The Official 2008 Detroit Lions Thread

3:40 to go in the 2nd quarter, and Green Bay's up 21-0. Let's see that "Believe in Now" commercial again. -
I think it would be fair to see whether or not Franzen continues his scoring streak, or if it was just a one time thing. If he's somehow able to continue his scoring from last season, it makes the decision harder.

Staal definately is going to be worth this money; only problem is that this huge contract might get to his head because it was signed far too early. Who would have thought 20 years ago that teams would be paying 4th year players $8 million per year deals?
-
This year is Montreal's 100th season....Bobbert's presence now ensures another 100 years.
-
Wow, what an experience that must've been! Please upload pics soon!
-
Never. At least based on the travel alone.
-
Ahh, Robert. They hardly knew ye.
-
bahahahahaha. I'd love for the Preds to say, "Screw you, you didn't want us and now we don't want you."

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=249142&...os=topStory_nhl I always thought he never really wanted to leave Montreal the way he did, after all he won the Cup twice while a Hab and had he stayed there, would be their next Ken Dryden. Wonder what the Dives fans think.

Kind of off topic, but during this offseason I've been watching hockey games from this past season on www.hockeywebcasts.com, using Joost video player, which all of a sudden won't play the games. Would anyone know about this?
-
Too much, too early. You gotta think that this will figure into Hank's negotiations.
-
I second!
-
The last one - "Remember that team we used to play for?" "Who cares, we're Red Wings now."
-
Work at 3 instead of 1 today. Ahhh, sleeping in. (even later)
-
Can't wait to see him behind the bench. His experience with Hossa and Lids is a plus.
-
Could this be his last season? Turn him into an assistant coach.
-
Best? Perhaps. But most important? Definately.
-
Gotta go with Hank on this one, with Hoss and Pavs rght behind.
-
Ho-hum. Offseason.

Quincey agrees to two-year deal 500k per season

Here's a good question - If both Sammy and Lilja leave, then who is LGW's new whipping boy????? -
1. Alex Ovechkin, Jarome Iginla, Heatley 2. Alex Oveckkin, Sid the Kid, Joe Thornton, Hank 3. Steven Stamkos 4. No Answer 5. Never. 6. Zdeno Chara, possibly Dion Phaneauf 7. I'll say Crosby, only because Ovechkin will have less assists than goals. Ovechkin - 66g, 48a = 114 pts Crosby = 39g, 77a = 116 pts 8. Hank 9. Hank 10. No, they're the Blue Jackets.

I voted maybe...there's really no way to truely see whether or not Lilja'a stick would have stopped Gonchar's shot eventually redirected by Hossa. One of those things that will remain a wonderous mystery. But as someone said above, this reminds me of just how blatantly horrible the officiating was throughout the series, beginning with Lid's goal in Game 1 being called back. And the Penguins were the ones crying about "the Wings get away with everything."

If Drapes isn't at least in the top 10 on that list, it's not even worth reading.

The same kind of guy's name as your newest Red Wing, Marian. Anyone else remember Stacy Roust? -
