St Louis reaction to Palin dropping puck this Friday
Hockeytown0001 replied to redhot's topic in General
What I meant was that she wasn't following dropping the puck with a speech on why to vote McCain, or having a rally for supporters outside the arena, ect. Had that been the case, I'd be the first to speak out against it. -

Oh, look at my big words. Spell it correctly next time. And because this thread is in the hockey section rather than in political where it beongs, I'll say it here. Read the comment again. Regardless of political opinion. And if you were to go back and read the thread about the Flyers game, you'd see I said the same about any candidate. Gov. Palin wasn't there as a politician, she was there as a hockey fan/mom dropping the puck. Had Obama or Biden appeared in a non-political function as a sporting event, it would be a great way for that sport to showcase itself and a reminder that politicians are people who like sports like we all do, too. If you have a problem with a candidate, don't show it at a sporting event where they participate in pre-game cerimonies; do it outside the site of their next speech or convention. -
Meh, 3 for 6. Damn you Florida for winning!

Its comments like those that really make people, regardless of political opinion, look both childish and foolish. -
Just got back from work, heard the whole game. Sounded close at the end, but good to hear Hossa and Hank with the pair each and Ozzie with the win.
-
Can't respect a guy after that acting job and the 2 handed slash to Ozzie's chest last year.

Nice GDT. As usual, no Game Day prediction, but Let's Go Red Wings!!!!

I say it's fine. As the poster above said, its an opportunity for the NHL to showcase itself. Yes I'm voting for McCain/Palin, but it would be right for her to not give a speech out there. Same with Obama. Wouldn't the libs be screaming if Palin bought air time and was going to give a speech? As long as there's no political speeches, IMO it's fine what they're doing. -

Anyone remember these? "Learn how to drive!" "Learn how to make a kick save!"

Feds did for the longest time but stopped after the 1998-1999 season. Malts still currently wears NikeBauer gloves, skates, helmet, ect; so do Franzen, Kronwall and Lilja.

He kept the Wings in the game with several key saves, 2 of the goals he had no chance on. Less than 350 posts to end the game? Slow night eh guys?

And I'm not sure it would again. I lived in Kansas City for 9 years before coming back to MI...hockey was very unkown there. The only pro teams that people seemed to know about were the Red Wings, Blues, Stars, and Avs. The Kansas City Blades folded due to poor attendance. So I doubt a pro franchise would survive.

Lilly and Jack Bauer would make one kick-ass duo
