I don't wear undies. Ha.

Yeah, at B&R. If I'm at Troy, it's pretty much only weekday mornings. I'm at the B&R in Farmington Hills weeknights and weekends. I think I saw you at Troy Sports Center once, maybe last year?

I heard a rumor... and granted, it was just a rumor... that Vancouver wanted to trade Cloutier, Bertuzzi, and a pick to Florida for Luongo. I can't see Bertuzzi being worth Shanahan, Osgood, and Hudler if he'd be part of a package for Luongo...

Pic in my profile, me doing what I do best Some others for your viewing horror... I'm in the middle I've cut back on the facial hair a little since this...

You mean Blackburn? Montoya was also supposed to be a senior this year... Blackburn played a good chunk of the Rangers' games when he was 18.
-
Yeah, I'd be interested... of course, depends on my work/hockey/coaching schedule, but if I can fit it in... or schedule around it... I'd be there.

I think Legace will be here, and I think he and Osgood will be platoon goalies, like Roloson and Fernandez in Minnesota.
-
I was going to say the same thing. It's working very well for Minnesota. Neither guy there is a standout, but both are solid and both are constantly pushed to be at their best if they want to play. This system doesn't allow either goalie to get too comfortable in his role.

If it starts to rub off on teammates and causes problems in the locker room, that's not a good thing. Especially when the locker room is full of high school-age kids. It can ruin a team. "One rotten apple spoils the bunch"

I think they'll share it, Minnesota-style. Pretty much go every other game, and ride a hot goalie when you've got one. I'd be surprised if either of them played over 52 games, or less than 32. Again, the hot goalie will play in the playoffs.

Now that Dandenault is gone, if he makes the club, he can have number 11"

It's easier to put a center at wing than to put a winger in the middle... better to have more guys who can take faceoffs if/when needed.
-
As eva said, those guys have been in the league longer. They have a better track record and are all UFA age. Datsyuk has played what, 2 or 3 years, and is still a RFA... most RFAs don't get that kind of money. Besides, if the Wings pay Datsyuk over $4M this time around, how much are they going to have to pay him in his next contract??? Bottom line is, he's good but not that good... and not worth $4M yet.

This from The Hockey News' August issue, where Abdelkader was rated 52nd... "Abdelkader surprised a lot of scouts with the way he dominated at both ends of the ice in the USHL. He has everything scouts like to see in a young defenseman and will play at Michigan State next season." Oops, he's a forward... but not a bad review IMO. At the very least, he gives some real credibility to Michigan High School hockey.

favorite wing never to win the cup in Detroit

One of the Wings' 2 worst trades (the other was Lindsay in the 50s I think) and probably one of the worst 25 in NHL history. We gave up Oates and all his assists, along with Paul MacLean and his mustache, and all we got was a year from washed-up Bernie Federko and 14 games from locker-room cancer Tony McKegney. The Blues MUST have had naked pictures of someone... -
Capitals reach agreement with AHL's Hershey Bears
joshy207 replied to Lidstrom5 D-Man's topic in General
So who's Portland going to be affiliated with? Or are they going to be independent? It seems to me the AHL wants 30 teams so each NHL club has its own affiliate, I don't think they want to travel the independent route (like the old IHL)... -
