found another article about this kid. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2007/11/jo...tarring_in.html a little blurb about him from red wings central: While he’s playing at Sweden’s second level, it’s the seasoning he’ll need to play in the Swedish Elite League next season. Andersson’s offensive totals and faceoff success are outstanding for his age in a tough league. and a small profile and stats from: http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=4087〈=en

Pierre Pilote is one of only 4 players to have won the Norris Trophy three consecutive years. if the wings are gonna pick up a defenseman based entirely on a name and history as opposed to how they're currently playing, then i feel Pierre Pilote is a much better option than Rob Blake. Plus he's a free agent so we won't have to give up players, picks or prospects to get him.

never considered the big lebowski a sports movie. now that i think about it i guess it could be. another on that hasn't been mentioned yet is Every Which Way but Loose. if there's a better movie about the trials and tribulations of a street fighter i haven't seen it.
-
the greatest sports movie ever made is Over the Top. nothing else comes close.

i would pass on Blake. he's only a shadow of what he used to be. so why don't we go after Pierre Pilote?

Osgood has been a starter his entire career. He came back to Detroit because he loves it here. He was promised a chance to start in '06, but got injured. Last season it was decided before the season began that he would be the back-up. He accepted that role because thats what it took to be a goalie for the Red Wings. This season he got a chance to start because Dom got hurt he has proved despite popular belief, that he still has what it takes to be a successful goalie in the NHL. He knows what it takes to win, we know he can handle the pressure, he's been very patient and he has earned the right to start. edit: spelling

i agree. the only reason Robinson is ranked higher on this list is because he played for montreal. if Trottier had the exact same numbers but played for the leafs, CBC would have him ahead of Robinson.

Anyone else think Gordie Howe is a little money hungry?
HomeNugget replied to WingNutt's topic in General
exactly. back then howe wasn't even the highest paid wing. the team f***ed him over for years. -
and then Esposito would score on the rebound

no regrets. if Fleischmann were still here he'd still be in the AHL.

wings win 7-6. patrick kane and robert lang each score three goals and have 3 assists because they realize this is what they need to do for my fantasy team to win this week.
-
he's not just a cowboy though. he's a white man. should someone be allowed to portray white people like that?
-
i think it has a lot to do with ozzie too. i've always thought that he's been great on breakaways and shootouts.
-
i've got one. what if the dallas cowboys changed their logo to a picture of yosemite sam? would all white people have a right to be angry?
-
if he can get us to one more cup and can make it to 400 i think he's worthy.
-
Lindros did try to keep going though. he got hurt 7 years ago, missed an entire season, and then came back. each season since then has been worse than the one before it. its good that he stopped now when his great seasons still outweigh his mediocre seasons.
-
i don't regret the trade. i don't know why Lang gets half the crap people on the boards give him. when he was with us he was one of our top performers in the playoffs. in hindsight i think it was still a good trade. a prospect and a pick for the league leading scorer.

it seems to be ok though, with teams like the fighting irish and the vikings. and if there was a team called the honkies i would think it was the greatest thing ever.
-
i think i said this a couple times already, but i'm going to throw it out there again. a bust doesn't average more than a point a game over a 13 year career, and when a bust retires there wouldn't be any hall of fame debate.
-
i agree 100% people need to lighten up. the name Vikings was even chosen because of all the people of Norwegian decent in minnesota. no one out here is offended by it.
-
if its wrong for one group its wrong for all... except the irish.

- If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? tough one. probably Larionov. if he and datsyuk were on the same line we'd have to many guys passing and not shooting. - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? yes. - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? i'd say so. how many other players had a hart, pearson and selke in the same season? - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? i think it was equal parts richard, howe and bobby hull. - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? Lilja. just for kicks. - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? i think he'll be in the 100-110 range if he stays healthy. - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? larionov would be the goal scorer. i remember datsyuk saying when he was younger he always felt like he should let the older guys score the goals. - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? $8 million - Rafalski or Schneider? i don't think we've had rafalski long enough for me to make a good decision. - Out of every player on the Red Wings roster, which one is likely to troll LGW from time to time? hudler. he seems the most like a child.
-
it would take Datsyuk or Zetterberg.
