Satan will ice skate in hell before I ever like or root for Columbus

Who else likes being fired? not me....

Good deal for Cammalleri, he'll definately work out better in Calgary. While Los Angeles loses another good player off their roster. If ever there was a laughingstock of a franchise....
-
I think you mean 1997 AND 2002. Both times, Colorado was the defending Stanley Cup Champs. How could we be so forgetfull VM1138?
-
Wow, did not see this one coming. This has to mean that Nashville is keeping Ellis. And what does this mean for the Blues? Mason is a capable starting goaltender, which they already have in Manny. I guess there'll be a fight for the number 1 job come training camp.

Not too bad of a move for TO imo. Wilson's gonna need all the help he can get. Honta yo!!

1. Ovechkin 2. Crosby 3. Lecavalier 4. Thornton 5. Iginla 6. Heatly 7. Kovalchuk 8. Zetterberg 9. Alfredsson 10. Datsyuk

What a steal for the Kings. I'm still having a hard time believing that this is legit. If it is, would this move alone be enough to make the Kings somewhat respectable again? Just get some goaltending along with it and you're looking at a playoff contendor.

They do exist....if they fell down in the woods they'd make a sound

Nothing too major, but I like them. Was there anything about immediately blowing the play dead once the puck hits the mesh which would wipe out a goal scored seconds later?
-
I thought Jesus for sure would play goal? Maybe the parable of the prodigle (sp) son was in reference to when once someone leaves the Red Wings, it ain't so easy out there.
-
Definately happy to play in Columbus? Maybe all those shots to the nose somehow had an affect on his mental capacity...

Any thoughts on who will be the next assistant coach?

Perhaps we could entice Wayne out of the desert? -
I thought I read somewhere that Tampa's Parade only drew about 20,000. But hey, if it was 100,000, that's not too bad. I've noticed that Tampa actually has some decent fans, and that the St. Pete Times Forum always seemes to be filled no matter how badly the Lightning are playing. But hey - compare the parking lot "rallies" with basically a sold out arena crowd (no more than 25,000) to a parade downtown with reportedly over 1 million. Not Hockeytown? I laugh at you

I guess it wasn't much of a suprise considering the laps around the ice waving to the fans he took, along with shaking all of the Flame's players hands.

From Maple Leafs.com - "Goalie Vesa Toskala, who Wilson had last year in San Jose, is a keeper. With the prospect of jail no longer looming, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Mark Bell come back and score 20 goals, that is if Fletcher can see past his injury-filled four-goal, 35 game season." Did I miss something?

Maybe they broke it like the Memorial Cup!

I'm sure he's referring to celebrities of today who seemingly manage to escape punishment that other "normal" people would get.

Red Wings and Babcock agree to three year contract

Very good news. -
Lidstrom and Osgood, do they get their numbers retired?
Hockeytown0001 replied to SFwingsfan's topic in General
Ok, here are my cases. Lids - Absolutely. The NHL might as well rename the Norris Trophy the Lidstrom Trophy. It'll be a while before we see another defenseman in the National Hockey League who is as consistantly good as Nick Lidstrom is. It just wouldn't be right seeing another Red Wing wearing the number 5. Ozzie - This may be just homerism, but I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. As I said above, I don't see anyone else wearing the number 30, it's been Ozzies since 1993. No goalie wore it while he was gone. And if he's able to break Terry Sawchuk's records and make the HOF, why not? -
Beat me to it. Congratulations to Trevor Linden on a great career, he was always a top competitor and involved in so many things in the community. He'll be missed from the Canucks.

Question: Will the Wings sign a big name free agent?
Hockeytown0001 replied to hckypete96's topic in General
On a side note, is it possible to sign players to extensions before their contract expires? If so, does Kenny plan on doing that with Hank and Mule? -
About time. Crawford seems to be on the downside of his coaching career. But I gotta say, I don't think I'd be suprised to see Atlanta or even Ottawa take a chance on him. Maybe San Jose? Probably not, considering he wasn't good enough to coach their downstate rivals.
