Get well soon Ozzie. Come back stronger.

Not gonna lie, I'd love to have Pronger on the Wings, minus the goonery.

Bettman said Avery's remark offended him as a parent.

My thoughts exactly. Kinda similar to the Pickney High School situation here in Metro D. (For those who don't know, a 14 y.o. student took explicet pictures and sent them to two other students, and then they got sent to over 100 other students.) Parents act so shocked when stuff like that happens, but they're the ones who assume that risk when they provide their kids with picture phones and whatnot. I'm with you on this one. I've noticed that they even advertise Viagra on the boards in some NHL arenas. I was listening to the 97.1 FM broadcast of a Wings game a few weeks back, and one of the commercials was for a similar product with the tagline, "Guys, if you want to be thicker and wider...." I wanna throw an axe at the tv everytime one of those commercials comes on. -
I would say Sundin's situation is different than Forsberg's. Forsberg is an elite player when he's healthy, but is far too injury prone which is why he isn't playing right now. Sundin on the other hand, despite starting to get up there in age, is (as far as I know) perfectly healthy and is just twiddling his thumbs in Sweden deciding if he wants to play or not. What Sundin is doing could be considered insulting to such players such as Forsberg who WANT to play and still could perform at a high level, but can't due to injuries. Whereas Sundin, who can still play at a high level (put up nearly 80 pts last season on one of the worst NHL teams) and doesn't have a lingering injury that hinders him, can't make up his mind on who to play for. As Stevie Yzerman said, you should play until your body absolutely can't do it anymore. If your body still allows you to play, then do it.

Seconded. Downey's a beast who would gladly take on a guy of Chara's size.

Bahahaha at Pavs picture; thanks for posting!

Nah, I say just throw some Ozzie jersies on the ice ala Hasek in 2002; after that his game turned around pretty quickly, why not try it again?
-
If there was a candidate for this years "Drake", it would have to be Hossa. The guy turned down nearly $90 million to come here to try to win the Cup, and lately he's been playing like one of the only guys on the team that gives a damn. If there ever was incentive for the Wings to repeat, it would be to get Hossa his first ring and hopefully have him stick around.
-
He really seemed like the kind of guy that could hack into the Red Wings computer system and sell their secrets to the rest of the league.

My thoughts exactly. Forsberg is NOT coming to Detroit; we already went through it last season when several people here were hopeful for him and he shot down the idea because it would feel wrong to play for the team that was his rival for so long. Wanna bet how long it'll be before Tampa offers him a deal?

If Hank signs right after Jan 1, LGW very well may explode due to the number of posts

I'm pretty sure it's 3 out of 4; Anaheim and Vancouver scored on their first shots, then Conks had the next 3 starts. Phoenix didn't score until late in the 1st, and then Colorado last night on their first shot.

Exactly. Using excuses like "Well if we got the calls it would be different" is plain stupid.

Food for thought: Interesting Statistics that speak volumes

I might have to disagree when you say that Carcillo is able to put up points; he did pot 13 goals last season but is on pace for only 10 points this season. No disagreement however when you say that Carcillo is the man; I think I'd give my left arm to have a guy that brings his toughness and intensity onto the ice for the Wings. -
Hahahaha that was fun! Now guys...guys? Guys? Don't make me kill you Babs!

Horray, Keith Jones says the Wings still have the best D
