shanahan, Bob Probert, Brett Hull, Dominik Hasek, Vladdy Konstantinov, Sergei Fedorov, Luc Robitaille, Nick Lidstrom and several other hockey legends played. Also where the Cup was skated twice. Look at all the banners, and "Hockeytown" etched at center ice. What a horrible place to be. And the name? Joe Louis Arena. Saying "Let's go down to the Joe" sounds a helluva lot better then "Let's go down to Jobing.com Arena" or "Pepsi Center". One of the only remaning NHL arenas that doesn't have a corperate name on it. Keep the Joe.

    Any News on Zetterberg?

From MLive - Progress in Zetterberg talks "The Red Wings have made progress in their efforts to re-sign center Henrik Zetterberg, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. General manager Ken Holland recently met with Zetterberg's agent, Marc Levine, and the sides closed the gap. It will be a long-term deal for seven years or more and likely will be front-loaded so Zetterberg earns more money the first few seasons and less toward the end, keeping the salary-cap number manageable for the club. It remains to be seen whether it will average slightly less or more than Lidstrom's $7.45 million salary."

Refs/Toronto video room blow another game

Watched it several times, and it's too inconclusive. With that, they called it a goal as they would have done with anyone.

That sucks for him, hopefully he's not out too long. Teemu's one of the the only players that has an ounce of class on the Ducks.
