Sigh.

Filppula = 2nd line Center Draper = 4th line Center Lebda = 4th defenseman (plays like it) May = enforcer Not having Barker is comparable to Detroit not having Kronwall, which they've had to do for long stretches in seasons past, yet they were fine without him because they were relatively healthy. Bolland and Filppula are good for about 40 to 50 points a year, so they're about even. Real enough for you?
-
My mistake. FSN's caption at the bottom of the screen at the end of the game said that Huet now leads the league with 6 shutouts.
-
That's like saying Detroit was missing Filppula, Draper, Lebda, and May. As opposed to Zetterberg, Franzen, Kronwall, and Cleary.
-
I believe friggin' Huet now has 6 shutouts on the year.
-
Game turned out pretty much like it should have. Wings really had no chance to win this game with half their team made up of AHL'ers playing against a talented, full Chicago lineup. Better luck next game.
-
Remember that game years ago when Detroit was trailing Chicago 2 to 0 with 30 seconds left in the game and ended up winning 3.2 in overtime? That was great.

At least level someone, Stuart.

About time for a good save.

Would have been a nice goal by MIller

Wow, Ozzie. You need to have that.

I want to cringe seeing Lebda with Datsyuk.

Ozzie pulling a Hasek....

Seemed to be a good end to the period, it looked like Keith's shot was deflected.

I sure as hell can't afford that. Neither can any of the people who can't afford to go to games at the Joe. People that live in NHL cities that are better off economically than Detroit can.
-
Cut the picture in half and it makes sense.
-
Nah, more money being brought into the NHL = Bettman thinking fans love hockey so much that a franchise would thrive in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
-
Mickey is one of the only colour commentators I've heard that gets angry when his team gets a powerplay as a result of a crap call from an official.

Either you live in a cave and aren't aware of Detroit's economic troubles, or you're the ignorant type who makes fun of it like other Chicago and hockey "fans" do. The Red Wings sold out every game from 1996 to 2007, when the economy really started to go south. People simply cannot afford to go to games. Secondly, congratulations. You've discovered that every sports franchise has its fair share of moronic fans, even the Red Wings. It just so happens that we don't shout "(insert team name) SUCKS!!!!" during games, start fights with opposing fans as I've witnessed at the UC, and intentionally shove Red Wings fans holding their infant child (yes, you read right.) Comparing Chicago fans to Nashville fans is offensive? Should we not be offended when posters on your board seriously hope for Red Wings players to be taken off the ice on stretchers and carried away in ambulances? As I said before, the vast majority of Chicago fans are new to hockey and don't know a penalty when they see one, such as the majority of Chicago fans who were calling for Kronwall's expulsion from the NHL after his Havlat hit. (Don't you notice that 99.9 percent of posters on this board acknowledge that Ohulund's similar hit on Zetterberg was perfectly clean and that the only anger was the result of the hit, not how it happened? Guess not.) The reasons Chicago fans chant Detroit sucks during games is out of irrational hatred and pure jealousy. I've watched Chicago home games where their "fans" chant Detroit sucks when they don't play Detroit for another month. Not only unoriginal, but just plain stupid. EDIT: Also on the attendance subject....wonder why the Red Wings manage 99 percent of the time to sell out opposing arenas that otherwise would not have been sold out. Chicago doesn't do that.
