how about the rights to negotiate with ericsson, hudler and kindl for bogo. at this point in the red wings situation its not about $$$, its about holes. jagr,tanguay,laich,fleishmann...will fill the hudler void. (upgrade) (1 year con.) brewer or someone else will fill the salei void. (younger, 2 year con.) wiz,bieksa...will fill the raffi void. (younger) 4-5year con. and bogo will fill the ericsson void. (upgrade)4-5 year con. plus we eliminate 2.5 for huds, and apply it to the new breed. the wings need to think (and will)about impact/longevity. next year there is a crop of UFAd-men that will require attention, and lids may be out of the equation. build now for the future and lids money (6.2mil. plus cap inflation) on next year crop to acquire yandle/suter/burns. i think it would be the way to go....just get winnipeg to bite on... imagine wiz, brewer, tanguay, laich, bogozian all in wings gear.

the reason for all the jagr hype right now is we don't have a lock down on overseas free agents. the local free agents cant be approached by GM's until july 1st. we can chatter all we want about the "local" boys....but until then..its all hearsay. my two cents: i never liked jagr....but he would definately be an upgrade over hudler or miller. if he is "the" only forward acquisition...then nah. if he replaces huds, miller...then ok. sign laich, wiz and brewer. trade hudler/emmerton to phoenix for ekman larsson. (please!)send him to minors and call up to mentor under lids. i watch a lot of coyote games out here in the southwest...and that kid is going to blossom into the next smart/fast/offensive defenseman. dare i say "lids" style or niedermaier.(sp) its a reach i know....but he is amazingly sharp for a young-un. but in all likelihood...i think it will be tanguay and laich, wiz and someone cheap(D) with hudler being traded for picks at the draft.

its shocking on one hand...but we could all see it coming undone. rafalski left it all on the ice for the wings and took some punishment to make that perfect outlet pass. we respect that, and hope that he keeps his grin around the joe in some capacity. thanks raffi, we loved your efforts and dedication. now, we are drooling at the opportunity to spend the next month hashing out possible scenarios that holland will produce for us wing fans. some of us will be furious, some of us will be joyous. but we will all be giddy to see the puck drop on next season and watch the "new" breed make a run at #12.

i second that! burns would rock! and we need to pilfer the unstable teams like atlanta/winnipeg/phoenix yandle/bogozian/ekman larsson/enstrom....young and solid skills. honestly...i feel that holland will balance out the total cap relief from rafalski/draper/modano/salei/ericsson/miller and spread the wealth around for a balanced team with some 1-2 year contracts and bide time for THE replacements. but his spending will make a solid team to entice lids into another season or 2. my 2 cents.
