or instead of eliminating the instigator rule just change it so the person who really instigates the fight gets the extra 2. like the hit on lidstrom. downey and laperrière each get 5 for fighting and laperrière gets 2 for instigating.

Tavares will be the next Daigle. You heard it here first.

i agree. and it was nice that he told them before the deadline that he had no intention of staying so the jackets could still get something for him.

i believe most of the highlights in the tournament were in championship games, bowl games or carried some other kind of significance. Kopecky's goal wasn't important.

i like this. i hope he's able to get into shape and be able to contribute in the post season. if it doesn't work out he can still retire as a Red Wing.

just found this one today

i don't think they want to replace him with anyone offensive. the last thing we need are rookie defenseman jumping into the play and not being able to get back in time. quincey got called up because he is the most defensively sound.

i think we need to relax. losing four straight games sucks, but i don't think trading flip is the answer.

The NHL wants to know why hockey is a '2nd-tier sport'
HomeNugget replied to NHLrules?'s topic in General
i can kinda see your point there. whenever i see a flag in football i know why it was thrown. when i watch hockey i usually find myself shouting "where's the call" or "that was a call?" a lot. my original point still stands though. every league's officials can have a lot of say in who wins a game. -

the officials in every league have a lot of influence on the game. i remember two or three seasons ago the lions played a game against baltimore. a baltimore player purposely bumped a ref and for the rest of the game the refs called everything they could on baltimore. there was an umpire in baseball, but i don't recall his name. if a batter ever argued a called strike the ump would tell him "i called it a strike, its still a strike and the next one's a strike too." and i don't care what anyone says, but the pistons got cheated in game 7 of the '05 finals. the pistons are the rodney dangerfield of the nba. -
why is that so much to ask? seriously though, for the money he makes and the minutes he plays, i'm fine with sammy.

he had 95 points in 105 career games over three seasons for the Caps. after that he had a pretty successful career in Germany. here are his stats: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla...?pid%5B%5D=5530

Does anyone know what happened to Chris Valentine?
HomeNugget replied to HomeNugget's topic in General
i never said anything about him returning. i'm just wondering why a player who scored 95 points in 105 games quit so he could play in germany. -
i think there's just too many people that would post something like that seriously.

since joe malone and newsy lalonde have been mentioned, i'll go ahead and throw cy denneny's name out there. his goals per game was only about .75, but thats good enough to put him in the discussion.
