Still bitter over last night, huh?
-
Keeping Ozzie in would be giving this game to the Jackets. He can hardly move out there. It looks like his groin to me. I'd take my chances on Conklin to close this one out, whether we have to go back to Detroit or not, and let Ozzie start round 2.
-
How many different bulls*** excuses can you give for moving the faceoff out of the Flames' zone? I don't typically like to blame the reffing, but tonight was absolutely brutal.
-
Agreed. Much like Dom last year, Osgood will almost certainly be starting in the post-season unless he absolutely collapses (keep in mind his record is actually pretty good), so I'd rather we give him the means to get his game back on track rather than just benching him. Granted tonight was a big statement game for Ozzie following yet another shutout for Conklin, and he really didn't perform. I didn't think any of the goals were awful, but six is a few too many to give up.
-
I know they were great shots, but Ozzie didn't make any attempt to come out and challenge. He just looks shaky back there.
-
I was actually pretty stoked for the chance to take first place tonight, even if San Jose had a game at hand. I've always thought the second seed was cursed. And mess with our dynamite fourth line? I don't think so.
-
Yeah, allowing both those breakaways was pretty inexcusable, but Ozzie looked really tentative in net tonight. Those were some great shots, but both those goals in the third were in the net before he even reacted.
-
I agree that the back-to-back against the Blackhawks was a big test for the Wings that we responded well to. But I think it's pretty clear the only team that can roll with Detroit in the Western Conference is San Jose, every other team in the conference is ten points back from us, so it's tough to see us collapse in a game we had a couple leads in. And you can really only blame so much on fatigue, I know it was three games in four nights, but the Wings did have a day off.
-
That's right, because a win in that 6-0 game would've put us ahead of the Sharks for the first time this season. Oh wait... I didn't forget our shutout of the Sharks a month or so ago, I just think it's pretty clear this was the biggest game of the season and we fell apart in the third. Not that the game wasn't extremely entertaining, but the performance of our defence and goaltending was less than impressive.
-
This game was clearly more important.
-
Biggest game of the season so far and we f***ed it up.
-
Late whistle.
-
And we don't have a timeout.
-
And the colour guy is bitching.
-
Ugh. You're allowed to move Ozzie.
