i hope no one from the league office finds there way into this thread. i'm sure they're always on the look out for more meaningless awards like the messier trophy or roger crozier saving grace award. how 'bout the montreal canadiens trophy? awarded to the team who at the end of the playoffs has accumulated the most stanley cups. anaheim would have won it this year edging out the rest of the competition by one stanley cup.

i remember brett hull talking about the size of goalie pads during intermission of a game last season. he picked up a leg pad and i swear it was as wide as he was. leave the nets alone and make the goalie pads smaller.

another great race by hamilton. great job by sebastian vettel filling in for kubica. youngest driver and first teenager to earn a point at this point its probably safe to say that mclaren will run away with the constructors championship.

Nick is great, and he is definately in the top 10 best defensemen. maybe even top 5 or top 3, but i don't think he is better than bobby orr.

i don't like bettman, but putting teams in non-traditional markets is the only way to gain more fans. how many fans will the league gain if nashville moves to hamilton? ZERO. every single person that lives in hamilton is already a hockey fan. how many fans will they lose by moving out of nashville? can't say for sure. a couple thousand maybe. i don't really have much of a problem with the sun belt teams, i just think it was too many too fast. bettman worries more about putting new teams in weak markets than he does about marketing those teams.

lidstrom is not the greatest defenseman ever. that title belongs to bobby orr. this isn't a matter of opinion, this is a fact. lidstrom is still a fine captain though. shanahan was my choice, but he didn't resign.

hudler is only 2' 3" and 17 lbs and i've never seen him backdown from anyone. he doesn't drop the gloves but he doesn't let anyone push him without pushing back. hudler fears no man.

i agree. if this is how the team is gonna be treating Hudler, i'd like to see him traded to a team that will give him a chance.

i remember this thread. i didn't realize this thread was started this season. i thought it was last season. i have a poor concept of time.

i haven't seen marc staal's name yet. anyone know if he'll be up with the rangers next year? wasn't there something in his contract saying that if was down in GR for three weeks or more that he could jump back across the pond?

i think we should drop schneider and bring up kindl. i think in a season or two he'll be able to put up some comparable numbers.

after the first goal is good. you don't wanna hang onto it too long cause if the wings are losing 4-1 in the third your only options may be to toss it then and look stupid, or ride home with an octopus still wrapped around your belly.

so? do we really have to bash non-traditional hockey markets every time they try to market hockey?
