Price played tonight vs Washington, so here's hoping that I got it right with the starting netminders. You remember the last time what happened when you said it was Toskala, not Monster starting for the Leafs 2 weeks ago -

Don't get me wrong, Z was fantastic again tonight but Leino fumbled just about every pass he had and turned it over every time he had the puck. And other than playing physical, Bert wasn't anything special out there either. -

I just got back from the game, extremely disappointing to have that many chances and to not put it away. I can't believe Helm blew two separate breakaways, other than that he looked great out there as did Zetterberg. Ville Leino made me want to throw up my popcorn, he was awful. When Dats didn't bury that powerplay chance early in the 1st, I had an uneasy feeling the Wings would be in for a rough night Also, thats the 3rd time the Red Wings have lost a game where I put the wrong opposing starting netminder for the opposition in the GDT. Time to fix that. Anyone happen to know if Price or Halak will be in net tomorrow? -

Anyone have the stream for tonight? -
I've had run ins with drunk fans at the Joe, thankfully nothing came of it. It was the home opener against Chicago where my dad and I both had standing room tickets next to a rowdy drunk-off-his-ass guy who was constantly blocking the view. My dad politely asked him to move out of the way because he couldn't see, the guy responded with an attitude. I stepped in, and he basically was like "Oh my god guys, I'm being an *******. Let me buy you both a beer!" (Don't mean to brag, but I am pretty well built ) The good thing was, he was sincere, and we spent the rest of the game talking hockey. Turned out he was from Los Angeles and he and his wife attend Kings games all the time and make it to Detroit every year for the home opener, turned out to be a pretty cool guy. Too bad these douches from Duckland weren't like that.

Not to mention his constant drama with Anna grew tired very quickly

And yet there's nothing wrong with admitting that they made a mistake at times. As others have said, it would happen if any one of us screwed up in our jobs - why should NHL referees be any different?
-
From what, other boards?

*Fedorov Gah, it's been so long since I've even said his name I completely forgot how to spell it, didn't even bother to double check the article for the spelling

I wonder how proud Bettman is about his fighting to the death to keep hockey in Phoenix only to see them average what, 8,000 fans per game?
-
Just to name a few. Bert had a goal against Edmonton waived off this year due to "intent to blow" bulls*** again, and also we all still can't figure out how 4 on ice officials don't notice a team having an extra player on the ice for 26 seconds during a Stanley Cup Finals game.
-
Except, it doesn't. No team in the last 4 years have had as many goals called back as the Red Wings have.
-
What a stupid quote from Auld. The amount of cameras inside the arena prove that the referee had intent to blow the whistle? Hey schmuck - every camera that captured the play PROVE that the puck was in the net for a good two seconds before the whistle blew. There was no way in hell that the referee was going to blow the whistle during a clean shot on goal. Now, if the referee had been standing somewhere in front of the net and didn't see the puck enter, the whistle can be blown after it appeared that Auld covered the puck, because thats what it looked like from the front. But doesn't it tell you something WHEN HE PULLS THE PUCK OUT OF THE NET WITH HIS OWN STICK? I've lost complete faith in the NHL. I'm also not going to say that Bettman has instructed officials to make it more difficult for the Red Wings to win - but that sure as hell doesn't mean he isn't glad when they do.

Had this crap rule been applied in 2002, Yzerman's goal in Game 5 against the Avs wouldn't have counted, when he snuck it past Patrick's pad and he cleverly tried to hide it in the net. Replays clearly showed the puck went in, and it counted. Tonight was almost a carbon copy of that play, but it didn't count.
