I didn't see the replay, but I doubt the ref was reluctant. If he thought it was no goal he would have signaled no goal after the puck went in.

It doesn't put an argument to rest, it starts another one. Should players be allowed to fight with helmets on? I say no. Should skilled players be fighting? I think so. Which isn't to say I think Datsyuk should throw down with Boogaard. When two stars go at it, like Iginla and Lecavalier in the finals, it gets the fans and teams more worked up than two goons swinging at each other.

Though a lot of people like to think so, how much money Zetterberg makes has nothing to do with the salary of anyone else. Zetterberg is not stupid. He knows how much he's worth on the open market.

I love Steve, but he never was, and he never will be half as important as Joe Louis was.

I thought so too. George Gaborik is good. Marian Gaborik should grow a mustache like that.

Burke miffed that he missed Linden's jersey retirement

Boo-hoo-hoo. Maybe you would have more friends if you weren't a dick. -
I had to work and missed the entire game. I couldn't believe the score when I saw it. I watched the Blackhawks embarrass the Oilers the other night and was thinking to myself that the Wings need to do that to someone this year. I never thought it would come against the Sharks.

Don't they usually play these games about a week before the season actually starts? I don't think travel will be an issue.

This is not common sense. This is stupid. Any of the goalies you named, at their best, are not any better than Ozzie was last year. I'd rather hang on to Hudler and let Ozzie pull out his slump.

Conklin to start in Dallas; Chelios to debut on Sat
HomeNugget replied to Elshupacabra's topic in General
We're playing back to back games this weekend. Ozzie will get the start on Saturday, and after that I wouldn't be surprised to see him start the next couple games. -
The correct answer is Bruins-Canadiens.

http://fr.justin.tv/nothingtv I think they're showing the game on this channel, but it's in French.
-
No idea. It wasn't asking for one earlier.

Never mind. I found a couple: http://atdhe.net/live-tv-841.html http://www.justin.tv/mckctv2

Does anyone know of a good stream for the game tonight?

I think this will really prove Burke's worth as a GM. If he succeeds in Toronto no one can say that he inherited anything.

I agree that the league shouldn't try to push Crosby down our throats, but you can't deny his ability. He probably won't put up Gretzky like numbers, but he's still only 21 and has already won an Art Ross, Hart and led his team to the Stanley Cup finals. That's pretty impressive.
-
Supposedly? Have you never seen the replay?
-
Two top five players for one top five player? No.

I know Aurie's number's aren't great, but at the time he retired he was the Red Wings franchise leader in games played and goals scored, and he was third in assists and second in points. Having your number retired isn't only about numbers though. It's about what they meant to the team and how they were viewed by the fans. At the time someone thought he was important enough to have his number retired. You shouldn't unretire a number because there's no one around who remembers how great he was or what he meant to the team. And maybe he wouldn't be forgotten if the Red Wings chose to honor him in the same way they chose to honor the other 6 players with retired numbers.
-
Delvecchio's number was retired immediately after he retired. Dale McCourt requested the number after he was drafted and Delvecchio gave his permission. I guess after McCourt left people forgot it was retired. What if a new owner comes along fifty years from now and unretires Yzerman's number because of some personal grudge? That's essentially what happened to Larry Aurie.
-
They should have got Rush.

Detroit didn't win a Stanley Cup in 1940, and Jack Adams coached every wings game from 27'-28' through 46'-47'. I agree though, it should have been retired. I believe he wore number 5 though, so it will be up in the rafters before too long.

You can compare Fedorov with Abel, Lindsay and Sawchuk, but leave Alex Delvecchio out of it. He's on the same level as Howe and Yzerman.
