it is of my belief that, yeah, they have been embellishing the hits, but after watching some of the penguins other series, they often pull small little cheap shots that go "under the radar" and our coach is just exploiting this. just like cards....every team has their "tell" this is the penguins. small extra poke, slash, elbow....nothing too big. retaliation penalty.....bang....power play for them well, say hello to the better coach, players, team. san jose, calgary, anaheim, philadelphia, sean avery, all use this as standard practice. our coach has informed the players to let it be know when someone gets a little extra. diving in my book is taking a no call and making it a big deal. "light stick on arm..spin fall" not diving is taking a missed call and making it known. "poke stick in face...grab face and fall down" ozzie got an elbow to the head...it was a light elbow.....but it was still an ELBOW. franzen got a punch to the head...it was a good shot....but it was a shot non the less.

BUFFALO NEWS: Bucky Gleason suggests the Sabres have the chips to retool their roster, and believes they should trade Campbell now to capitalize on his increased trade value, believing Campbell could land a first round pick or a top prospect or perhaps both. Gleason also writes Campbell might not be the only player the Sabres are shopping, suggesting Maxim Afinogenov, Tim Connolly, Ales Kotalik and Dmitri Kalinin could net strong returns, and feel the Sabres should shop Campbell and one of the other four. SPECTOR'S NOTE: Hat tip to "Steve" for the Gleason link. Publicly the Sabres management claims they hope to re-sign Campbell, and it's possible they could do that and perhaps shop one or two of those other players Gleason listed. It'll be interesting to see how they play this by the deadline. what do you guys think abou this situation. hypothetically, of course, i would give campbell and kotalik a look for that price. still doesnt give us the bruiser at the blueline.....but i think its better than blake. campbell reminds me of kronwall with more skill offensively

nope....blake is out. stuart isnt a bad idea, more along the lines as our 5th or 6th defenseman (covering for kronner) but i am still a firm believer of going after hossa i think his dynamic abilities will allow us to put up more goals per game and severly disrupt anyone trying to successfully cover our stars. i know, extremely pricey....but think of this....hasek, chelios and lidstrom arent getting any younger and the chance of a cup are better this year than next.

did i say....."lets trade sammy lillja and franzen for kopitar" nope didnt think so i know that the deal to get those guys will include prospects, picks and roster players i would be more than fine if we can lose those guys to aquire some "scoring" talent in the process. my response to the new guy was in relation to the kings in last place, known for losing their best players in wrong move deals ala"schnieder" and would like to see a package put together to acquire one of the aformentioned players. dont confuse me with the "lillja for ovechkin" s***heads that troll this site. please note the "to much to give up" part of my kopitar "wish list" outside of kopitar.....their isnt anyone on the "list" that isnt obtainable with out giving up on our playoff team

if we are going to poach some players off the kings "again" we should go after cammalleri, frolov or even.....kopitar. i know...more expensive, but lose sammy,lillja, or even franzen, and i would be ok with that. my wish list from available "out right now" teams.... anze kopitar.....to much to give up mike cammalleri...might be do-able mats sundin....strictly a rental michael ryder...could be had cheap, would flourish on our high speed offence darcy tucker....tough guy that can score? team falling apart? wants to drink from cup? vaclav prospal....tampa needs a way out of their cap issues, and failing team nathan horton....sean averys less dick-ish cousin, but scores stephan weiss...long term potential here...can be slick with the puck patrick sharp- never happen....aggresive, fast, scores, rival team. nuf said.

nobody is calling out a famous bad move. letting sir dallas drake go for bob essensa and sergie bautin hello! trading dino ciccarelli for a draft pick out of florida. dino had 2 of his best seasons after that and could have got his name on the cup...sniff. uwe krupp is by far the biggest hand grenade to every been throw in the detroit locker room.
