I don't have too many issues with Grapes. However, I remember an instance where I took immediate offense to a statement ofhis on one occasion when he diverted from hockey talk on Coach's Corner last season and made an asinine statement of how much better Canadian soldiers were over American soldiers during World War ll, something that never should have been said amongst other reasons that I won't go into that could derail the thread. Canada produces (the most?) and some of the best hockey players the league has ever known. Let's not forget that Red Wing greats like Howe, Lindsey, Yzerman, ect are all Canadians by birth.

Maybe this has happened before. Maybe a fan blinded an official with a laser as a goal was being scored at the same time a penalty was occuring, leading to the whole "intent to blow" fiasco.

He had some great performances in the last part of his career, namely stepping in for Kipper in Game 3 against San Jose and for Gerber agains Washington, and stoning Ovie repeatedly in overtime and the shootout. He got hosed here in Detroit because of the Hasek situation, really a shame that things didn't work out better for him. Best of luck to him.

Agreed. Last year's was horrible. I love the disclaimer on this year's commercial: "If this year's song sucks, it's because you didn't enter." EDIT: Also...correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember seeing one Red Wings jersey in last year's commercial. They were all wearing Pistons shirt and one guitarist had a white t shirt with "Detroit" on it. Lame.

Grapes should give the US team their proper due for victory. Yes, the outcome probably would have been different if Canada had different players playing. Everyone with hockey sense knows that hockey is Canada's game, much like baseball is America's game.
