Yeah, I don't know what to think about that old logo patch. Reminds me of when the Mighty Ducks went to college or prep school or whatever it was. D3!
-
Yep, bad idea. Next! Btw, what's on the shoulder patch?
-
Wow. As a whole, thats horrendus. Ever since the reebok deal these terrible jerseys keep coming. The shoulder striping is bad on every one its used on. Vertical striping is mostly a mistake. The only real win here is that the Ducks finally have a logo.

Mine is all scratched up, ends up pushed up on my helmet to where its useless anyway. I pretty much don't like it anyway. That said, I don't trust these stick wielding hooligans nowadays and would probably wear one if I played competitively again. The difference is huge though. Having nothing there makes it seem like you can see the ice so much better.
-
Forsberg. Even out of his prime. Fischer. Imagine his ginormousness still patrolling the ice. Doughty or Weber. To replace Nick. Almost anyone who shoots like Hull or Shanahan. Ty Conklin. (The realest of all real backups )

A healthy Kariya would have fiiled the forward spot. But they let him walk and he's out anyway. They need a veteran puckmoving defenceman too. Besides that though, they really impress me. Oshie is a beast. Berglund, Backes, Boyes, Steen, Perron, Johnson, Halak, and Petrianglo make up one heck of a hockey club.
-
I'm gonna say the Blues are at least two pretty decent veterans away from really competing in any serious manner. One forward and one d-man.
-
Akim Aliu came over in the Big Buff deal too.

Of course Ozzie is the guy in the spotlight tonight. I'm not even sure why he's playing after how Howie played last night. This is a big game and we all know who is our "big game" goalie is right now. After seeing us play so well yesterday, I'm still expecting a win here. That said, all Ozzie bashing aside, I remember a big game that Ozzie was in for at this time last year. The Pittsburgh game. Result, 7-6 Penguins OT win. Hat trick from Staal. I wouldn't be one bit suprised to see the Hawks put up 5. If we win (and I'm confidant we will), 5-3 looks good to me. If we lose, 5-4 Hawks.

Ahhhhhh!!!!! Datsyuk!!! This is nuts!!

"This could be a rather interesting period if Anaheim continues to goon it up." Agreed. I'm waiting for some craziness to break out here soon.
-
Looking at they're lineup, I'm thinking this should be a steam roll. It's amazing how fast Anaheim's depth and overall talent have disintegrated. That D is barely a shadow of a couple years ago. They're bottom two lines are pretty bad. That said though, Hiller can keep them in games. Drop the puck!

Top Forwards: 1.Crosby 2.Ovechkin 3.Malkin 4.Datsyuk 5.Backstrom 6.Zetterberg 7.Thornton 8.Getzlaf 9.Stamkos -Nash -Sedins -Heatley -Marleau -Carter -Kovalchuk Yea, even though I can't stand him, Getzlaf is probably in the top ten.

Pre-Season 9/22 GDT: Red Wings at Pittsburgh Penguins

I don't really want to fuel the fire, but... I think it's beginning to at least be fair to start considering 'bashing' (opening questioning) Osgood a bit. I don't have a problem admitting when he's good ('08 playoffs), but i think two straight horrendous regular seasons warrants it. This last season sent me right over the edge. When he was complaining and whining about Babcock and the Wing's defensive support in the media, i had about enough of him. If I'm a correct a 24 year old rookie (whom not many were very high on) stole his job. Nearly every chance he got to start, HE played horrendously. The "well i need to start X amount of games before i can play well" excuse was pitiful. Your a pro Chris, you aren't going to always get those chances. I get it's the preseason, i'm not jumping over a bridge. But i am getting just a bit tired of seeing 5 goals for the opposing team on the board and being 95% certain I know who's in goal. -

Hahahaha. Another. Wow. I literally just turned this on. Pretty lame. Oh, now the "Osgood" chant. -

WTH was Salei doing on the PP? Crosby another. Ugh. But hey, here's to looking forward to another year of Chris Osgood's steller goaltending... -
For some reason I never really thought about the correllation between losing McClellan and the difference of our '08 and '09-'10 defence. Maybe Hitch is the answer. If that happens, kudos the Holland and the crew.

Pronger is hated cause he may be the dirtiest player in the league. We have an extensive history with him and his debouchery. For most of his career he's been in the Western conferance so we see him often, Regular season and playoffs. Oh yea, he's also hated because he's extremely good at what he does and is an elite d-man. Personally, I can't stand Crosby. I believe it has much more to do with the media than him, although he is a whiner baby. Right before Crosby scored the Gold Medal winner, I said out loud "if Canada scores, just please don't let it be Crosby". Just because I don't want to see him in the media about it for 30 years. Most disliked playe*aqrs: 1. Forsberg (incredibly skilled, clutch, Av) 1A. Roy (see Forsberg+king of arrogance) 2. Crosby (whiner, media) 3. Getzlaf (arrogant, super skill) 4. Perry (arrogant) 5. Talbot (clutch) 6. Pronger (gets away with murder) Teams: 1. '97-'02 Avalance 2. '08-'09 Penguins 3. '07-'08 Ducks

"Signing Zbynek Michalek and Paul Martin didn't upgrade our D? We have Martin, Orpik, Michalek, Letang, Goligoski, Lovejoy (or veteran D-man)Some would argue that's a top 3 D in the league." But you lost Gonchar, basically replaced by Martin (argueably) so you only really added Michalek. I took a look at the 'goals against' stats from last year, was a bit suprised by what I seen. The teams with the better goalies let in the fewest goals, not necessarily the best D-man. NJ and BOS were 1-2, and outside of Martin and Chara, there ain't much to look at. I think Fluery is going to have much more to say about how far you go than Michalek. And Fluery isn't exactly Mr. Dependable. "The Pens will run through the league this year and most likely win the president's trophy." This is just ignorant. You have a chance. At least not any better chance than, Washington, Detroit, and maybe even San Jose. "As for wingers --- Kunitz wasn't healthy at all last year. That really hurt in opening up space for Master Crosby. Malkin is switching to Winger and Staal (Not Stall, as so many of you say) is centering him." No excuses...you have no wingers of note, period. If Staal isn't on your third line, you've lost a lot of depth. Your bottom two lines will look more like Chicago's, thin, to say the least. Tangradi barely put up a Ryan Malone-esque season...but in the AHL. You had to dip from the former NYI/EDM cast-off bin again in Comrie in hopes that he adds anything to your team. "I don't see the Wings pulling through this year, because they won't be able to get past Chicago. Pens v Hawks. You heard it here" You don't see it because your looking through Penguin eyes. Crosby goggles. The Hawks are Pittsburgh-West (stink for 12 years, pile up picks, win, lose a ton of depth, think that they're the best thing since sliced bread). I wouldn't be suprised if Chicago doesn't even make the playoffs. The Penguins almost didn't in '09 (after losing major pieces) and it took major trades and a coaching change to get them there. The Wings have a better defence than either of Chicago or Pittsburgh. They are deeper on offence than both teams. They are more experianced than both teams. They have better coaching than both teams. No contest. The only reason I even pick Pittsburgh to contend is their experiance and the fact that the East is weak.

He will as in "might" or he will as in "will"? If he is gonna play full time D I will be blown away. I thought that deal was bad in the first place, this will make it atrocious.
-
I've always wondered what he could do on a scoring line. They should tack him on one in GR and see what happens. Who knows, maybe he lights it up and we can trade him to Tampa for thier stretch run. I know that sounds crazy, but who knows?
-
No issue causing in mind. It was more of a joke towards ChiHawks newbie-fans who love to spread their message of ignorance about how exactly the Hawks are going win the next 17 Cups. A lot of Pens fans are like that too, except they have a little bit more reason to be, its called repeated success! Otherwise known as Red Wing hockey. I was curious to see what other fans are talking about, that's all. BTW, letsgopens isn't quite as bad as I had thought/hoped.

Wings over Penguins, 4-2 If Howard isn't the second coming of Steve Mason, I think we're golden. We're much deeper than last year, with rest, and hopefully some passion after an early exit. This team is essentially the team that won the Cup in '08, except the younger players of that team are developed. I can't stand the Penguins but they are obviously talented, and more importantly, I believe they have the most playoff experiance of anyone in their Conferance the last 5 years. Experiance wise, they're the Wings of the East.
