  1. I hope the Hawks shake the refs hands after...penalty shot goal was the winner. Rediculous.
  2. Tell you one thing...there is no one in the league id rather have on the ice in this situation than Dats.
  3. I'm emotionally drained too much to get excited.

hypothetically what would we have to trade to get the 2nd and 3rd over

I doubt that, very much. As a Wings fan, I wouldn't want to do that trade because I'm high on both those kids but I'm think Jones is a really big deal for the Avs. Local ties, probable franchise dman...the kids we'd give them are 5 years older and niether is "suppossed" to be top flight. In reality, the Avs should have never made the Shattenkirk deal.

    trade idea for next year

What if they trade the first pick and work out some nonsense to get Drouin AND MacKinnon...ala Vancouver/Sedins draft. Maybe send O'Reilly and something else wherever...

Wings awards from Round 1... take your pick

Dats is for sure the best player on the team. I can't really take anyone seriously that says otherwise. That said, this is about this series. I didn't watch enough of it to really com.ent but from what I did Jimmy was carrying the team. I know Z was all clutch the last couple games too..

Abby in for game 6... Who draws out?

Someone who plays like they care and isn't made out of glass. Emmerton. Too bad Tatar isn't a choice.

    Watching Ericsson mature

I still can't concede this though. Ericsson is playing like a #3 to me. That said, I have high standards for top pairing guys. If a #1 is a franchise, elite guy...a #2 is a Rafalski/Kronwall type skill level and Ericsson arguably doesn't have that skill level to begin with and he hasn't proved consistently that he has become at that level.I think Fischer was better than E and Fischer wasn't quite a top guy...although I believe he would have been.

    Watching Ericsson mature

Ill admit I was wrong too. I won't admit that he hadn't always proved me right until this year though. Part of why its so amazing that he's this good now is because of juat how useless he's looked for years. He just looked lost out there to me. Was terrible, yes terrible, positionally. Didn't use his stick, body, or brains consistently to ever prove any confidance he team had in him to me. But man has he been different. He's usuing his body (although he has the potential to be much better physically) and he actually looks somewhat confidant out there. I'm impressed. Kindl too...his transformation has been nearly as shocking.

Ryan Sproul: OHL D-Man of the Year

I'm real excited about this kid. He seems to have at least #3 type tools. Dekeyser, Smith, Sproul, Ouellett, and Backman looks very deep considering Ericsson and Kindl are progressing nicely.
  11. Dominance, having either the best PP or PK or both, Jiri Fischer, having tough players on our team, guys that just shoot and are actually good at it (Shanny and Hull), one timers, old time hockey, fights, the feeling that both teams are beginning to seriously dislike each other, real rivalries, a time when i felt like whoever won a series was actually the better team, and a time when i felt like there wasnt so much questionable influence from Bettman/the league in suspensions, playoff series, or the draft lottery. I miss Draper's ethic, Lidstrom's dominance, Shanny/Hull's slapshot, Yzerman's whole game, and Duschene's smile. I miss the "must see TV" feeling of Wings/Avs. I miss knowing that the Wings would get someone at the trade dealine. I miss real, physical play. When everybody hit everybody and you didnt see guys getting runned because they made a clean hit. I miss Homer and Lidstrom and not just because we arent as good without them. I miss watching the way they played. I was 11 when Homer was entering the league and I was starting to get serious about my own play in hockey. I very much modeled my game to a Maltby/Homer hybrid as I wasn't a dangler but was a pest and scored garbage goals aplenty. I used to practice deflecting pucks for hours on end and loved filling that role on my team. Even after i stopped playing, I loved watching Homer be the best at what he did. I was always a forward, although i played on my various team's PK unit, growing up but as I got older I became much more interested in game philosophy and the defensive part of the game and thats when i started to really watch Lidstrom. To me, outside of Datsyuk, Lidstrom was the most fun player on the Wings to watch because of how utterly brilliant he was. I think you have to know the game pretty intimatly to really grasp what he could do and I think I had to get older (then when I was young teen) to even understand him.
  12. Still not Big E's biggest fan but im feelin' that prediction...if we win, of course. Perry will more than likely score because thats the kind of thing that has happened the last few years.
  13. You are such a hater, all the time...lol That said, I like Cleary's ethic but he is beyond done here. I wont feel bad when Tatar gets all the ice time Cleary would have gotten.
  14. Besides the last OT game, which i didnt get to see, I feel like we always lose in OT. Id love to say this isnt true but I have very little confidance after regulation.
  15. Lol...i bet youd make alot of money if that happened...if they made odds for that sort of thing
  16. Filppula and Sammy out in the last minute? Gosh I miss the last 15 Wings teams...
  17. Hard to argue with that. Guy had fire in his eyes,
  18. I bet you love Samuelsson. No matter what, always takes the shot. And 9 times out of 10 its blocked. I know you have to shoot to score but that shift was beyond impressive. I rest my case.
  19. This guy hits the stratosphere when he gets fired up. Who can touch him?
  20. I> LOVE> PAVEL DATSYUK!!!!!
  21. Because everything is always Jimmy "average" Howard's fault...you didnt get the memo?
  22. Again...if you dont understand the imporatance of keeping the puck in their zone for :45 by himself, your lost. Hindsight is 20/20. Without Dats the puck probably is iced three times.
  23. It really all seems inevitable anymore...and its been that way for a few years now. We just arent good enough anymore to "make" the bounces go our way.
  24. Seriously...did you even watch that? Like to see you control your rebounds with Lashoff on top of you.
  25. Glad Lashoff fell on Jimmy...
