i think some fans just like to believe that the wings don't get enough respect. everything clarke said was true. the wings are having a great season, but there's still gonna be three teams between us and the finals.

its great that we're playing so well, but come playoff time it doesn't matter. does anyone recall how many stanley cups we won in the '95-'96 season?

the leafs won't make the playoffs. this is the biggest game they'll play all year, and they know it. they're gonna come out flying.

i think a lot of the great forwards woulda made good defenseman. a lot of playing defense is good vision. if you can see the ice well you'll be able to put yourself in good position. because of that i think wayne, Stevie or mario could have been good defensemen.

i believe he finished second in conn smythe voting. so i guess yzerman really won the cup in spite of the rest of the team.

i don't remember him posting a .500 record or better since he's become GM.

the wings keep kids in the minors until they're ready. for some guys (hudler, kopecky) that means they stay down until they run out of options. others (datsyuk, zetterberg, franzen) make the jump immediately. and some (kronwall, filppula) only spend a season or two in grand rapids.

we aren't just putting them off for aging defenseman, we're putting them off for better defenseman. rosters spots are earned in training camp. i trust the coaching staff to ice the best possible team every season. if quincey and/or ericsson aren't on the team this year or any year its because they aren't good enough.
