What a steal for the Kings. I'm still having a hard time believing that this is legit. If it is, would this move alone be enough to make the Kings somewhat respectable again? Just get some goaltending along with it and you're looking at a playoff contendor.

I thought I read somewhere that Tampa's Parade only drew about 20,000. But hey, if it was 100,000, that's not too bad. I've noticed that Tampa actually has some decent fans, and that the St. Pete Times Forum always seemes to be filled no matter how badly the Lightning are playing. But hey - compare the parking lot "rallies" with basically a sold out arena crowd (no more than 25,000) to a parade downtown with reportedly over 1 million. Not Hockeytown? I laugh at you

Ok, here are my cases. Lids - Absolutely. The NHL might as well rename the Norris Trophy the Lidstrom Trophy. It'll be a while before we see another defenseman in the National Hockey League who is as consistantly good as Nick Lidstrom is. It just wouldn't be right seeing another Red Wing wearing the number 5. Ozzie - This may be just homerism, but I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. As I said above, I don't see anyone else wearing the number 30, it's been Ozzies since 1993. No goalie wore it while he was gone. And if he's able to break Terry Sawchuk's records and make the HOF, why not?
