Would agree that Nashville has the "easier" of games. (Two teams on the outside looking in) ...but Dallas is going to be desperate for a win tonight as they still have a chance for the post-season, so I see a really tough game for the Preds tonight. As far as Saturday goes, I really hope that Colorado is ready and willing to play out their season strong. (can't believe I just "wished" Colorado 'Good Luck')

What was offered/What Howson wanted/What he got: Oh right, he got nothing.
-
Was Brian Burke's Inactivity at Trade Deadline Admirable Price to be paid for players wasn't worth selling the farm for. Hmmm... sounds familiar. Although luckily, we're n a better position than the Leafs.
-
BUT THEY DID NOT DO WHAT **I** WANTED THEM TOOOOOOO!!!!
-
Even if Howson is fired before the draft, don't believe that Nash will remain with Columbus. After this, I bet Nash's list of teams he'd be willing to traded to has grown.
-
Oh, right... teams might not be willing to trade with us to make us better. What a concept.

Respect for the player? Letting Commodore go to TB gives him the chance to play. Besides, that conditional 7th rounder we got from Tampa will be our next Z.
-
I think he is. No, really...

Isles weren't sellers because Staios, Parentau, and Montoya were their only pieces to sell. Nabokov has a NMC and the Isles are looking to re-sign him anyway.

It's way too early to be disappointed. The West coast is just waking up. Duthie just said last years first trade didn't go down until 10:35AM and the next trade wasn't for another hour. -

TSN Video Feed: http://veetle.com/index.php/channel/view#4f4b28dbab3fa Best tweet of the morning: John Buccigross @Buccigross "Sounds like NHL GM's and fans are doing what most parents do with their kids- Over-rate their talent. Let's show some stones, people" -
So glad he is off the table and all these rumors that he's going to be a Wing are over!

Agreed. Definitely not for a player and two picks (2nd rounder is conditional.) -
Reminder: Steve Y. is not our GM. Flipping Moore (signable in the off season if Tampa really wants him back) for a 2nd rounder ain't too shabby. (and yes, I know there was implied sarcasm in the above posts)
-
Isles are going to want something absurd for Nabby. I wouldn't be against picking him up in the offseason though. 24 GP 2.38 .919 -- backstopping a defensively weak Islander team. Imagine what he could do for us. Sorry, back on topic. Get well Howie!!

OH s***. I did do that didn't I.

Barch made the comment after Simmonds fell down during an altercation with Panthers defenseman Erik Gudbranson. Basically, he was calling him a klutz and making fun of his skating ability. Linesman decided that Barch was inferring more and gave him the misconduct. League agrees and suspends him for a game. It's all about what was heard and what someone thought Barch meant with that comment. Don't the linesmen and refs have enough problems making calls on the ice to start policing what is said between players?
-
It was up on PuckDaddy earlier, but here's a TSN Link So Barch gets a game for making a joke about Simmonds "slipping on a banana peel." Here's where it gets tricky. Is there underlying racism in the joke?
-
Agreed. Think about when Steve Y. would have retired and everything we would have missed if this had been his criteria for defining his career... Certainly there are players out there that can't adjust their game to a different role on the ice and they shouldn't handcuff teams by pretending they're something they aren't anymore. Count me as one of the many who thought that Jagr coming back was a big question mark that wasn't going to pan out, but he certainly seems to understand his role and is playing quite well. Is he the super elite forward of yesteryear... No, but he's making an impact and isn't a distraction.
-
Not that Rick DiPietro has ever been "legendary" (other than in the injury department) but he needs to retire.

Just as long as we keep beating the ones that are ranked in between, I think I can shake this one off. While I don't want to make excuses for the lackluster play and goalie performance, I'm certainly not losing any sleep over these two games. It certainly sucks to lose to a team like the Blue Jackets, but you knew they were going to get their s*** together sooner or later and pull out some wins. The same way you knew that Detroit wasn't going to go 82-0. Uninspired play combined with a rattled back-up goaltender needs to get worked out early in the season. I expect it will be. Now get it together and beat San Jose.

With what Montreal is paying him, this is a surprise to absolutely no one. He will be a disappointment to Habs fans no matter what. He is not a top-six forward, especially on this broken team.

Chris Botta, Islanders Expert, says that the team won't buy him out. Funny how Botta says he's in "good condition." If you discount all the injuries, sure... he's a new born philly. I mean, it's swell and all that he's on such good terms with the team and that the Isles aren't going to bury him, buy him out, or force him to retire... but it's a little unreal at how seemingly amicable this situation is for both DP and the Isles. I bear no ill will towards the guy. He was on the cusp of being thee elite American born goaltender of this era. Even if he does run out of injuries: How's that psyche holding up, Rick? Can you deal with being an also ran? Can you salvage your career? Can you deal with never really earning what you're being paid? You could retire, rebuild, and come back... you're only 30 years old. You could agree to a buy out, and ultimately, like Yashin previously, you can still help the team make the cap floor for years to come. If the Isles were to buy you out, it'd be 1.5 million/18 years. FYI: That buy out number Rick, is just slightly more in one year than a Best Buy employee would make in their lifetime.
