ok...ok...i got it. this is sung from the fans and wings to the Stanley Cup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ei_FJWHXys

WTF WAS THAT! WAS THAT A PARODY OR SOMETHING! it is perfect for the pens, though. its what they did to detroit when they got bettman's ok to "bend" over the rules for slashing, fighting, and too many men.

hossa will take a decent cut in pay....he's not going to make the wings drop talent to keep him, and he is going to feel bad for his lack of production, i almost want to say he's going to sign for another 1 year and re-negotiate late season like franz did. i say dump kopay and samuelsson and go after neil. bring up helm full-time and rotate draps/malts with abby and downey. lappy here would really seem weird...like bertuzzi did. ummm.....no.

hes is on my list of players i dont like....so..... no

we dont need a defenseman....just need lilja to not get hurt in a freak way. we need our 2 hard core hittin defenseman to hit open ice players... that changed the blackhawk series. they were all worried about kron and stewie hitting them. crosby and malkin didnt fear that. because they didnt see it first hand. i honestly felt that the "dynasty" feelings that have set in to any red wing player has a lot to do with it. after being such a dominate force for so many years...the core guys just dont bring that "extra" that everyone else brings. its hard to explain really.....i dont blame them....but the comfort zone was a little too relaxed. if you only bring 90% of your will to play....the 110% players will find a way. pittsburgh saw the luck shift their way too many times to not take advantage of detroits calm approach to winning. the ref's helped out a lot....no call on the icing? 6 men on ice? both of those missed calls resulted in goals. that swings momentum in a big f***in way. just like babs mentioned, the hit post in game 3....well thats just like the hit post in 7 and those missed calls. they all changed the landscape for the penguins to take advantage of. i was under the impression that the refs were letting the rough stuff go..and calling everything else. hmmm. i guess it was on their judgement to let the icing go. and too many men. the last time i saw the wings lose, it was to the devils....and we were just plain beat. ok...i delt with that...just move on to the next year. but this just doesnt sit well, and i hope that next year they can up the "ante" by playing with the other 10% that got lazy. hossa walked in to a room with 40 rings....if the role players didnt have most of them we might have had that fire. i dont blame him...much...he should have brought his own personal fire...not relied on the mantra of detroit to always win. i hope that this year the media doesnt "blow" smoke up their ass all year long and they use that as "hey....were here every year for a reason" no major changes...kep the system intact, just get a little rougher. one guy could change the environment...milan lucic.... my kind of player....he rocks like shanahan of old. focus on that in the draft this year....first round....yeah....

The only thing that gives me any comfort...

maybe...just maybe, bettman will let up on his crusade against the wings. yes, your boy wonder has a cup now. shanahan for commish! question....will we now see every commercial during the offseason showing the red wings demolishing pitt in game 5? seems to me that would only be fair. somehow...i dont see any comfort in this offseason. i think im going to "destroy something beautiful" -
i was skimming through before game 5 and came across a pens fan that signed on as penguins nest. someone responded that penguins dont live in a nest....they lay eggs on the ice. i chuckled. then they did it right before my eyes! get em OZ.....let the boys shut em down! come on Hossa....you know you want to bury a couple tonight! GO WINGS!

come on hoss....make talbot eat his words, give the parking lot something to riot over. light the lamp...over and over and........ we get pav back (please) means less focus on hoss.
-
oh...by the way...IMO...hossa winning the cup with pitt would have been a hollow victory compared to this year with detroit because he fought ALL year with the same team. not a walk on for a handfull of games.... i would prefer to help build the team, than be the "ringer" thats equal to ray borque winning the cup. he was labelled a sell out for doing that....leave boston....sign with colorado and win the cup. just to win. hollow....thats my word of the day. detroit fans have more emotion invested in this now than pitt.

hey "beware".....people seem to forget the simple fact that hossa was a contracted athlete with atlanta at the deadline. he only had a part of the decision making process where he landed. he is a close friend with kopecky and had made it known that he wanted to be a red wing for years. during the trade deadline detroit couldnt offer what pitts offered to make atlanta better and the GM told hossa that if he left...the offer on the table from pitt was the best for his team. hossa didnt say i want to play for pitt, and it happened. if you were on a guaranteed team to not make the playoffs in your last 3 months of contract and your boss told you that we have an offer on the table for you to play for pitt with that roster and make a run toward the cup...you would take it. and then go free agent and choose the team you DO want to play for.... well, we are all witnesses to that exact same thing. what he does from this season is weigh his experience with pitt/detroit and decide if money or success is the most important thing for his future.

osgood gets one of those things where we score a bunch and they score something less than 1 you all know what i am talking about. go wings!
-
all i got to say is...mmmmmmmmm! go wings!

every team should have a 2 call card each game. this allows each coach to demand a review of any play. penalty call/no penalty call/goal/no goal/offsides/too many men etc. now if you win...you win the call if you lose....loss of time out...then delay of game. its called controlling your destiny. the refs are far more aware of making the best call they can, every play, and the coaches feel as if they can have a little more control of their situation. done. make it happen buttman.

we need a 4'x6' somoan in net. nuff' said.

Is it time to make some major moves for this year's playoff run?
luvmnger replied to boomer's topic in General
kopecky and 4th. for neil samuelsson for stempniak and prospect prospect/pick for havelid losing kopecky, samuelsson and picks/prospects would be my line of attack. -
from my counting....hossa landed 1 right and 2 left punches suter got nothin' that means hossa won. 3-0 by the way...hossa had a little jersey issue that grounded his real pummeling he was going to unleash. if you question his fighting go youtube his fight with tverdovsky while wearing a thrashers uni.
-
addition possibilities: nic havelid nathan horton chris neil expendable: fillpula (hossa signed) kopecky (big...shows signs of being....another underachiever) samuelsson (watching him pass...gives me heartburn) howard (putting trust in larsson/mccollum)
-
i am not a big "make a rumor" kinda guy but.... i was thumbing through the available "names" and i came across nic havelid for some reason he keeps making me think he is a target for us. defensive defenseman....big....always a plus player....small scoring numbers....cheap...on a selling team..atlanta. SWEDISH. yup....he'll probably wear #4

ken and mick called it a run at lebda....it looked pretty obvious to me too. clutterbuck was pissed lebda tossed him earlier in the period. clutterbuck also took a run at dats as he went to the bench...dats saw him and got his elbow up and dropped clutterbuck. after that he seemed to calm down and focus on his game.

let our boys rest....other than the skills contest....who cares who goes...who wins i vote for a new all-star game! lets go over/ under 4 years in the league make the vets want to beat the kids make the kids want to show the big boys how to skate makes things interesting.....doesnt it? i dont think that either team will say..."it doesnt mean anything"....and mean it. the kids would have arguably the best offensive on ice...and the vets would have a formidable defence. thomas/lundqvist/fleury nabokov/khabibulin/osgood thats my 2 cents
-
we all have to remember that the last time we saw our beloved wings was at there most fierce, and well oiled. time off has definately put some rust on the skates and on the stakes. its a long season of dominance. just wait for it. this was a good wake up call to send the message that easy going, wont work, its time to step it up sooner than later. NO FEAR! GO WINGS!

montreal beats toronto on saturday with the lead pipe in the broom closet

albuquerque NM here.......dont get DISH.....they made me angry in so many ways 2 years ago. got DIRECT TV center ice and regional broadcasts. end of problem. i usually get my choice of 2-3 different feeds. (columbus) (detroit) (center ice choice)..etc. the only problem is telling my DVR which channel to record. (p.s. if you record and wait 1 hour in to the game you can fast forward all the commercials and catch up at the 4 min. left area) but i should buy stock in it. not cheap its worth it thou......

i dont get why there focusing on hossa.....i mean conklin was a penguin for more than 2 months, and helped pull them through a rough patch during the middle of the season. their just pissed that hossa and conklin dont see a future in pitt. im thinking that management/ownership/coaching got lucky and dont seem stable enough to repeat.
