Nail, meet head. All the appologists sang Kenny's praises for being patient during the off season saying that we would have our pick of girtty scoring wingers at the deadline. Now the pool of those types is shrinking and Holland has a history of overvaluing his own players. Those things do not bode well for an impact trade which this team likely needs to get out of the 1st round. If Holland pulls off such a deal or the Wings make the conference finals I will gladly come on here and say I was wrong. But right now I have serious doubts.

I'll happily come on here and say I was wrong if Holland actually picks up a girtty impact forward and/or the Wings make it passed the 2nd round of the play-offs. Will you and the other applogists do the same if those things don't happen?

The All Star game was watched by fewer people than some cable show about making cakes. What a joke. Putting the all star game on a Wednesday was just another idiotic decision by Bettman and company in a long list of bad ideas including over expansion, dumb scheduling, moving off of ESPN, etc...

Ok, glad you were only kidding, but I still think you may be overestimating the value of Willaims and Lilja. I would hope they would fetch more than just Lapointe, but in this salary cap era you have to look beyond production at things like salary and contract length. I don't know off hand, how the salaries match up in this trade scenario, but in some cases you trade away more in player talent to better your cap sitiuation.

Are YOU serious? Lilja and Williams together aren't worth ONE 1st rounder. I'm not a huge LaPointe fan but at least he gives this team something it doesn't have with toughness. All that Williams and Lilja provide are bad penalties and untimely turnovers. I would do this trade just to be rid of those two.
