I see where you're coming from, and I don't think there would be much difference between the two. Niemi didn't play a full season for Chicago, so there's no telling how he'd handle being the full fledged number one goalie. On the other hand, Turco has nice veteran experience, but has questionable form hidden by his puck handling skills and is getting up there in age. It's a toss up, IMO.

I've heard good things about that one. Sam Adams makes a pretty good Black Lager. (I'm extremely biased towards them if you can't already tell, lol)

Tampa had Lecavalier, St. Louis, Richards, and Boyle. Another good core? Getzlaf, Perry, Pronger, Selanne, and Giguere. Just because some teams have good cores doesn't mean it will translate into success. Especially in terms of playoff production the last two seasons.
