I wound not care that much other than the fact that I'm not a huge Hossa fan. I just don't think when it's all said and done that Flip is going to be a great player.I guess I see him as something of a Victor Kozlov in a way b/c when you look at his attributes he should just be a better player then he is but he's not. He has the parts for him to average out an 8 out of 10 score but somehow he scores a 6 out of 10, if that makes sense to you. it's a sum of all parts type thing I guess...idk just my opinion.

I think the Bolts will trade Brad Richards to the Wild for one of the Wilds' goalies Josh Harding or Niklas Backstrom among other players. If the Wild don't get Richards I still have a feeling that they make a splash this year, maybe Olli, or Hossa. I really think it's going to be Richards though

I know he was not a superstar or a rookie but, from what I remembered he played hard on his call up and did what we asked of him. He had a goal and an assist in his 3 games with the wings. The next year he signed with the Coyotes and started the year with them and I really thought he would do good and get ice time since the Coyotes suck then he was sent down for the rest of the year. They chose not to resign him even though he was about a point a game in the AHL, like he was for us. Now this is really what I don't get I went over to hockeyDB to see where he was playing since tsn took his profile down and he's not signed by an nhl team or an AHL team he's played for 2 teams this season. The Swiss league and the Austrian league???? Those league's are not even that good. I mean Russian, Sweaden, and even Finland I could understand but I just thought this was weird. 2007-08 Zurich Swiss-A 2007-08 Salzburg EC Aust Did he have a bad attitude or something? Looking at his profile he has moved around a lot, but that could just be a coincidence. So does anyone have an answer?
-
Wow! Thanks for the real answer, it's much appreciated. Since you seem to be very knowledgable do you know what the deal was/is with Pavel Rosa? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Rosa
-
I know in Russia the hockey deals are tax free, place to live, and a car. I don't know if he would get all that but, is it like that in other countries? I was under the impression that they did not have the money to do things like that.
-
Yes. thank you I understand that but he could still be in the AHL at the very least. If he got lucky he could be considered a call up, not playing in B level Europe hockey leagues. I think he had enough talent to play on the 'yotes last year, so I was really wondering if he's got an attitude problem.
-
and I agree a didnt have a problem with it but I'm gettin' slammed over here.

The think that really bugged me the most is that if we want to grow the game rating and revenue and so on we need minority markets blacks, latina/Hispanic, asia in general would be nice. I just read a similer artical abot this on kuklas and they said it could be 15 years before they get there insperational black hockey icon like Iginla but born in Amaerica. Even tough Emery is Canadian he can still help grow the game in the US (since I'd bet on him being traded) if he's in a large media market like L.A. He could help or it he countinues to act like this be a detriment to the game if the black hockey players look up to him they might emulate his bad attitude. He shouls be a role model whether he likes it or not.
-
So wait I'm the bad guy? But it's okay to put up Iverson when he had his attitude with the '76ers? Then laugh about how he talks.
-
Not that I defend Burt but didnt he have press conferance to publicly appologize? Did anyone else do that like he did? And a lawyer written press release does not count. You know what if thats how you want to interpert my point thats fine. I know thats not what I said or meant.
-
I chose to lump them all together because they all have the same attitude of "hey it's not my fault it's someone elses." It's called personal responsibility and none of them have it. I would like to see you prove me wrong and show me how those 3 have personal responsibility. " I thought practice was at another rink" "I did not know what was going on at my own house, even though I funded the opperation." and i guess Kwame's big head forgot where he stuck his lil head and decided to cost then city $9M, Them blame the Free Press for uncovering the text's and taking it public, instead of taking personal responsibility for his actions. Also I'm not the only one who's said that about Emery's attitude I think Don Cherry did and while I normally would not include Don Cherry's opinion on minorites (Natives in Canada, and the French) he said that while being one of Emery's bigger public supporters. While I'm still on the hip hop part of my response Kwame was dubbed the first him hop mayor so I think it's fair to say he has a hip hop attitude. While I will say the Vick comment may have been harsh but I'll stand by it. McCarty took the personal responsibility for his problems. If he did not, to answer your question I would call him white trash(drugs,no job, no money, sounded like a bad father in the freep article until recently) so no I would not classify him with the previously mentioned people, also what you chose to imply was not lost on me.
-
So freaking pathetic, just typical hip hop attitude, Emery, Vick, Kilpatrick. Blame everyone else or something else for you being a piece of s***. Oh I did not know where to practice even though everyone else on my team did. Some people just don't deserve to play in the NHL and he's one of them.
-
No. I agree with you now. I was thinking at the time I wrote my comment he had 2 years in but I forgot that he broke his collar bone against Chicago. So I would say it's possible this year but I'd lean more toward next year.
-
I'll still choose to differ with you. Babs has made him a healthy scratch this year, and he only gets about 6 - 7 1/2 min. a game. The effort you refer to, is that the ducks game? That ONE GAME that he played like he should.
-
I would bet money that Kopecky is gone at the deadline. If not this year then the next but he will be traded just like J-willy for his lack of physical play. Anyone remember how many times Babs told Williams to finish his checks, hit, go to the net. I remember hearing it in interviews, reading it in the Freep, on Mlive. Then he got traded I don't think it was a coincidence. If Kopecky continues to play the passive style he is choosing to play many nights his ass is gone.

I have not seen as many games as last year, so is it a case of Lapointe playing bad or the fact that he's not getting the ice time to play? you know that whole player and coach ice time catch-22 argument. I'd also bring up that Yzerman even said its not easy to lead from the bench (not that I'm comparing the two), when his ice time was low.
-
That may be true but you are not going to find an All-Star perfect d-man that hits like Phaneuf, plays angles like Lidstrom, and skates like Lebda. It's just not going to happen, so you get a guy who might have sub-par skating but well above average physical play. he's a stay at home d-man. It's not like he's going to be rushing up the ice and getting caught out of position. And the classic line: he's better than Lilja. I think he's only making 500,000 more or so then Lilja
-
my money is on Martin Lapointe he's the kind of forward I would like to see on the team, not necessarily him but the style of play. He is averaging about 5 1/2 min. a game...and that's just under what Downey or Matt Ellis play so i doubt he's happy about that considering he has an "A" on his chest. He is also a UFA after this year so it's not like the 'Hawks could ask for much. Also on the topic of trades with the 'Hawks, I said it before and I'll say it again I'm freakin' pissed we did not get Jim Vandermeer. He was 100% what we neded as a physical D-man.

The title kinda says it all I just want a Danny Markov jersey b/c I loved the way he played last year. I looked at Play Ball near my house and they only had Hatcher,Whitney,Cujo, And Mr. I wanna hang myself, and a few other players what were nothing special so I don't remember maybe it was Dandinault (sp?) they were only $50.00 so maybe a x-mas gift for yourself. But please help me guys I want a Markov jersey. also the black wings jersey from a few years ago, any ideas where to get one? P.S. I was extremely pissed about the flyers n' hawks trade I wanted jim vandermeer on this team for a long time go back and look at my posts..wow still pissed about that. We can get Calder from them but not jim vandermeer.

Does anyone know where I can get a Markov jersey?

Thanks for the help. I'm just shocked that it's so hard to find his jersey, I mean I know he only played one year but it's not like he was that popular. I can find Hatcher but not Markov it just seems odd. THANKS TO EVERYONE ELSE -

http://newarknj.areaconnect.com/crime/comp...troit&s2=MI Hey people take a look at the facts. This link above is a graph that show the Newark crime rate vs Detroit. The Detroit crime is higher but keep in mind population, if Newark had as many people as Detroit thier crime rate would sky rocket over ours On a side note i think you should all take a look at the PBS doc. Streetfight it is about Newark and their former mayor and how the city is a joke thats for sale http://www.pbs.org/pov/pov2005/streetfight/about.html So Newark is a s*** HOLE AND MELROSE IS RIGHT

Parting shot The Calgary Flames are in town Wednesday, but ex-Wing Darren McCarty won't be with them. He's out of the NHL, and, surprisingly, none of his former teammates in Detroit have heard from him in months. But there's a concert Saturday night at the Magic Bag in Ferndale with proceeds benefiting the McCarty Cancer Foundation. Good bands, good cause. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. *This is what I am wondering, did he fall back into his old addictions? his buy out from the wings, his divorce, hurt almost all of last year and no NHL deal this year or even a try out with a team. I don't think it's too crazy to think he might have fallen back to his old ways. SO HAS ANYONE HEARD ANYTHING?????
